La Tortuga #10 is located on the top floor overlooking the pool and the sparkling waters of Akumal's Half Moon Bay beyond!

This spacious and nicely appointed condo features 2 bedrooms, each with King sized bed and private bathroom with shower and nice Mexican tile detail. The guest bedroom also has a single bed for the 5th person.

- The master bedroom also has a giant sunken bathtub. It has a large open plan living and dining area with sliders that open out onto the terrace, affording great views out over the bay. the living room has comfortable seating and a flat screen TV with satellite programming.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a breakfast bar for extra dining seating. There is WiFi internet throughout the condo and air conditioning in the bedrooms only.

Outside on the terrace that spans the width of the condo, are hammocks for snoozing in the warm Caribbean breeze!

Hacienda de La Tortuga boasts a very nice beach side pool, an onsite gourmet restaurant (La Lunita), and plenty of sun loungers and shady palapas on the white sandy beach in front. There is also WiFi access all the way out to the beach for those who like to stay connected while working on their tan!

Hacienda de la Tortuga is located in the northern central part of Half Moon Bay, within walking distance of plenty of amenities including the Akumal Adventures dive shop. The bay in front of the condo is great for snorkeling as the reef comes very close to the shore, and it is home to a wide diversity of marine life including endangered sea turtles!

Hacienda de la Tortuga #10 is comfortable and bright, and a perfect option for small families or groups of friends.

Great View From Penthouse

Had a wonderful stay at the property. View of Half Moon Bay is spectacular from the penthouse we rented. Very well managed, clean, well equipped. Would stay there again!

Lovely place to stay

The property manager was so helpful, great restaurant on location, great views of the beach, patio area very large for relaxing. Stairs to get to room, which we did not mind, but something to consider if you have ambulatory issues. We would stay there again in a heartbeat !!!!

Perfect Christmas Getaway

This condo provided the perfect setting for our family of 4 during Christmas week. The property manager was excellent at communicating in advance of our trip. Loved the low key (non commercial) community, the beautiful beach, kind people, and the fantastic restaurants. There is plenty to do that is close by but it is also a fabulous setting if you want to just relax. We would definitely return!

Wonderful stay!

This is a perfect location! We were two couples and the space was wonderful. Having the restaurant downstairs is a great perk and Yakul right around the corner was easy. A walk to town is about 20 minutes. You can snorkel right off the beach. We were very happy with our stay and definitely appreciated the ac units in the bedrooms.

Most relaxing vacation ever!

My husband, sister and I enjoyed a 9 day visit to Akumal, staying at Hacienda de la Tortuga. Condo 10 has the most fabulous view and accommodations were wonderful. We found Lunita restaurant on the ground level of the building to have the best food and service in Akumal. Walking distance to Yal Ku for fantastic snorkeling or snorkel right out your back door in Half Moon Bay. We will definitely visit again!

Best place in Akumal!

We have stayed here multiple times and continue to come back! The condo is right on the beach with beautiful views of Half Moon Bay. The condo is beautifully decorated and has everything you need from snorkeling to cooking meals. There is a wonderful restaurant on the main level of the condo, and is walking distance to many other fabulous places to eat and drink! Some of the best snorkeling is right off the beach in the bay! We highly recommend this condo for a relaxing fun vacation!

Great condo and location!

Just as advertised! i liked that it was inside the gated / manned security gate of Akumal. The condo had a nice breeze throughout the day, and the bedrooms were both roomy and comfortable. I enjoyed the hammock on the patio, and although I did not cook, while I was there, everything was set up in the kitchen that I wouldā€™ve needed. The pool was in great condition, and lounge area very comfortable. The onsite restaurant was a definite plus. I definitely recommend this location!

Absolutely perfect!

The property was ideal, the snorkeling in half moon bay, in front of the condo, was the best area around! The layout of the house and the amenities were perfect for our family of three. The restaurant downstairs was by far the best in Akumal. We had a rental car though we really didnā€™t need it. Super easy to rent bikes in the town square, and the office was easy to work with to book day trips.

Akumal paradise

As advertised. Great condo. Only thing they could improve is the locks on the glass slider were aged and tricky to use. However those were behind a separate locked door. Overall the place seemed very safe. On fourth floor with no elevator, so plan to get your steps in. We really enjoyed the condo, would stay again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been coming to Akumal for many many many years and have stayed at the Tortuga several times. This will be my last visit to Akumal. I suspect that I am not alone...the place was deserted although it admittedly was the end of low season.

The condo itself is very nice. Great location, views and amazing restaurant downstairs! What I didn't realize was that there was daily maid service, as I've never had that with a VRBO. While a nice treat, as one concerned with the environment, I prefer not have the daily cleaning service. Unfortunately, this was not an option (even on the days when I gently requested "no necessita lavar . . . "). Aside from that, easy walking to everything, fabulous views, can't be any closer to the beach and La Lunita is a must for dinner, happy hour and as desired!

