Enjoy beautiful ocean views from this top-floor condo. Located just across the street from Charlie Young Beach, and provides easy access to the other Kamaole Beaches and the "Cove". King bed in master, and twins in the loft. Rates are based on 4 guests maximum.
The popular vacation rental complex Maui Vista is also convenient to shopping and restaurants. Resort amenities of 3 swimming pools, 6 tennis courts, and 3 BBQ areas. Beach gear includes 2 coolers, 4 beach chairs, beach towels, 2 boogie board, 1 umbrella, and sand toys.
*AC note
This unit is cooled by older technology that is expensive to operate and isn't very effective. I no longer advertise this property as "air conditioned". It currently has 1 24k BTU window AC unit in the living room supplemented with 4 ceiling and 3 standing fans spread throughout. If you require indoor temperatures in the 70's, I suggest looking for a central air rental.

Amazing sunset views!!

This condo was perfect for our family vacation. The kids loved having the loft upstairs. Sunsets on our balcony were gorgeous. Well stocked with beach chairs, towels and a cooler. The only thing I wish we had in the condo were beach toys for the kids. Was great being in building one for beach access. Was a short walk across the street to Charlie young. The owner was easy to communicate with if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful vacation in a great location!

Great location, well equipped kitchen. All the beach gear available is a big plus! Will definitely keep this in mind when I return to Kihei.

Good home base

This is not a fancy place, and that suited us just fine. The only reason for 3 stars is the heat in the bedroom downstairs. That room really needs A/C.

Kihei Sunsets

The unit is well set up for a family or 2 couples. It is comfortable and well appointed. A real bonus is having all the beach gear you could want. Jim the host is quick to respond and very helpful.

Unit as described. Beautiful location. Building owners/staff unwelcoming/harassing

This unit was exactly as described. A bit outdated and in need of proper AC but fit what needed perfectly. Unit owners and condo management company were easy to deal with. Location is perfect. However, other unit owners and building staff were rude and unwelcoming. We were in Maui for a wedding and we rented about 10 units in Maui vista. We were followed by other unit owners and even had our photos taken while they called security at 4PM because we were BBQing and they felt we didn’t belong. Rules clearly state large groups bbqing should ensure others can also use the bbqs, so we decided to eat together once during our stay and chose 4PM so it would not interfere with others. Within 10 minutes security came to tell us that no more than 10 people could be together outside. He asked for our room numbers and stood there watching us pack up food etc and would not leave until most of us had left. Meanwhile 2 older people (owners) stood on upper walkways pacing and staring and taking photos of us. (We had no music and were quietly chatting OUTSIDE at 4PM) A few people in our group were also harassed by security while playing tennis in the afternoon due to “noise complaints” about 4 people playing tennis outside in the afternoon. If other owners and building management do not want these units rented out to families maybe they should stop renting them. As a mature woman it is very disheartening to have security stand there and ensure you have gone back to your unit when you really were just trying to enjoy a meal the night before a family wedding. This was not in any way a loud raucous party and we were in no way disturbing anyone, except the obvious fun police who own there. We each paid multiple thousands of dollars to stay and did not appreciate being treated like criminals. I would NOT recommend Maui Vista for anyone who wants to do anything other than sleep there.

Easy to communicate with property manager. Convenient location. Appreciated that many beach supplies including chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkel gear and boogie boards were provided. Made everything simple and easy to enjoy. Will definitely be back ! Thanks to Jim for his hospitality !

Perfect Location!

This property is in the ideal location. It is located on South Kihei Road, directly across the street from beach access. There is a view of the ocean and pool from the third floor balcony. The furniture was a little dated but all functional. The wifi was fast and worked throughout the unit. The owners leave snorkel gear, boogie boards, chairs and coolers for tenant use, which came in handy. The pools, tennis courts and barbecue areas are well maintained and easy to access. Pubs, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores are within easy walking distance. We recommend the Lava Grill for great Happy Hour prices, quality and atmosphere. Staff very is friendly. (3:00 pm - 6 pm Daily). There is an awesome ABC store a block away that offers fresh coffee, fruit, sandwiches, and breakfast and lunch items to order for take-out. Although there is only one AC unit, with the use of fans it was able to cool off the entire condo. The only issue was that the shower head in the main washroom needs to be pointed toward the wall (as per instructions in the shower), otherwise it floods the bathroom floor. That should probably be addressed by the owners. The clothes dryer venting system is also interesting, but I think they may be the same in all the condo units. Overall, our family would rent this unit again. Really can’t beat the location!

