The kitchen is a delightful blend of mid-century modern, and all new appliances for your cooking comfort. The new front porch is delightful to sit and watch the world go by. Take a leisurely stroll around Lake Tomahawk and all your stress will disappear! We will consider your well behaved pets. We also are happy to rent monthly/weekly as well.

It was our first time visiting Black Mountain after visiting other places in the area for years. The Azalea house was the perfect home base to explore the town, hike nearby trails and walk around Lake Tomahawk. The house was just as described and we enjoyed coffee and tea on the front porch in the morning and the den fireplace in the evenings. We hope to return soon!

Lovely dog friendly spot near the lake

Everything that we needed, plus toiletries, cold water bottles, blankets covering the sofas, 300 piece puzzles we could do quickly. Two tv rooms, huge shower. Fenced in backyard. Just perfect for our trip. Owners communicative and generous. Easy walk to town or golf course that is closed for repairs and open for all walkers. Loved it!

lovely home

This house is amazing. Location is great. We really enjoyed the walks around the lake, the downtown of Black Mountain and Ashville and the restaurants. This area is very quiet and peaceful. Our hosts were exceptional. Would highly recommend staying here.

Best Vacation Home

Thank you for making our stay amazing! The house was wonderful. The pictures don't show the new covered porch, which is where we spent much of our time. We will definitely come back to stay on our next vacation!

Great location, great host, great house!

What a wonderful stay! The host (the owner) was extremely gracious and helpful. The location couldn't have been better--within a short walk of Lake Tomahawk (perfect for dog walking) and also walkable to downtown Black Mountain. Lovely porch for sitting and comfortable, well appointed home. Hope to stay again. Highly recommended!

Slice of heaven

Sheryl’s home is very thoughtfully arranged from the updated bathroom(s) and kitchen to the fenced in yard that our pup absolutely loved! Location could not be any better a short drive (5 minutes) into town loaded with good restaurants and shops. Lots of great hiking trails in the area and a quick 20 min to Asheville. We are so grateful to have stayed in Sheryl’s home she is an excellent host, we hope to be back again in the future!

Clean house, great for dogs!

This was our second visit and we will be back! The house is in a quiet neighbourhood yet close to Black Mountain’s downtown, and Asheville. Exceptionally clean and well-appointed. Great fenced in backyard for our dogs. Easy rental and check-in process with Sheryl, our host. Highly recommended!

Perfectly Lovely

Loved evenings on front porch, loved mornings on the back patio, loved the comfy bed, ...the IKEA towels, the well stocked kitchen, the sweet doggy door, the park down the street, the walks to town...love, love, loved this place and Black Mountain!! Sheryl and Russell have thought of everything and more ...making this a first rate get-away that is now on my list of “must returns”.

Black Mountain Lake House

Sheryl the property owner has an amazing property. The pictures don’t do the house justice. It truly is a home away from home. Perfect location, clean, cozy and pet friendly. Thanks for a great weekend. Would definitely come back again. Maybe when it is a little warmer!

Relaxation Achieved!

The property was as described and more. I went to Black Mountain for a quiet get-away and found it here. The house is within walking distance of town and a short drive to the local ciderworks. The neighbor was welcoming and safe, I had no issues staying alone in the house. Everything inside was clean and well-thought out, I felt right at home.

Perfect in Very Way

Everything was as advertised. Large fenced yard for our pups was so nice to have and it was small dog escape-proof. Location with view from the front porch of Lake Tomahawk and mountains was exceptional. Very welcoming and walkable community. Communications with Sheryl, our host, were very easy. The welcome basket with wine and snacks was an unexpected treat.

Front porch heaven

Even a rainy week couldn't spoil our time in this beautiful home. The front porch was so delightful and the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, a nap, quiet moments reading and listening to the rain. It was an ideal location for us while we attended the Worship & Music Conference at Montreat. Sheryl was the perfect host! She was so kind and thoughtful to leave us a welcome basket with treats and a lovely note. We look forward to returning again to this lovely home.

Like staying at a friend's house

We stayed here for one week and enjoyed every day. We both work from home and we were able to work there with a very steady internet connection. Our pups totally enjoyed sitting on the front porch with us and watching the squirrels, chipmunks, birds and even a small gaggle of ducks. The bed was comfortable and the house was clean. Everything was very well appointed and provided, lots of paper products, plenty of kitchenware and quality bath linens. The only thing we wanted for was more outlets in the downstairs room, but again, we needed them for working. The house is totally within walking distance to downtown BMT and you can see Lake Tomahawk from the front porch. We would absolutely stay here again!

