Loose Moose Lodge is a four-bedroom, three-bath lakefront home that sits on the south side of Lake Lure on the main channel. Amazing views of the mountains and lake! This is one of the original cabins on the lake and has a rustic lodge feel. If you yearn to breathe fresh air and be on beautiful Lake Lure, Loose Moose Lodge is a great choice. Relax on either of the two back decks in this very serene setting that overlooks Lake Lure's beautiful mountains and waters.

The home is perfect for families, friends, and couples. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, sightseeing, and much more. We feel confident you will enjoy your vacation at "Loose Moose Lodge."

This lakefront beauty is 1.4 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 5 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 18 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Family Gathering

What a great property! Kitchen was very well appointed, which we greatly appreciated. We were travelling with a toddler, so the gated lower level deck worked perfectly for a huge ā€œplaypenā€. WiFi was great it was a really great touch to have the extra tank of gas for the grill right there. It was a nice quiet neighborhood for our visit. We will be back!

First annual family vacation

Loved the location of the property and the amount of space in the home. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of recreation room throughout. The downstairs bedroom was a bit musty It had dehumidifier and fan but it was a somewhat noisy. There were sufficient start up supplies for all our needs. Perfect for our family and will definitely want to return! Will know to bring some blow up rafts for the river next time.

Great Location

Everything about the Cabin was great, the commutation with the Property Manager, arrival instructions, well stacked kitchen, etc. the only problem is that we rented a cabin with a lake view to enjoy the amazing scenery, however when we got to the cabin we found out that the lake was EMPTY, no water, we should have been warned when making the rear that they empty the lake at this time of the year I would have selected another Mountain View cabin. FUN! But bring your own everything house

The "driveway" is EXTREME. And slightly terrifying if you are not used to this type of switch back and steeeepness. Even the grocery delivery person said it was tough. Also, the parking is tight. The house we stayed in is second to the last. The last house is very adamant not to block their driveway. Upon arrival the house smells musty and has several moldy spots on the ceiling. Especially the "master" bedroom.There is an actual hole near the right side of the fireplace. Looks like water damage. There are mouse traps and sticky traps. And you can hear things running above you at night. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans. There is only garlic, salt and pepper for seasoning. So I'd say bring your own seasoning. There is only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll, or half roll, of paper towels. The shampoo and conditioner is "one use" size. There is no laundry soap. And no lake towels. Only bath towels. The outside decks need work. A start would be cleaning them. The deck on the lake needs some repairs bc of wood rot. There are so many nail heads sticking out its dangerous. No floats, paddle boards or kayaks. There is no way to use your cell phone to make a call. The internet is on and off. Can't even contact property manager unless you leave the house. Good things, beds are comfy, views are to die for, spacious house! Fun house! It was clean.

Lake Lure Fall Break

We enjoyed our time at the Loose Moose, including all the different areas to spread out and convenience to all area attractions. We would have enjoyed some kayaks or canoes but will bring them next time!

Surprisingly spacious, pics donā€™t do it justice! We rebooked for next year!

In a world full of screens, our eyes were full of beauty, sparking water, mountains, sunrises ans sunsets. Our teens were so excited it was like Christmas! More spacious than anticipated, casual and unpretentious. Definitely stay, older property probably one of original, multiple decks, spectacular views.

We had a great time at this property. It is in a great location on the water. It was clean upon arrival. We did encounter a few small issues. During the day the temperature inside the upstairs would get around 82 degrees. The air conditioning was not able to keep the house at a reasonable temperature for summer. I contacted the rental company and it took two days for someone to come out and check on the air and they basically just said the unit can't keep up. We also told the rental company during that same phone call that only one burner was working. To use the other burners you had to manually lite them. Nobody ever came out to look at that problem. Overall a great place for a family but it was very hot in the house during the day.

Very nice view older lake house

The 5 star view is the selling point of this house. It is truly beautiful view as advertised. The house is older and there are a few things which need attention. The deck on the boat dock area is truly rotting away and the middle feels like it could fall through at any minute. There was some trash below the deck ( plastic cups,plates) which should have been cleaned up from previous guests considering the cleaning fee is substantial. The dishwasher was broken and we ate all of our dinners there so had to wash dishes by hand. Beds were comfortable. Screen porch was nice. Overall, the view is so good, I would return if there was some maintainance and repairs on the house.
