90 minutes from New York City, newly renovated four bedroom log home with beautiful unobstructed views of Whaley Lake provides the perfect escape for a long weekend or vacation. Enjoy the views, kayaking, swimming, boating, ice skating, nearby skiing and fall colors. Enjoy all the lake has to offer with direct access from your own boat house. Spacious deck for entertaining or sunbathing. Two story stone fireplace in the living room, kitchen, first floor bedroom and full bath main floor. 2 upstairs bedrooms joined by a Jack and Jill bathroom. Brand new bedroom with direct lake views and full bath on the ground floor

Wintertime waterfront

Lovely lake cottage, in the quiet of winter, swans and ducks on the lake. We enjoyed both Pawling and Beacon as well as chilling with the great water view and nice area hikes.

Beautiful cabin on lake

Except for the treacherous walk down to the house, Especially at night, it was a beautiful place with great views of Whaley Lake. The open floorplan and the log cabin feel was especially welcoming.

Great for New Years stay

It was a very good mini-vacation for us! There were really gorgeous views!!! The table is perfectly placed letting us have an open view of the lake as we eat, and the interior design and lighting sets a comforting ambience. The house has all the amenities you need, would gladly return during summertime to be able to swim.

Fun summer weekend

I stayed at this property with five other friends for a long weekend and we had an amazing time! Being able to overlook the lake from the house and spend all day lounging outdoors is just what we needed. The house was clean and spacious, and the owner was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone looking to take a getaway on the water!

Wonderful property

We rented this property for a weekend getaway with our family. Great lake, great house. We loved the view. We will definitely come back! Definitely a little workout to bring your stuff down the steps! But once you are down there its such an amazing time. Owner is super responsive and helpful.

On Golden Pond

Home overlooks Lake Whaley and offers the opportunity to enjoy the view regardless of weather. Whether from the living room, the elevated deck or at the water level around the fire pit the experience is truly memorable. However anyone with balance problems or other mobility issues should discuss the steps from the parking area down to the house with the landlord.

Whaley Lake Stay

This is a beautiful family home that has a modernized kitchen, bath, and main living space opened up since we last visited four years ago. It is very comfortable. I would only caution that the stairway leading down from the parking area to the house is difficult to navigate. It is steep and uneven; made of rock and concrete. I gather it was intended to take advantage of the natural landscape. There's apple picking, animal petting, and a wonderful place to eat in nearby Pawling. Overall, a lovely experience!

Idyllic lakeside getaway

It was the amazing lake view photo that sold us for this rental. It is even more striking in real life. Wonderful cabin with everything you could want for your stay. It is nicely decorated and the updated kitchen and bath were a great addition of modern convenience without detracting from the rustic feel of the place. Loved the large stone fireplace to warm a cold wintersā€˜ night. There is a good variety of restaurants in the area and antique shops. During the last day the heavy snow squalls kept us at the cabin and we loved watching the snow sweep over the lake. This was our first getaway during the winter. This will be a new tradition. Charles made sure everything for our stay was perfect. Thanks so much!

Fantastic Home -- Gorgeous Lake Views

We stayed for a College friends weekend getaway. The pictures don't do this home justice. New kitchen and bathrooms. Lake views were amazing. Huge deck overlooking lake with smaller patio with fire pit. The views from inside the house were just as nice with large windows and a giant great room. The owner was easy to work with and attentive to any need. We will be back! Highly recommended.

Breathtaking panoramic view

It was a little more out of the way then I thought, but had all the comforts of home, including great wifi. Beautiful house with an incredible view of the lake with a fantastic double patio next to the deck. Wished it had a regular coffee maker or keurig, enjoyed the espresso machine but couldnā€™t find pods anywhere at the stores. We were down for a graduation, wished we couldā€™ve spent more time at this beautiful house.

Best sun room ever

The home is comfy cozy and warm. The lake front property and views are incredible And the fall foliage was lovely. Gorgeous fireplace. Charles was very helpful responding to my inquiries. We took his restaurant recommendations And enjoyed several of them. Town Pizza delivered and that worked great. The steps counted as exercise. I would recommend Charlesā€™ Whaley lake Home as a lovely vacation escape. I spent hours in the swing relaxing and reading. You can see the lake from the corner of the living room couch. That was great too. Loved the picnic table in the sunroom. Bed was comfy. Pictures do not totally due the home justice. Plus some new furnishings too. You will enjoy your stay and want to come back. Our dog enjoyed looking out sunroom windows too!

Perfectly Relaxing - Amazing Views

The family and I stayed at Charlesā€™ lake cabin for five days and had a terrific time. The location is great as far as access to all the Hudson Valley a tractions and even the city. Charles was very responsive to our needs. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable fall foliage family getaway!!!

Charming getaway

A lovely place to ride out the remnants of two hurricanes...very snug and well equiped with games. Kids enjoyed the wildlife and swim toys on the sunny days, and we enjoyed watching the moon rise over the shimmering lake. Our host was very responsive and helpful. A lovely stay.

Rustic, lovely and relaxing

Beautiful setting on lake. 2 Kayaks were great, lake is nice and smooth so paddling was fun and relaxing. Parking is at the top and the house is below so there are stone steps leading to house and lake. Charles was helpful when we had questions and the whole process was very easy and simple. Definitely would stay here again!

I have been spending time at the house my whole life! Going there with my parents as a child, and more recently with friends, my wife and broader family. It represents the perfect getaway from the everyday city life. It is an easy place to be, allowing for a relaxing, carefree, cozy and most of all fun place to escape! There is plenty to do year round for both kids and adults, whether its a swim in the lake, a bbq right outside or going for a great hike right nearby on the Appalachian trail.
