Aloha, and welcome to the virtual version of Lokelani C205, a vacation rental condo located on the beautiful West Maui coast. It's not the same as being there - hearing the ocean throughout your living space, seeing your 'morning whale' as you sip coffee on your lanai, or walking just a few feet outside to see honu (turtles) swimming and basking in the sun on your own stretch of beach. Regardless, we welcome you here as our guest just as we would be glad to welcome you into our Maui home.

Lokelani, which means “Beautiful Rose” in Hawaiian, is a West Maui vacation rental that truly lives up to its name. Snorkel with the turtles, watch whales & breathtaking Hawaiian sunsets from your two spacious lanais and fall asleep to the gentle sound of the Pacific in your oceanfront two bedroom town home-style condo.

Lokelani #C205 has been completely remodeled. It is a luxurious two bedroom/two bath unit with both the living room and master bedroom having direct ocean front lanais. This unit is a town home type unit with the kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer, full bath, living room and direct ocean front lanai downstairs. Upstairs you will find a full bath and both bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own direct ocean front lanai with panoramic views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai. A split air conditioning system with units in both bedrooms keeps you cool in the warmer months. Flat screen TV's and DVD players in living room and master bedroom entertain.

This unit is nicely equipped with everything except food and clothing. On the days you don't feel like dining out in one of the many great restaurants nearby, our kitchen has all the utensils, cookware, and dinnerware you'll need. You can watch the sunset while eating dinner out on the lanai, or if on the rarest of occasions the weather isn't perfect, there is also an inside dining table.

We are located just a few miles north of downtown Lahaina and historic Front Street. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood and we are off the main street to insure a peaceful stay. You will not want to leave our beautiful Maui home of Lokelani C205, but you'll definitely want to come back!

Incredible experience.

Our stay was incredible! Great location with a nice, private beach. Kids loved snorkeling, boogie boarding and watching the honu on the beach. Close to other beach options, dining & hikes too!

Mahalo nui! One of the things we love about our location is that we are part of a wonderful neighborhood with lots of options within walking distance. Check out Chef David's cinnamon buns - but arrive early before he sells out!

Relaxing vacation

This was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle but still be a short drive from everything. Loved waking up to the waves every day. On site property manager was very responsive.

It is a good reminder that while most everything you might need in terms of views, beach access and so on is available right outside your door, there are nearby alternatives. Often, if we happen to get an overcast or rainy day, you will find that 10 minutes down the road in Lahaina it’s glorious sunshine. Never be afraid to step out and make your own adventures!

Great Location, Great views!

We really enjoyed staying here and the location can't be beat. The beach was always available during our stay. Turtles came up on shore and whales could be seen from the balcony. The kitchen was stocked with all we needed to prepare meals.

Mahalo! You probably caught the last of the humpbacks before they began their long swims back to Alaska. They are usually gone in April or early May at the latest.

Great location and host!

Condo is in a great location…able to walk right out to the beach. Swimming and sunbathing with the sea turtles (at a distance, of course) was the best! The host was very responsive and patient with my questions, which I really appreciated. We would love to stay here again!

The best place I’ve ever stayed. Super clean and very comfortable.

I have nothing but great things to say. I loved the condo and Kevin was super helpful and very accommodating. The view is spectacular and memories were made.

Best Air-Conditioned Condo with Sandy Beach and Turtles

Very pleased with all amenities and location. Close to clean Pool and the Ocean. The kitchen is so well equipped the cupboards are overflowing. Nice to have extra beach chairs and bodyboard.

Host was very nice. The only thing and this is abnormal. We had a power outage for almost 24 hrs. And the emergency lighting left in condo was old and did not work. I understand this was extraordinary circumstances. The only other thing was the beach chairs left for renters are almost completely unusable. old and broken. We ended up renting chairs.

Aloha Tim. We certainly had some 'weather' during your stay, including the unusual 24 hour power outage to the entire West side of Maui! I'm not sure of the emergency lighting issue, and will look into it. I apologize also for the beach chairs. We recently replaced two of them, but sometimes they don't find their way back to the condo, so will have to check to see what happened. Hopefully, conditions will be better on your next visit. A hui ho!

Great location. Awesome view

We really enjoyed the time at the condo (C205). It was just a really nice place to stay. Most of our 3 weeks was just my wife and I, but my daughter and her husband joined for a week. The kitchen was spacious and the sleeping and living areas were great. We appreciated Kevin communicating with us so easily as the time approached.

Outstanding view!

My husband and I loved staying at this condo. The view from downstairs and the master bedroom is absolutely gorgeous and the unit felt bigger than it appeared online. We appreciated having a dedicated parking space, available beach chairs, and the ice packs to use in our travel cooler. The complex is small, private, in a great location, and we found the residents to be very friendly. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay!

