Tucked away on 80 acres of rolling foothills, you will relax and create lifelong memories with the people you love. We loved our stay at Higuera Ranch and would definitely stay again. We booked this place for an annual trip with friends and it was perfect. We loved all of the outdoor space and the living room was very cozy. The guest house is a little bit of a walk from the main house (just as advertised!) so we just shuttled between them in a car while it was raining. The waterslide was a hit, despite our group being all adults and one infant. Kristin was communicative and clear and the place was exactly as expected which was perfect for our group.

Higuera Ranch is an AMAZING place!

We picked Higuera Ranch for a family reunion vacation for 15 people ages 2-77 and everyone LOVED IT! The property is stunning and very well maintained. It has everything from a pool with a slide, big grassy fields, vineyards, mature trees, walking trails and a friendly goats, chickens, cows and more. The host communicated well and made sure that everything went well with our stay. We were so happy with our stay that we rebooked for next year's family vacation. We can't wait to return to Higuera Ranch! 100% recommend for anyone looking for a great place in San Luis Obispo.

2025 Family Trip

This property was everything we could have hoped for! Our annual family trip of 20 people, ages 9 - 71, where a good time was had by all! Beautiful grounds, peaceful surroundings, tranquil nights under the stars, and many exciting activities close by! What more could you ask for? This trip will go down as a special one in the memory books! Thank you, Kristen, for your hospitality and warm welcome! It was amazing!

The Ranch

Stucky Wedding

We had the best time gathering with friends and family in preparation for the wedding. All who came to visit loved the house and the grounds. We easily accommodated 50-60 people for the Rehearsal dinner and would have had room for another 50! Chris and Kristen made our stay worry free by taking care of any questions or needs we may have had. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Getaway

What an amazing stay! Booking was a breeze, and Chris, the caretaker was very helpful and accommodating. A large group of us, 6 families, decided to rent out the main house, the guest house, and the room above the garage. As soon as we drove up, we couldn’t believe how beautiful the property was. Exactly as described, and even better than the pictures! No need to write an extended review as I would likely rave as everyone else already has. We had tentative plans to check out SLO and surroundings but none of us wanted to leave the pool and the relaxing atmosphere. We spent the time swimming, BBQing, and enjoying each other’s company. Looking forward to returning again soon!

The most spectacular venue for a wedding here on the central coast

We chose to make this not only a Wedding event but a mini vacation stayed here 5 nights and so glad and blessed we did !!! We have lived here on the central coast for our entire lives and knew one day this area would be where our children were married !! As luck would have it this Venue popped up as I was researching places in our area on vrbo and it was completely perfect for our family it happened to be the weekend of our grandmothers birthday which made this even more special it was tranquil in the mornings peaceful the houses were well equipped and just stunning !!!! I would not change one Thing ! Chris was very helpful during our stay and was attentive to anything we needed ! Kristen was very organized and everything fell into place for us . We truly thank Kristen and Higuera Ranch for Making this one of the most memorable weeks of our lives !!

Great weekend vacation!

It was great to pull up to the property and see everyone in our car have their jaws drop at how picturesque the whole scene was. Myself and a group of 8 friends rented this property for a weekend in June and everything was perfect. The house was comfortably furnished and allowed for us to relax after a long day of ATVing and touring the downtown SLO area. We also hired a driver to take us to tour the Firestone Brewery in Paso Robles. If someone were to book this place to go wine tasting or drinking of any kind, I would definitely recommend hiring a driver; the turn off to the property is very short off the freeway and be a little dicey when there is a lot of traffic. Despite being close to the highway, the property itself is very peaceful. The pool and hot tub definitely contributed to the pleasure of our stay. The property manager was on site and very attentive to whatever we needed. I would definitely reserve this place if I had to organize another vacation in the area for a group of 8 or more people.

Outstanding Property for vacation or special occasion!

