The 'Mountain Laurel Room' at the Comal Inn is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of New Braunfels, Texas. Located across the street from the beautiful spring-fed Comal River and walking distance to the historic downtown Main Plaza and the world famous Schlitterbahn Water Park. Minutes away by car to Gruene, TX, home of Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. The Mountain Laurel Room sleeps up to 4 people, has pine floors, small microwave and refrigerator, coffee maker, cable TV, hairdryer, free Wifi, private porch with comfortable chairs to sit and relax in and a small table with chairs to have your morning coffee.

Nice place to relax

Nice place to relax and take it all in. I work in the oil and gas industry so attention to deal is up front with me. There were things that I noticed that I saw but my wife was oblivious too. Things that I would take care of but most people don’t pay attention too

Extremely Clean! Highly recommend this property!

Julie and Brent were both incredibly welcoming and kind. This was our first time booking a stay on VRBO and really enjoyed the experience. This room actually looks a little smaller in the picture than it felt. We are a family of 4 (children are ages 13 and 16) and we were very comfortable here. Both kiddo's said that the pull out couch was very comfortable. The property also has a very sweet porch with a table and some sitting areas that we really enjoyed in the evenings. Although we did not take advantage of the close proximity to the Comal River and Schlitterbahn, I can tell you that you can easily walk to both. Highly recommend this property! Thanks Julie and Brent for offering such a private and clean property for our stay last week!

Comfortable Home Away From Home

Very beautiful room on a wonderful property. My wife and I stayed with our 2 kids, 11 and 9. Fresh flowers, clean linens, and wonderful smelling pastries with fresh fruit awaited us upon arrival. The king bed was very comfortable with very good quality linens and blankets on with plenty of pillows. The vaulted ceilings make it seem much larger in the room. We enjoyed the covered porch to play cards at night with our kids, and a nice quiet garden sitting area. Brent was nice enough to introduce himself, and ensure we had plenty of local brochures and that our 2 night stay went well. I can see more trips back here, possibly with just my wife & I for a nice romantic trip as well. Thank you!

Very thoughtful touches courtesy of the owners- coffee, lavish breakfast in the room, very comfortable bed. Was concerned about the privacy before our visit, but the rooms are sectioned off nicely and we never even noticed a neighbor. Great location in town for strolling to grab breakfast. River is nearby (though it is deep- we preferred to drive 5min. to the park instead). I was blown away by our experience here- it far exceeded our expectations!

Great location and so cute

I stayed here the first night with a friend for a concert at Gruene Hall. My husband came for the next two nights for our friend’s 50th birthday. We were able to walk to downtown for restaurants and entertainment and to tube rental for a day on the Comal. This room is so nice! It felt like staying at a friend’s place and the owner’s are awesome! The Naeglin’s bakery items in the room were a perfect touch. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful cottage in great location.

The Comal Inn provides a quaint, peaceful, garden setting near downtown New Braunfels and close to the Comal River and parks. The owners literally think of everything! Their communication about arrival was easy and hassle free. Our cottage was beautifully decorated. The breakfast banana bread, yogurt, fruit, cereal and water were wonderful. The owner's provide restaurant suggestions and brochures of New Braunfels entertainment. It's a short walk into town for shopping or dining. We loved the private patio and beautiful plants. We would definitely stay again. If you're reading this review, treat yourself to the Comal Inn.

Wonderful stay!

The location was perfect and absolutely convenient to many things. Every detail was thought of within our room, from the fresh pastry, fruit and beverages. We had ample outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful weather ans were able to walk to the Farmer’s Market . We will absolutely recommend this Inn ans will return soon for another stay.

Great time on our second stay in the Mountain Laurel Room at Comal Inn.

New Braunfels is one of our favorite places to visit & the Comal Inn has become our favorite place to stay. The location of the inn is perfect for getting around to Landa Park, Gruene, the town square, and other places of interest. This is an ideal location for Schlitterbahn & Prince Solms Park for the warmer times of the year. The Downeys are great hosts and very nice folks.

The Comal Inn is a lovely quiet place near the river and downtown.

My husband and I loved the large room. An added plus was the porch, big enough for a sitting area and table and chairs. We loved watching the hummingbirds and other birds feeding in the gardens. Our hosts are very nice. They respect their guests' privacy, but are there if you need them. Overall, a great stay!

Quiet and perfect

We wanted to be close to Schlitterbahn but away from the crowds. This place was perfect. Quiet, preasonable and close to everything. Julie & Brent are great host. They recommended a fantastic beer garden that was within walking distance and the goodies they provide on the first day of your stay are an awesome touch that most places would not even thing about. We will be back, hopefully soon. Thanks for having us.
