Choose a seat from either of the front or back decks to relax and enjoy the incredible island and water views. Over 1,200 sq. ft. of covered deck space and outdoor living space! Located in a quiet section of East Beach subdivision with wide beaches and very little traffic, yet very convenient to the commercial district. The unique setting and private bridge driveway of this home amplifies that already private area of the beach. This home boasts double ocean side porches to sit back in your rocking chairs, gaze over the ocean, see the beach and feel the sea breezes through your hair. The inside of the home is very tastefully decorated so you can let all of your worries drift away and enjoy your vacation in comfort. The open floor plan allows gathering of the family throughout the upstairs. The dining room and family rooms have fabulous ocean views so even from indoors, you will have priceless views. Extra dining outside on the upstairs ocean front porch. All extra large porches will have plenty of seating to enjoy the views of the Ocean or the sound. This property was in desperate need of a coat of paint and a good scrub. A midseason quality control check of things like lightbulbs and drains and overall infrastructure working could have gone a long way. Location is great very close to the beach access. Restaurants and some shopping near by. Beach is lovely.

House was nice and well supplied with needed housewares. Great location and great view. Had some minor issues (ice maker/pool clean) and got no responses from property manager. Biggest disappointment was the house construction next door (did not show up on Google Maps or mentioned when booking). Constant (extremely loud) construction noise every day of the stay made our outdoor spaces (decks/pool) completely unusable.

Perfect Private Place

We loved the privacy and amenities of this beautiful house! It's well stocked, well furnished, and the kitchen is very well appointed. Views and privacy are unmatched among beachfront houses. We can't wait to come back!

Great property and great communication with property manager. We were able to check-in early on our arrival day and the house was nice and clean. My family and I were very pleased. Property is oceanfront and only a 2-3 minute walk to the beach from the house. My 8 year old son and I really enjoyed walking to the pier which was only half mile walk on the beach. The pool was small but perfect for the kids in the evening. Even the adults enjoyed it. Another plus is the outside shower at the pool. It has hot water and was where the kids would shower off after the beach and the pool. Would definitely book again for future dates. The only issue we had was the road flooding when it rained preventing us from leaving for a few hours.

Fabulous home with a beautiful view. Easy beach access and plenty of parking.

The house and view were wonderful. This was a great vacation house. The amenities inside the home were as expected with the exception of the mattresses. All of the small “queen” size mattresses seemed to be older than the home, uncomfortable and noisy. The stay would have been perfect if the beds had at least been average.

Awesome house with minor glitches

Family of 10 who came from all over during the "off season" in early June. The house: pretty, modern, clean. Pictures are spot on. The fixtures: new, the paint, fresh-looking. I called the rental co. leading up to the trip and they did not have more info than what was on the website; they read the amenities off the listing (which is why I'm trying to be thorough for future vacationers). I asked them to reach out to the owners for some answers but never heard back. Nearby: Lowes Foods delivers, Walmart= 5 miles away. Restaurants, a wine/beer shop and ABC liquor and plenty to do (mini golf, boats to charter, a pier, even helicopter tours. The house: Bottom level = carport for 2 cars, outdoor shower (hot running water) and pool with enclosed wooden gate. *These features were very convenient*. The pool is tiny...about a double hot tub, except it's not hot. We couldn't find a heater. The pool is shaded by the footprint of the house that sits atop it. We could not find ONE fire extinguisher on the entire property. You don't need it until you need it, so this is a safety oversight that's easily remedied. Games, puzzles, TVs in every room (more on this "glitch" later), and a BluRay DVD player in the common area; washer/dryer downstairs, kitchen with all the necessities. The sink with garbage disposal, a wine fridge off the kitchen. There are balconies on all floors (stairs inside and outside). No elevator so accessibility was a little trying on grandparents' knees. All bedrooms are on the bottom floor and adjoin with a bathroom except for one queen size bed/bath combo and a half bath on the top level. The wifi kicked it by Tuesday. It was an issue with equipment that needed to be updated. We were told by the cable company that new equipment was arriving the last day of our trip. inconvenient to say the least. Every TV is a hi-def flat screen. There are 2 AC units separated by floors. The place could use a vacuum. All we found was a broom and dustpan. This house is right on the beach, about 200 yards from the shoreline, with a public path leading directly to it. But it's not a high traffic area by any means. *The closeness of the beach was definitely convenient:* OKI wasn't easy for some in our party to get to (no non-stop flights from Miami or New York airports and Wilmington Airport is a 30-40 minute drive away). The beach itself was perfect! The flats extend several hundred feet off the shoreline. It was EXCELLENT for boogie boarding.

Beautiful and restful

Had a great vacation here. The house is fantastic - just as the pictures show - and the views from the porches of the ocean are awesome. The ocean is close, so it was easy to get our little 19-mo old back and forth with minimal effort. Overall, exactly the easy-going, relaxing beach vacation we were looking for.

Great location, perfect for families!

Immaculate home, with an excellent view of the ocean. Perfect for large families. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the privacy of the location. Everything was exactly as listed and they were a pleasure to work with. Lots of room, great porch with plenty of rockers, nice kitchen.

Good beach location

This house is relatively new construction and very comfortable. Location is ocean-front, as advertised, and it is a very short walk to the beach in front of the house. Pictures of rooms are accurate. Pool is VERY small. About the size of a large hot tub, but it is not a hot tub. Actually not a very useful pool. It's too deep (about 3 to 3 1/2 feet deep) for very small children, and not big enough for older children to do much of anything. The most disappointing aspect was the rental agency - Better Beach Rentals. They provided NO information in advance. When I called them a week ahead of check in they gave me the address of their office and told me to check in there at 3 PM. However, our check-in day was a Sunday and they did NOT tell me they are CLOSED on Sundays! When we arrived there was a line of people waiting outside in the sun and heat. One of them had called the after-hours number posted on the door and said the guy would be there in about 15 minutes. However it was 30 minutes before he arrived. After signing the necessary papers we asked for directions to the house and he DID NOT KNOW! We were shocked that there were no written directions, no address for the house, and no map to the house. By using Google maps we got to the general vicinity and eventually found our way to the driveway. After entering the house we found that it contained none of the usual "starter" items such as a trash bag or toilet paper! It also turned out that the internet password written on our key envelop was wrong. It was a careless mistake by whomever in the office wrote it, but because there was no one at the office we could not get that straightened out until Monday. Another needless aggravation for the first day. In 30 years of renting vacation homes, condos, timeshares, etc., we have never had such an aggravating check-in process. Although I would consider renting this particular house again, I would never deal with Better Beach Rentals again.