Great Stay!

Our first time in Hawaii, and this little condo was great. Not far at all from Lahaina town, and Ka'anipali area, plus there are good shops, restaurants, and the food truck area right there in Honowakai in walking distance. Very private. Nice having the little beach, although it was fairly rocky offshore. Great sunset views from both balconies. Saw a turtle on our beach one morning. Plenty of space for our family to spread out.

Awesome all around!!!!

Probably one of my most favorite VRBO’s I’ve stayed at in Maui!!!! The margarita machine rocked. We loved all of the ocean toys. We appreciate having extra towels as well. The view off the one I was incredible and we spent so much time out there in the evenings enjoying the night. We were close to everything that we needed to get to including groceries or excursions or some of the best beaches around. I highly recommend staying here and would probably come back again

Gorgeous beachfront vacation condo

My family and I spent an incredible winter break holiday weekend at this property. We were stunned by the ocean views with turtles coming to shore every afternoon onto the condo's private beaches. The beaches are quiet, calm and secluded which is a bonus. The rental property was clean, comfortable and well stocked for visitors of all ages. Kevin was hospitable and great at coordinating our travel needs. We could also walk to many little stores which was fun. We would highly recommend this spot and be grateful to visit again. We have great memories from our stay and are still grinning in March from our December trip. THANK YOU!

Too nice to make public.

This 2-story condo is a hidden gem! Spacious, comfortable, great artwork and well-equipped kitchen. All this plus an oceanfront location with "turtled" beach and spectacular views of Molokai and Lanai (even Oahu on a clear day). It's off the street location makes for great privacy but shopping and seaside parks are easily accessible by foot or car. I could say more but don't want the world beating down the landlord's door and make it difficult for my wife and I to return.

Can't say enough good things about this host!

We loved being right above the ocean--sound and sights were amazing. Great small beach access. Kevin was very helpful in all the pre-check-in details that helped us know what was available in the unit. Because of some unexpected things on our end, we had to cut our visit short. Kevin was so kind and understanding and really went the extra mile to not make it difficult for us to leave. Lots of extras made the unit welcoming, from coffee awaiting us to beach equipment and ideas for things to do on the island. He is a great host and lives out the aloha spirit.

Amazing Place, beautiful Views!

This was an absolute delight of a rental property. We loved ever minute of it. You have a quiet location, small community pool, beach access, the most stunning sunsets. While adjusting to the time difference, I woke up in the middle of the night a few times, and just sat on the back patio, gazing and the amazing starry night - you don't get to see that many stars where I'm from! It was perfect. The kitchen was stocked nicely, so we had our morning coffee and prepared several meals of our own. I felt safe taking a jog by myself around the area in the mornings, as there were other friendly folks out for a morning stroll and good sidewalks.

The star watching can be terrific, especially off our upper level lanai. We do ask everyone at Lokelani to keep outside lights to a minimum to help with the views. As for jogging, something we tend to avoid anymore, there are a lot of options. If you head south from our condo about a mile, you will have sidewalks the whole way. You can then cut through a beach parking lot and pick up the north Kaanapali boardwalk. There tend to be a lot of folks strolling there, but it's still a pleasant run (as much as one can be so 😜)

Excellent condo on the water front

The unit was clean. The kitchen was pretty well stock (missing good pans like most rentals). The pictures are accurate and with the lower level and the upper level lani's you have the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Maui. Lots of whales to see. Close to grocery store and restaurants. I'd recommend this unit. Only negative is once in a while someone else was smoking and we could smell it in the unit. Not much you do about that in this type of enviroment....condos. Excellent stay.

Mahalo for your review! This time of year, the day doesn't start until you've seen your 'morning whale' from one of the lanais - which generally doesn't take long. Of course the views are pretty nice the rest of the year too. Your note on the pots and pans is a good reminder. We fairly recently upgraded a number of the kitchen tools - new knives, cutting boards, insulated tumblers, etc. We'll put new pans on the list next! Awesome Condo

We have stayed at other condos in Maui/Lahaina. This is the best by far! Ocean front property and you can see the turtles right from the unit or right down on the beach. Barbecues throughout property if you wish to grill your dinner. Great pool also. Condo is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beds are quite comfortable and the air conditioning in bedrooms was wonderful. Property managers are quick to respond if there is a problem. We needed a can opener and were having problems with screens sliding properly and all it took was a phone call. Someone was there within 15 minutes! This property is close to everything that can be enjoyed on our favorite island. We are already talking about returning to Maui again and will definitely stay at this Lokelani condo. A Marvelous Place in Maui

