Wonderful hideaway with private hot tub!

Good location to explore all of the beautiful island of Maui! Lori was very helpful and welcoming! Amazing outdoor shower too! Hot tub was fantastic and kitchen had everything we needed. Private and so relaxing!

Relaxing Getaway

Amazing Maui Getaway

This property is amazing and the hosts were great. The location is off the beaten track and you will feel like you are in your own private resort. Everything you need for a great getaway is provided - the views are spectacular and the stars at night are incredible. Definitely would recommend this property for an unforgettable Maui vacation. The outdoor shower and hot tub are fun. Mahalo :)

Gorgeous Landscaping

Walked in to a house full of fresh flowers, fresh bread and champagne! Everything about this property is thoughtful, you can tell they put a lot of time and work into it! The landscaping is beautiful and functional to give each house their own private space. Definitely a perfect romantic getaway.

Exceeded Expectations!

The Rainbow Cottage was absolutely lovely. We enjoyed everything about our stay. Sharyn left us some lovely fruit, farm fresh eggs, a bottle of wine, and some home baked bread. It was all fabulous. The sunrise views were beautiful. We also enjoyed the dark skies at night and the stars, especially through the windows above the bed.

Beautiful getaway off the beaten path!

My wife and I spent the latter half of our honeymoon in Maui, but wanted to get away to the quiet part of the island. Sharon’s property was perfect for that. It is right along the road to Hana yet close to some of Maui’s best beaches on the northern side of the island. The house itself was also stunning- clean interior, gorgeous views, and surrounded by jungle. Sharon was also extremely responsive and personable!

Perfect getaway to start our Hawaiian Adventure!

We had such a great experience with the property! It was a great kickoff to our first trip to Hawaii. We stayed there for 4 days at the beginning of a trip to Maui and Oahu and trekked up to the top of Haleakala and down past Hana. The location is really great - along the road to Hana, but close enough to Paia and Haiku for restaurants if need be. The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking and other amenities were greatly appreciated. Our two teenagers loved being able to get back to the bungalow to chill after our days full of activity. We will definitely recommend to others and hope to make it back someday!

Our private retreat into the 1970’s

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Rainbow cottage. We like unique properties and, with two levels, private outside shower, hot tub and lush Hawaiian landscaping, this may have been our most unique place yet It was convenient to the road to Hana, shops and restaurants of Paia and my bike ride up Haleakala. (Appreciated that hot tub after). Sharyn gave great directions and was always available before and during our stay. Fully recommend.

Recharge & Renew

Having gotten through COVID, we were in need of relaxation and adventure. After a few days of pampering in Wailea, we wanted privacy and romance. The Rainbow House was everything we’d hoped for and more. Whether remaining in sanctuary listening to nature while safely ensconced on property, or as a base of operations for Hana excursions, this place is magical. Highly recommend restaurants Colleen’s and Naku.

AMAZING stay - we absolutely loved it!

We came here for the second part of our elopement/honeymoon and were SO glad we picked Sharyn's place. It was just what we wanted and needed - off the beaten path, wonderful views (stars, skyline, sunrise), a beautiful pool, so much outdoor space, great communication and and a friendly outdoor cat to add on :)! We also appreciated the welcome treats Sharyn left for us. The bed was a little soft for our taste, but definitely not a deal breaker! This was an unforgettable experience. Thank you Sharyn for everything!

We had an amazing time!!

Everything about the property was amazing. You have to realize it is not a hotel. It is out away from the city. If you can get passed that then you will love the property and location. It is on the way to the road to Hanna. The jacuzzi really came in handy after our hikes and adventures. The host went out of her way to make our stay was comfortable. Our daughter loved the backyard and the short hike to the cliff where there are amazing views.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Saad & Unsa and their little one, Habiba (hope I got the spelling right!) It's always fun to be able to let kids run and explore (feeding the chickens is always a favorite, and seeing the cows in the pasture both sides of the fence on the ocean cliff path are always a big hit). Jungle Honeymoon Retreat

This house was amazing. We chose to stay here for a few nights of our honeymoon and could not have been happier. It’s very secluded and a great break from the busier resort towns. But it’s close enough to dining and grocery. We loved all of details of this house. It’s private and the hosts make sure you have everything you need. We enjoyed cooking breakfast and feeding the chickens on location. The pool was right outside and we had it all to ourselves. The AC was well maintained. And the owners were very responsive. 11/10 would recommend

A beautiful retreat

My partner and I wanted to get away for a trip just the two of us (leaving our kiddo at home). We stayed at the Rainbow Lookout for the first half of our trip and it was so beautiful, peaceful, private, and a great launching off point for us to explore adventures nearby. Sharyn was incredibly helpful when I had travel related questions - she went above and beyond with tips and recommendations. The place is well stocked with treats and there is a beautiful walk out to the cliffs you can take with expansive views and no one else around. We loved the pool and hot tub. Thank you. Mahalo. We are forever grateful.