Higuera Ranch was the optimal location to host our extended family group for a long Cal Poly graduation weekend. We had about 25 people stay on the property (including our friends in their fancy RV), and we hosted a really fun party in the rustic barn for 60 people. The property is spectacular and better than the pictures online. It includes: 2 large 4-bedroom homes, a 1-bed guest cottage, beautiful swimming pool/spa with water slide, a rustic barn with tables/chairs for 100+, and a wine tasting bar in a separate building. The on-site caretaker, Chris, was helpful in answering questions before & during the weekend, and even moved two antique cars to the barn entrance for us to provide party ambiance. Kristin, the owner/booking contact, was very helpful with local contacts and creative party ideas. The kitchen in the main house was well suited to host a party with butler's pantry, 2 fridges, Viking range and storage. I polled our guests, and they appreciated the very comfortable beds, the warm pool/spa/waterslide, the barn location that allowed for a perfect party, and the opportunity to hangout away from busy downtown SLO. Only drawbacks we encountered were a need for signage on the freeway to help guests find the place (we made signs & put them up) and a lack of toiletries in the bathrooms (bring your own). Overall, a perfect weekend! Thanks Kristin & Chris.

Great Girls Trip!

Twelve mature (well, most of the time- Lol!) women visited this mostly wonderful property for our annual girls trip in February. The property was amazing, perfect for a wedding, with two homes; The farmhouse would be perfect for the bride's family and the second home, just a short walk away, would be great for the groom and his guests. There's also a small guest quarters over the garage which would serve for the bride/or couple. I/we spent quite a bit of time imagining how you could take the property and create the perfect wedding. However, to be honest, I should share a few downsides. The property could use some maintenance to keep it in the best condition -though I can only imagine the difficulties in maintaining a large rental. We had a problem with mice. We trapped one in the bathroom and called the property manager for help. A few well placed traps before our arrival would have probably done the trick. As always it seems, bring your own knives if you plan on cooking. Rentals knives are dull. On the whole it was a great trip. P.S. Downtown SLO was a wonderful afternoon shopping/dining stroll. Don't miss it! Thanks so much!

Mixed Family Weekend Getaway With a Wedding Sprinked In

We hosted a four-day family weekend for our newly combined family who traveled from as far as Louisiana in mid-April. Sprinkled into the fun was a wedding ceremony & reception with about 80 guests. Higuera Ranch was the perfect location for us to host such a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience for us (the newlyweds) and everyone who joined us. Kristin was helpful and thoughtful from the moment we walked onto the property to view it all way to days after we'd left the ranch. The onsite manager Chris was also very helpful and a had friendly "hello" whenever we ran into him on the property or had to call him for support. We utilized practically the whole property including the two permanent houses, the barn, the fire pit at the main house, RV parking and the shooting range. The remote location made it feel as if we were on our own little island but just a short drive from the "real" world with Costco & grocery stores. Kristin has beautifully furnished and decorated both houses mixing country chic with all the comforts of home. As for the wedding, Higuera Ranch is a perfect blank template for anyone who doesn't want the cookie-cutter banquet hall. The rustic barn has the look but all the stability one wants when hosting loved ones. We went simple and focused on the food and fun but there is so much that can be done with such a beautiful and basic venue. We were also the first rain wedding ... and boy did it rain. Chris' advice on table placement worked out perfect and at night with the gas fire pit raging our guests didn't even mind the light rain that was still falling. Additionally, Kristin's suggested vendor list was a goldmine of quality companies. All in all it was "the best wedding ever" (from many of our guests) and one of the best family vacations. I highly recommend Higuera Ranch to anyone who wants a memorable weekend stay with or without the big party.