Aloha! My husband, two teens and I had the fortunate opportunity to stay at Lokelani Condominium C-205 for 10 glorious days. The condo is spacious, super clean, well stocked, and the views from both lanais are simply breathtaking. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to make a meal. The reliable washer and dryer were life savers. I especio Kay enjoyed the downstair’s shower with the double heads. My daughters also appreciated the boogie boards and noodles for some beach fun. The private beach is our favorite beach! We went to many other larger and more crowded beaches but the one right outside the condo has everything you need to enjoy a good swim and snorkel. There are a few great coffee shops walking distance away, as well as a well stocked ABC Store. We also enjoyed a few meals at the nearby food trucks. The Thai one is my favorite! All in all, a magical stay in Maui! Mahalo! Angelica 😌

Perfect Location and Ideal Condo

We rented this condo for our first couple-only trip to Hawaii after many trips with our children over twenty years. My husband says I should not be too honest about this condo and location because it would then be booked so frequently that we would never get a date to come back! I have to be honest anyway. This condo is right on an actual beach, perfect for swimming, excellent snorkeling (best is to the left, or south along the reef). On days it was chopping or rainy even just a few miles north of us at Kahana, the beach was sunny and pleasant. The unit was in excellent condition, nice and clean, recently updated, and the property was very well maintained. We love the Honokowai area for it's lowkey atmosphere and privacy, and yet it's only 10-15 minutes from top resorts, restaurants, and shopping going north or south. One cannot argue with the surf almost directly below your balcony and breezes every night, even when it is almost still in nearby Lahaina. Both bedrooms have efficient air conditioners to give a little cool down in the late afternoon. As I mentioned, we would definitely book this unit again on a return trip.

We'll be back next year

We spent 2 glorious weeks at Kevin’s place. The highlight: watching whales from the lanais; yes, with the naked eye! And yes, there are lanais on both levels, our favorite ‘activity.' There is a small beach adjoining the property. If you’re a sea turtle lover you’ll be as excited as I was to see them on our beach sunning almost daily. It’s a good beach for kids The condo is located away from the road, right over the ocean so you can see it and hear it. We watched the sunset, the moon rise and brilliant stars from the upstairs lanai. It’s a quiet area except for kids playing happily. The unit was clean and everything worked. I’ve never seen such a well stocked kitchen! When we had a problem with the screen door, Kevin was on it. He was always immediately available. There are air conditioners in both bedrooms, but we hardly had to use them. The assigned parking space was close to the stairs, but you should know there is no elevator. Bottom line, we’re booked for next year! Thank you , Kevin.

What a view!

Wow! We just returned from two weeks of paradise at Kevin's wonderful condo in Maui. This unit has unmatched views of the ocean. With two separate lanais, the views just keep coming! We watched sea turtles swim by each day. The condo has access to a small and very nice beach. The beach is best enjoyed at low(er) tide. When the tide comes in, the stairs are difficult to access. There is nice snorkeling right off this beach, in the rocks. Lots of fish! The kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed most of our meals right in the condo. Both bedrooms had air conditioning, which we turned on right before bedtime. These units cooled the bedrooms very nicely, and after talking with other renters in this complex, we realized that we were lucky to have air conditioning! The surrounding area is older and a little quieter, which was exactly what we desired. There are numerous eating options within walking distance of the condo, including a whole bunch of food trucks! Communication with Kevin, the condo owner, was great! He sent an extensive list of things to do in the area and was quick to make recommendations when asked. The only minor suggestion I have is to buy a few more forks. That's it! If you're coming to Maui, this is your place!

Mahalo for staying with us for your Maui vacation! Your comments on the beach and our steps are good points. The extent of the beach is heavily influenced by prevailing winds, surf and tide. Some times it stretches the length of our condo complex and across the neighboring condos, and at others it is comparatively small. Seasons also seem to play a major role, with the beach tending to be much smaller in summer than winter. I stayed in the condo immediately after you, and had never seen the sand as low as it was this July - normally it is halfway up the staircase, not all the way at the bottom. Clearly, the higher the sand, the more beach we will have. I'm happy to report that by the time I left in early August, the sand was starting to recover. As to the missing forks, I'll have to admit that it's a constant struggle to keep everything that belongs in the condo in place. Some things just seem to have minds of their own and decide to wander off, probably as friends and family get together across multiple units for group food and fun. We will continue to try to train our things to stay put, and in the mean time will recruit some new forks (and whatever else) onto the Lokelani C205 team as needed. More beautiful than we could have imagined...