An amazing experience

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Rainbow lookout and had a phenomenal time! The B&B exceeded our expectations and the hosts made everything easy from the moment we landed on island and throughout our stay. They made the check in and check out process easy and smooth and provided excellent directions to the house and more written information in the house with recommendations on how to make the most out of our stay. The house was beautiful, clean and best of all, private. You felt as if you were in your own world and oasis. We had all we needed to feel comfortable and completely immerse into the peacefulness of this off the grid location. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience to enjoy our wedding anniversary and will definitely be back one day!

Just WOW

After staying on Oahu for 6 nights, our 3 nights here seemed way too short. Every detail Sharyn, Jeff, Kai, and staff put into this home is just incredible. It is so clean and bug-free, especially considering you are in the jungle! It is a great location, away from crowds yet accessible to so many things. The location is ideal for a truly unique-to-you experience. We enjoyed dinner at Mama’s Fish House after a sunset at Hookipa our first night. Our second day we drove the Road to Hana and, because of its location, still had time for a soak in the hot tub under breezy palm trees before sunset views on their private cliff walk, a simple homemade meal, and star-gazing under the most amazing sky! Rainbow is also an easy drive to Wailea and Kihei if you want to check out that area as well! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and the extra touches that made our 25th anniversary trip so very special!

Absolutely awesome accommodations

Well first you have a lovely and very private space to call your own. Combine that with a very warm and friendly host (Sharon) and our stay could not have been better. The Rainbow Lookout met all our needs and had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels for bath and beach, beach chairs, ice chest, and extra scuba equipment. We could walk down the private road to catch the sunrise; we drank our coffee In the hottub and we swam in the very nice lagoon style pool every single day. When we return to Maui we will definitely Come back. We loved the home and surrounding areas and enjoyed the natural setting as well. If you don’t like nature and want to be pampered by hotel staff then don’t come here. If you don’t mind seeing a gecko scramble across the rocks, then you’ll be ok here. If you want to see what it’s like to actually live like a Maui denizen then this is the place for you. Sharon could not have been more responsive and accommodating. The fruit and bread and eggs and wine got us off to a great start! Thanks for everything! We had an absolute blast.

Best find ever!

Rainbow Cottage was a wonderful unexpected pleasure. Imagine waking up at 3:30 in the morning (still on Michigan time!) and watching a meteor shower through the skylights above your bed. Who gets to do that? We grabbed the comforter off the bed and went down to cuddle in the hammock and enjoy the meteors. Our hammock swayed in the breeze from the trade winds and we could even hear the surf crashing on the cliffs below. As the sky began to lighten, we made a pot of coffee from the beans Sharyn had so generously provided and watched the sunrise from the hot tub. All that was just one morning of our stay at this magical place. From its location (near the beginning of the Road to Hana) to its privacy, everything about this cottage was awesome. We spent hours at the pool on two of our days, and never saw another guest. We were honored by a visit at the pool by Sharyn and Jeff (our hosts), as we enjoyed visiting with them. They are great hosts and made us feel at home. I highly recommend staying at the Rainbow Honeymoon Lookout (of course we saw a rainbow from our balcony!) or any of the other cottages that are on this site. A complete pleasure. We stayed four nights, and regretted not staying longer.

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. My boyfriend and I stayed here for our Babymoon and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate and relax before our little one arrives. Sharyn was incrediable, she was helpful with suggestions on restaurants and things to do around the island. The property is perfect if you want pirvecy and something quiet. We never wanted to leave. The drive might seems like a hassle or out of the way but it’s really not bad, and it’s totally worth it. We highly recommend this place and we can’t wait to come back and stay again.

Jeff is a retired dentist - now he specializes in metaphysical counselling, and is expanding his hypnosis practice into Subconscious Training. (Previously he used these skills in working with phobic patients in dentistry - but these skills have much wider applications and he's having fun expanding them).

Sharyn is an actress, writer, speech therapist, permaculturalist & interior decorator. At the moment, she's enjoying theatre improv and working on a one woman monologue show, which she'll perform in a few months.

We have one young son, Kai Nalu, aged 23. And also an older son, Adrian, who lives in England with his lovely German wife, Antje and their 2 totally cute kids. We're too young to have grandchildren! aaaggghh!!! But what a treat!
