If you come to the Outer Banks for a wide, uncrowded, life-guarded beach, this may be your place. (See Ocean-View photos.)
You'll love this 1970's Classic Nags Head surf cottage with memorabilia and all of the modern conveniences. ..Walk to Jeannette's Pier, Sam and Omie's & convenience and grocery stores.

Property was ok but had one bedroom that had an odor in it and had 3 damp pullers in it not sure what was going on there. Yes I forgot to add my dogs on the reservation and I didn’t mind paying but she said we left a mess which we did not so just do something with the smelly room and don’t worry we won’t ever rent from her again

Great cottage

Pictures were accurate - what a great cottage. We loved everything about it, but our favorite extra was the ice maker!! We will definitely be back!!

OBX beach vacay

We all loved our week at Surf Shack 6. The decks are amazing and it is so close to the beach. The house itself was bigger than what we anticipated from the pictures. This was by far the most well stocked property we have ever rented.

Beach Vacation 2024

Location is great! Amazing ice machine. Everything we needed for a multi-generational beach vacation! Could use some repairs: back door wouldn't latch from outside making it difficult with a one year old, huge temperature difference between 1st and 3nd floor.

Great Vacation Spot

Lovely surf shack on the beach. Clean property with all of the necessary amenities for a stay by the ocean. Property owners were extremely responsive to queries and very kind to speak with. Our family has eight people and we had more than enough room while keeping very comfortable. Great seating outside to enjoy the beach with your coffee or an evening cocktail. Just off the dune for beach access and located near shopping, grocery, and restaurants for all of your needs. The best perk to the property was the great ice machine, never had to buy ice during the week which is one less thing to worry about. Will definitely look to stay here again!

Perfect house for a family vacation. Has everything you need in the kitchen. The ice maker was my favorite. Roomy living area and bedrooms are comfy. I love the rooftop porch and the walk to the beach was easy peasy, just over a dune. Lots to do close by. Looking forward to booking again.

Beach Vacay

This home was much more spacious than what the pictures show. The deck space is incredible and the home was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. All 8 of us had a great time in the house and on the beach just outside.

Location location location

Very cute cottage, so close to the beach we couldn't believe it, crow's nest had amazing views. Definitely where we were every morning with our coffee!

Inviting cottage steps from a lifeguard beach

Despite the weather we had a great stay at Surfshack 6. It’s well appointed with all you’ll need. Cozy and comfortable in a quiet area of Nags Head. Great views from the crows nest and a nice screened porch to enjoy the sea air. Gen was available for any questions we had. Thanks for the relaxing vacation.

Surf Shack Beach Cottage

The property was clean and very well stocked. Location is awesome, short walk to the beach. If you are looking for an ultra modern beach castle, this isn't it. But, we weren't and it fit the bill perfectly. We enjoyed the surf motif and pictures. This is the type of place I vacationed in as a kid, but with...an Ice Maker! I was amazed at how much we used it. Always had a cold drink! Owners were easy to deal with and check-in/check-out were a breeze. Communication was great. The only downside was the rough surf due to offshore hurricane kept us out of the water. I did manage a fishing trip on one of the nearby charters and caught some tuna. Love the Outer Banks, really enjoyed our stay. Hope to get back here someday.

Great week on the OBX

We really enjoyed our stay at "Surf Shack 6". The location in South Nags was wonderful. I would highly recommend the Surf Shack 6 if you are looking for a relaxing week of family vacation on the Outer Banks.

Summer Trip to Surf Shack 6

Everything was amazing! Communication with the owners was always quick and helpful. Checking in was a breeze. This property is great. Only second house away from the beach and no roads to cross! That was very important us since we have a handi-capable family member. The beach house itself was just perfect. Equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Except of course for sheets and towels but who wouldn’t want to bring their own? I especially loved the homey touches and decorations that make this beach house feel like a home. From the decor in the family room to the pictures of the family. Just a wonderful place for our vacation and we really lucked into it at the last minute. Thank you guys for opening your home to us! My grandkids want to come back again. ❤️

Great house and location

Great vacation at the Surf Shack

We just spent a terrific holiday week at the Surf Shack. Perfect location with great ocean views from the crows nest and a very short walk to the beach. The house was very comfortable, well maintained with everything you could possibly need. The owners were very helpful and super accommodating. Nags Head and the Outer Banks in general are great in the off- season and plenty of restaurants are open. Loved it here and would come back again in a heartbeat!

Great week!

My family and I had a wonderful time, great location close to Fish Heads bar and grill and fat boys ice cream. The house was perfect with us with everything we needed to prep and serve meals. The ice machine was a huge bonus, we’ve never been lucky enough to find a property with one. The owners checked in by text which was appreciated to open that line of communication. Would recommend!