AMAZING place to spend 5 days with my besties

We are 4 friends who always look for a new place to go- Akumal and this condo were the perfect spot for us! The condo was clean, breezy, and comfy with colorful decor and all amenities we needed. We had a view of the bay which was stunning, especially when thunderclouds rolled in. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning and cocktails on the beach in the late afternoon. We snorkeled right off the beach out front and even spotted a couple turtles. We ate at La Lunita restaurant below a couple of nights which was yummy and convenient (even though more expensive than other options) and rented a golf cart to explore around the village a couple of days. Maid service was everyday, which us mamas appreciated. We hope to return in the future! Highly recommend this spot for a chill getaway.

The property was wonderful. The apartment has an amazing ocean view!

This property worked perfectly for our 4 day stay in Akumal with two couples. Besides the great view it had very cold air conditioning and hot water. We didn't cook, but the apartment seemed to have everything we would need if we wanted to. The hammock on the balcony and the jugs of fresh water were an added bonus! .Just be prepared to climb some stairs because it's a 4 story walk up. But the view is more than worth it. The check in and out was seamless and the staff was very friendly. There are some great thached beach shades reserved for guests on some of the best sand in Half Moon Bay. There is also nice little beachside restaurant that gives a 15% discount for guests. My only wish is that there was a second set of keys provided. It was a little hard to coordinate keeping the place locked/unlocked with couples who sometimes separated to go on different adventures. But other than that, everything was great!

Great Relaxing Stay

We loved our time spent at Hacienda La Tortuga #10. Perfect for a relaxing trip with everything we needed on site. Decor was lovely with nice touches and great colors. Master bed and pillows were super comfortable. Nice ocean breezes and sound of waves lulled us to sleep every night. Fantastic views from living, dining and bedroom. Enjoyed the patio space and views that came along with it. Nice feeling of separation being on the 4th floor. Pool at complex was nice and beach was wonderful with nice snorkeling from shore. Cannot say enough about La Lunita restaurant on site. Ate many meals here and each one was delightful. Enjoyed cocktails on the beach from the bar often. Servers were friendly. Well located for easy bike ride into town (6-10 minutes). Town has several other restaurants. Had a massage at Bhudda Spa and Gardens and snorkeled Yal-Kul Lagoon which is right around the corner from the unit. Yal- Kul was awesome and we were surprised how much we loved it. My husband is an avid diver and he raved about Yal -Kul. Worth the visit. Scheduled dives at Akumal Dive Shop and liked their staff and instructors. All within a bike ride.....no car necessary. Only downside was low water pressure and one shower not working. but hard to care or complain when you are in such a fantastic environment.

Perfect Getaway!

Akumal Direct was fantastic to work with for our first trip to Mexico. They responded quickly to inquiries and sent detailed directions and check in info prior to arrival. We had a late check-in, and the night security guard assisted us in finding our key (ready in an envelope). The on site property manager Roberto was available during the day and sent up a refill of filtered water immediately upon request. We were traveling with an infant and decided to do a vacation condo instead of an all-inclusive resort - so glad we made that decision. North Akumal is a quiet community. We were there the week after Thanksgiving before peak season and often had the beach and pool to ourselves. We bought groceries at the general store in Akumal and ate out at local restaurants for dinners. We loved La Buena Vida, La Lunita (both on the beach with tables in the sand and palm trees above), as well as AK and Jungla Cafe on the jungle side. We always had the windows open to enjoy the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. It was hot/humid, so we used AC in the bedrooms at nights and slept comfortably. We LOVED snorkeling in Half Moon Bay (free!) and did pay for a snorkeling tour in Akumal Bay so we could see sea turtles (can go out for free but a bit of hassle). We had a rental car, and that made it easier to drive into Akumal (for groceries and snorkeling). It also gave us the freedom to check out a cenote nearby, and we made the drive to Chichen Itza one day. It was a fabulous trip!

Reviewer Comments: Tucked in the back corner at the end of the road in Akumal this place gives you a nearly private beach with natural sand and a sheltered bay that lets you feel safe swimming out a couple hundred meters in. La lunita in the bottom of the building serves fantastic food and the apartment itself had a great view and all necessary amenities for an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful view of Half Moon Bay

We really liked the condo, the proximity to the beach and restaurants. Only problem was the stairs. They are very narrow, steep and without proper handrails. We made it up and down - we range in age from 65 to 75 - but we limited the number of trips. We all felt if we had been on the 3rd instead of the 4th floor it would not have been a problem. We love Hacienda de la Tortuga but will only stay on a floor below the 4th. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable.

Restful Stay

This property was well maintained and in a quiet part of Rivera Maya. The view of the Caribbean was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening. The beach is walkable, but has lots of coral, definitely needed water shoes. Cool little tide pools at the north end of the beach. The plaza has a couple of fun restaurants and was a nice walk from the condo. We also enjoyed Lunita, located downstairs. We dined in once and had take out a couple times. Our favorite discovery was the Akumal monkey sanctuary. Located just a short drive away. We booked the full tour with Atv, cenote and monkey experience and it was so much fun!!ā€™ They are doing great work and it felt good to support their work. Would definitely recommend this property and hope we have an opportunity to visit again.?

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first trip outside the United States since COVID. Everything about this trip was beautiful. For 14 days we live in paradise. The Hacienda de la Touriga penthouse did not disappoint. The restaurant connected to the condos had a variety of dishes and wonderful drinks. This is the place to stay in Akumal.