Good location, modern kitchen, great front porch!

My wife and I were in town after Easter to visit our sons, both of whom live in Black Mountain. This property was a great place to entertain family and enjoy the warming temperatures out on the front deck/porch. We also enjoyed the interior living spaces as well - especially the gas logs on chilly mornings. The kitchen was perfect for putting together a birthday meal and celebration for one of our sons. The open concept and bar seating made it really easy to visit and cook at the same time. Walking distance to the lake and town makes this a great location. Though the neighborhood was pretty well populated and it was spring break, the noise level was very low. Neighbors and those walking the streets were very friendly. We were grateful for the amenities and the owner/manager was very helpful . I would recommend this.

Home Away from Home

We spent a month in Black Mountain and this home exceeded every one of our high expectations. The owner Sheryl genuinely wants your stay to be perfect, and she went out of her way to make sure it was. The house is like an HGTV dream home, with tasteful and charming touches throughout. There are really four living areas, counting the living room, den, front porch, and back deck. My husband and I enjoyed having some separate space, each with a large TV. The kitchen is spacious and we cooked a number of great meals. The beds are super comfortable, and the main bathroom has a wonderful rain head shower. We took our two dogs and they loved the stay. The back yard is large and fenced, and Lake Tomahawk, right at the end of the street, has a half-mile walking path around it. Our dogs were fascinated by the ducks and geese there! Montreat is about ten minutes away, and has many hiking trails of various difficulties. Our dogs loved going there. If you are into yoga, there is a fantastic yoga studio within walking distance of the house. I went every day and made good friends there. Of course, the town of Black Mountain is also in walking distance, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the cafes and shops. The town is also very dog-friendly, and our pups were welcome at every place that has outdoor seating, which is almost everywhere. Sheryl was always available to answer questions and make recommendations, which was very helpful. We played golf several times at the local Donald Ross designed course, which is less than five minutes from the house. We also played at the Asheville Golf Course, which is another Donald Ross course. In short, we had a fabulous time and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We plan to make this trip an annual affair, and can't wait to return to this home away from home.

Fabulous!!!

This was our second time staying here. We absolutely love it! The location is unbeatable. The home is very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Wonderful outdoor spaces in the front and back of the home to hang out, dine, drink coffee, listen to the birds, etc. Fantastic fenced yard for our dogs. The hosts are the best! Very genereous and attentive. We will definitely be returning!

Black Mountain Marathon

We were in town for the Black Mountain Marathon, and Sheryl's place was perfect, from the location to the check-in goodies to the house itself. We had a great stay and hope to be back. Thanks for everything!!!

Great house for us and dogs!

We have stayed here before and we’re happy to return. Very clean, fenced in back yard for dogs, all we needed, nice neighbourhood, easy check in process. We will be back!

Outstanding house, location, and host!

We stayed in this lovely Black Mountain home for 3 months. The hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The house was very well equipped and was very dog friendly. We welcomed a puppy to join our older dog, and the home was wonderful for the two dogs. We were able to work remotely, cook in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoy the fenced back yard with dogs and walk to Lake Tomahawk (across the street essentially) as well as to downtown Black Mountain. Sheryl was extremely nice and helpful. Overall, this was a most magnificent stay and we look forward to recommending this to others and to staying again in the future.

Relaxed Black Mtn. Retreat

Owner very helpful and welcoming. A really comfortable dog friendly home with great space both indoor and outdoor. Gas fireplace has been a real bonus during our winter stay. And the location is perfect! We love the Lake Tomahawk neighborhood, which is an easy walk to downtown Black Mountain. Happy with our stay!

We are delighted to share it with visitors to wonderful Black Mountain. Each time we come to our Azalea Lake House, we both feel so at home. We travel around the world but always come back to our favorite place--Black Mountain. Come enjoy natures beauty, and sit a spell. Enjoy the view!

Location, Location, Location!!! The proximity to Lake Tomahawk totally sold us on the Azalea Lake House. We enjoy walking our lab around the lake no matter what the season. The quick walk to town for dinner or to the tail gate market on Saturdays in the spring/summer/fall make the Azalea Lake House a pleasure. We totally remodeled in 2015, and now it has all the modern comforts you will enjoy.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our fenced in backyard and doggie door are a treat for pups, as we know how difficult it can be to travel with your pet. It seems they aren't welcome at all, and it's usually expensive. Not at the Azalea Lake House--they will enjoy the vacation as much as you will!
I use cleaning products with bleach, and use an ozone machine which sanitizes the air after each stay. It kills all bacteria and viruses after each stay for your comfort.