Silveira Wedding Weekend

Going to keep this short because if you just visit this place once, you'll see what I'm talking about. The entire ranch is an amazing place in itself. The two beautiful homes we stayed in are truly dream homes. Chris, the manager, who we have become friends with over the past year, made our entire experience there very relaxed and he was very helpful in all aspects. The reception venue (barn and olive grove) worked out perfect, and you can have an amazing dinner either inside or outside making it less stressful when worrying about weather. We received so many compliments on our wedding about how fun and relaxed it was, and a lot of that had to do with how everything is set up and ran there at the ranch. Wish we could go back every weekend. Thanks Kristin

Amazing venue for a wedding

What an incredible place for a wedding! The ranch is beautiful, the houses are comfortable, and Chris and Kristin are extremely helpful. We spent four days at Higuera Ranch (Thursday-Sunday) and used nearly every part of the ranch: the lawn by the houses for a rehearsal dinner, the tasting room for a wine tasting, the olive grove for our ceremony, the vineyard and fig tree for a cocktail hour, and the barn for reception. I would recommend this as a wedding venue and as a house rental.

our dream wedding venue

Higuera Ranch was the perfect place to host our wedding. We held the ceremony in olive grove, and the rolling hills in the background were breathtaking. It was so easy to move to cocktail hour on the neighboring patio and then to our reception in the barn. The best part was having all the houses on site where our relatives could stay, making it very convenient for our grandparents to go to bed when they wanted, and to ensure that we could enjoy ourselves without having to worry about when we'd end the party. Both houses are super nice with tons of space. The amenities, like bocce ball and horseshoes were lots of fun. Kristin and the property manager Chris were SO helpful during our entire stay. This is definitely a phenomenal space to host any kind of family reunion or celebration with a big group.

Everything we thought it would be and more!

My husband and I were looking to get married somewhere where we could house our small group and get married right on the property. Higuera Ranch was the answer to our prayers! Because our family and friends are spread out over the country, we decided to make our wedding a little vacation for them. We stayed on the ranch for three nights. We got married right on the property and had our reception in the beautiful barn. I can not express enough gratification. The houses were very clean, big enough to house our guests, and plenty of bathrooms. We aren't from the area so we were clueless on wedding vendors. Kristen sent us her recommendations which all turned out to be wonderful. She is also very quick to respond to any questions you have. Chris (the property manager) was amazing. He helped us with anything we needed (trash removal, decorating the barn, sticking around in case anything went wrong). He is so kind and sweet, you will love him! I highly recommend this property for an event or even a weekend away with some friends and family. In fact, we will be back!

Heaven on earth

This amazing ranch was perfect for our dream wedding. It was more than what we imagined. Kristin and Chris were unbelievably amazing and literally worked so hard so our day was perfect. The house was perfect for family and rehearsal, the bbq made dinners easy and family get together friendly. The house was perfect for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in and take so many great photos as well as just relax by the pool with a glass of champagne. The property itself is a dream. We were so blessed to be able to call this our home and wedding destination for 3 days. Thank you Higuera Ranch. Our lives are changed forever.

The icing on the cake!

You never know what you're getting into when you rent homes off the internet. You're only going by the pictures the property posts. Let me tell you, their pictures DO NOT do this property justice. This place was simply amazing. We had a large group stay here for my wedding weekend. I was a little nervous cramming so many people into one space and everything and feeling comfortable. It was so roomy and open everyone felt great and had their own private space. Aside from this amazing place, everyone you talk to are amazing! Chris the groundskeeper/manager and Kristin the owner are the most helpful fantastic people. Always making sure we had everything we needed. Great hospitality! This place is a must stay for any type of event, large or small party! This place was truley the icing on the cake for perfecting my wedding weekend!

An amazing weekend!!

The house was perfect for a reunion of Cal Poly Friends. Their is plenty of room for everyone. The rooms are nice and the kitchen is perfect for entertaining. Outside is really where it's at. No neighbors to worries about, amazing views, an insane Santa Maria style BBQ, horse shoes, bocce ball court, a great pool, huge hot tub, oh and a really fun water slide. Which ended being fun for the big kid in all of us. I recommend this to any group, or for any event. It's a little hard to find but you'll manage. Grounds keeper a great guy and took care of everything.