Awesome location and amenities

This location is perfect! Charlie Young Beach across the street is not as crazy as some of the other beaches and it's so close! The pool was great too and what a view from the lanai! The complex is quiet and well maintained. Couldn't ask for more.

Amazing stay

This condo has everything and more for a seamless vacation. It is very well laid out, very clean, and has all necessary essentials. The view? Spectacular!! The location is perfect, and the beach across the street is just the best. The keyless entry was ideal as we arrived very late at night and didn’t have to disturb anyone to give us a key. We also had a late flight for our return home and the owner allowed us a late checkout so we didn’t have to hang at the airport all day. Fantastic stay overall. Mahalo Jim 🙂

Perfect for our family

We were so happy with this condo! We were able to cook most of our meals, the condo had everything we could need. The condo was also stocked with all that you would need for the beach. Excellent location!

Awesome 10 days in Maui!

Thank you so much for lending us your lovely home for our first getaway since the pandemic started. The house was stocked with tons of great amenities and we also paid some forward upon our exit.. Enjoy the new snorkel sets! The condo was in a perfect location adjacent to the beach, bars and restaurants, and lots of good walking. Can’t wait to come back someday. Mahalo from San Francisco

Perfect Holiday Vacation!

Our stay at the Maui Vista 1-406 was perfect from initially booking the condo 18 months ago, until we left Maui yesterday. The condo is presented 100% correctly, with no surprises. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

As promised

Just want to give a few pro's and con's for this property for future guests. Overall our experience was great. Pro's: manager was GREAT to work with, location is good, unit was spotless and had everything you need for your trip. Tennis courts were amazing. Con's: as advertised, it can get HOT. We happen to be there when it was very hot and NO tradewinds. There was also a fire close by so we had to close the windows. I think it would be fine when those trade winds blow through or not in the summer season. The only other con was the pool - it is tiny and got very warm, almost like a hot tub. Since it was so hot, it was not refreshing. The pool would be fine for small kids but was a bit small for teenagers. Overall, this place is a great value and well cared for.

Needs a A/C!

The property was clean and the location was great. The problem arose when the whole apartment has windows that don't fully shut and a tiny 6k BTU A/C for the entire apartment. Wow, it was hot all day and never got better at night. The back bedroom was so hot I slept on the couch for the week- not fun.

The location is ideal. Very close to beach.

Location is outstanding - right by the beach! We had everything we needed. Plenty of sheets and towels, kitchen is fully equipped, easy to find parking place. Quiet at night - we slept well. We had 5 people in our family, so it was cozy but perfectly adequate in size. We had a great time! I recommend this condo!

Great location, looks well cared for

I’ve stayed in a number of these units in Maui Vista building one. They are doing better than average in this one. The cleaner is doing a five star job. The location is awesome. The views are exactly what you’d expect from the pictures. The floors, kitchen and two bathrooms are much better than most of the units in the complex. I’d totally rent it again. There was more gear for the beach with towels and chairs than I’m used to on HomeAway. A few subjective and constructive ideas: the downstairs bed is not ideal, and the pillows sucked enough I’d rather bring/buy new pillows for them. The kitchen has everything you’ll need but the knives can’t be sharpened and as in all rentals are dangerously dull. Even the knife sharpener was dull! Finally, the lanai was furnished in a pretty useless way. But the location, renovations and cleanliness make it worth your attention. It’s among the best I’ve found for the price. Thanks for a memorable and fun-filled stay.

We have been coming to the Hawaiian Islands from Seattle every year since 1972. We visited Maui most often and sunny Kihei is our favorite. Love the beaches for walking, swimming and snorkeling. Retired now and plan to spend more time here.

We looked at a lot of condos and found this was centrally located near our 2nd favorite beach. Most units only had views from their lanai, and some you had to be outside and turn to the right or left. Our unit allows you to enjoy the view from our living room and even while cooking in the kitchen.