We recently rented this property at the very last minute (four people). First, Kevin was incredibly flexible and responsive when it came to the reservation. He made everything so easy and even texted us information just to make sure we had everything for our stay. Wonderful. Second, the property itself is incredible. The pictures are accurate and arguably even more beautiful in person. The beach is right downstairs! The master bedroom is large and comfortable with its own private lanai which we used in the mornings. The second bedroom is right across and also very comfortable. There are two full bathrooms, which really helped since we had to shower often after swimming in the oceans. The apartment was incredibly clean, stocked with plenty of clean linens, all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need, and even beach chairs, a cooler, and an umbrella. Each room also had AC which I thought was invaluable after hot hiking or beach days. Also, we thought the location was really ideal. We enjoyed being away from the super saturated tourist areas but still were able to drive 15 minutes to Lahaina if we wanted to. We were also walking distance (or a really short drive) to a coffee shop, a grocery store with smoothies and acai bowls, and a snorkel rental spot. We also drove to the North shore and Hana with no problems. I agree with the review below, this place is so wonderful - I hope it's available for us again in the future! I would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again.

Mahalo nui for your kind words! It sounds like you got out quite a it in the short time you were on-island - Ho'omaika'i Ana (Congratulations!). There's certainly no shortage of things to see and do on the beautiful island of Maui. Driving some or all of the northwest shore gets less attention than some other trips such as the road to Hana (though some of the locals prefer it that way). Even if you don't want to drive all the way around, there are some spectacular views just a few miles past Kapalua on Highway 30. Stop at the (dirt parking lot) overlook of Honolua Bay to watch all the surfers, especially in the winter months. If you choose to go on, you're in for some more treats further up the road! Kipa Hou Mai - come visit again!

Great place

This condo is a very nice place. It's large, quiet with a beautiful view and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with items. The washer/dryer is a great feature for families. The beds are comfortable and the AC is very refreshing. The views upstairs/downstairs are terrific. The condo grounds are well taken care of but are relatively modest without many available chairs by the sea wall -- but has it's own accessible beach where turtles lay. The reason for the 4/5 instead of 5/5 was a problem with our check-in process. The cleaning company never showed up prior to our arrival and left us with a dirty condo from the previous guests. The owner was contacted and was very attentive and worked to resolve our issue the same day with a new cleaning company. All told the issue was addressed within a few hours and the company checked in repeatedly during our stay to ensure things were adequate. The owner then worked to ensure we felt taken care of therafter. Although this created an unecessarily stressful start to our trip, the response was appreciated. Staffing was the reason given for the snafu which was evident as an issue throughout all industries on the island during our stay. The owner followed up repeatedly and assured us the offending company would not be in charge of his unit any longer -- and the presence of the new crew throughout the week indicates they are the superior choice who will ensure no future issues. Besides that, the location is very good and we would be looking to stay here again in the future based on both the ownership responsiveness and the quality of the condo.

Aloha, and Mahalo once again for your patience with the unfortunate start to your Maui vacation. As you note, in addition to the refund we provided, we in fact have changed over our management and cleaning service to the new provider you interacted with. Our previous manager had provided years of good support, but the combination of a change in ownership and post-COVID staffing challenges appears to have been too much for them. We wish them well, but are very happy with our new manager. We hope you will come back and visit us again. Mahalo.

Maui is a special place. On our first visit many years ago, we immediately knew that we had found us a home. Maybe not a year-round home, but a place so welcoming that returning after an absence makes you feel as though you'd never left. Maybe it's the weather, or the ocean views, lush interior landscapes, snow-topped Haleakala (yes, snow), or abundant sea life. Or the people. Of course, it's all of those. And more.

The memories: grabbing onto the tentpoles of a roadside food stand outside Hana as a blast of wind threatened to take the the whole thing away, while puppies ran and yipped around our feet; running into and chatting with the artist Wyland in a book shop, and being invited to the Christmas party at his Lahaina gallery that same evening; cooking tuna on a grill as the sun slipped below the horizon while I drank the best glass of wine of my life…

Why did we want to own property in Maui? Why would you not.

P.S., and full disclosure: the photo above was from our first Hawaiian trip (number redacted) years and many trips ago. Be aware, once you've spent any time here, you will want to come back again, and again, and again...

It is hard not to find a beautiful spot in Maui. We favor the west side - not that there is anything wrong with the south, Hana or any other Maui locale. Some of our favorites include Napili Bay, dining beachside in Kaanapali, playing golf in Kapalua, and wandering Front Street in Lahaina. We encourage you to go to all of these places, and many others.

There is something different about Lokelani, though. There are larger resorts - in fact, probably few are smaller than Lokelani. Many have multiple pools, workout rooms, salons and built-in restaurants. If that's what you're looking for, we can make some recommendations. But if you want to get away from it all, live like a local, then Lokelani may be your place. You can easily get to the beaches of Kaanapali and elsewhere for a visit, but afterward (and before) you can relax on your own secluded beach, or in the comfort of your oceanfront lanai. Maybe - just, maybe - it's as good elsewhere, but it doesn't get any better than this...