Great secret little spot close to town

We rented the place for a girls getaway weekend and we had a fabulous time. We had 15 ladies so we rented the main house and the guest house and there was a bed ( at least shared) for everyone. The main house was our main hang out and there was plenty of space for everyone to be more than comfortable. The two refrigerators was key for food and drinks for that many people. The setting of the house was very picturesque and the decor while very nice was also very comfortable and homey. The pool is not only beautiful but it was a Godsend since we were there on a particularly hot weekend and it was needed for relief. That is about the only drawback to the main house (No A/C) but we survived and I would do it again knowing that. The water slide was great fun for adults so I imagine the kiddos love it. The house has a great sound system for enjoying music both in and out doors. The property has a ton of privacy but so close to town. Most locals don't know about it, uber rides were only $11 (one way) and slo safe rides $5 per person. Chris the care taker was super helpful and response times from Kristin were quick. All in all it was a great stay.

Best SLO experience

Upon arrival at the ranch, we were impressed by the charm of the main house. Once we stepped inside, it was even more amazing. The high ceiling, commercial grade kitchen, large master suite and the pool was just too much to take in, and so much fun to explore. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought behind it to make it the best experience while you stay there. Even with a large group, you won't feel crowded. Our group enjoyed relaxing by the pool and playing board games at night in a secluded property so much that we didn't want to leave. The pictures don't do it justice because it's so much nicer and bigger when you see it in person. The only thing I would improve is to have signage on the road so it's more visible, especially for night time.

An Absolutely Wonderful Retreat

We recently returned from our fantastic trip to San Luis Obispo and our equally fantastic stay at Higuera Ranch. What a lovely home and such a perfect location for 15 of us to meet up on an annual reunion trip for people coming primarily from Los Angeles and the Bay Area. The experience of driving onto the property and passing the old rustic barn, the olive trees and the vineyards, and then arriving at the beautiful home is unique and breathtaking. The main house is gorgeous and has a welcoming feel with comfortable furnishings and a great kitchen. You'll immediately see the pool and spa and the kids went crazy for the water slide. The outdoor grill is something special too, it's the kind you see at big ranches where they barbecue for tons of people at once. The property is huge with fun amenities like a horseshoe court and it's own freestanding gym. We spent a lot of time in the pool, playing games, cooking great meals, and just plain hanging out. We took advantage of the other house on the property as well, which is a five minute walk up the road and gave everyone in our group the chance to have their own bed and in most cases, their own rooms and bathrooms. There were trips to the nearby beach, visits to wineries, and some hiking excursions as well; all within just a few minutes of the property. Markets, coffee shops, and restaurants, were all close too. There is plenty to do in SLO, but to be honest, it is hard to leave Higuera Ranch because it is so beautiful and comfortable. Kristin made the process of booking her property easy and painless. Something we've come to appreciate more and more. And the groundskeeper Chris was equally as pleasant and helpful. Anything that we needed, Chris was there within minutes. If something needed fixing, he did it himself or called someone immediately to come sort it out. In trying to put this trip together, we had a lot of challenges with other homes. But it was meant to be that we discover Higuera Ranch and we all agreed that we may have just found our permanent place that we come back to every year.

Enjoyed our family reunion

Higuera Ranch was a great place to stay. We had our annual family reunion there and everyone loved it. The house was well laid out, updated furniture, plenty of towels and kitchenware. Really nice to have everyone in one house. Gotta say that the best thing that was enjoyed by adults and children was the pool and spa, we were in there for hours. Having such a large party it was really nice not having to worry about being too loud since there weren't any neighbors close by. You can step out the door and hike along trails around the property, it's close to downtown (loved the Farmer's Market) and beaches. We also used the gym equipment in the fitness room. The key broke when we tried to open the fitness room and texted the owner and she was very quick to respond and open it for us. Definitely would go back again and recommend to others.
