We absolutely loved our stay in Haleiwa. Our host, Robert was wonderful and very accommodating. It was so pleasant to sit out, watch the surf, enjoy the sunsets and sun rises. We actually had a couple of sea turtles come up on shore. The accommodations were comfortable , clean with plenty of room. There were many fine restaurants in down town Haleiwa to choose from along with great places to explore. We highly recommend staying here.

Worth it

The sound of the ocean, beautiful views, watching a turtle make its way back into the water from the deserted beach in front of the rental, coffee on the deck, amenities, clean, very cool decor, great bathroom with roomy shower.... we loved it.

North Shore Experience

We wanted to get to know the Northshore and this was the best place for it. The unit is very spacious and everything you need is there. There are also beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, fins, snorkel, goggles... everything you need for perfect holidays. The whole property is very large and even though Neal and his family also live there, you don't get in each other's way. The location is perfect - you dan be in Haleiwa in just a few minutes, Foodland for shopping is also nearby. What we liked most was having breakfast and dinner on our terrace, watching the surfers, the sunset and having the beach right in front of the house. The only reason I am giving "only" 4 stars is, that the unit could use a refresh all around.

Beautiful Location, Wonderful Host

The property was wonderful and was steps away from the beach. The host was easy to get ahold of anytime and was always willing to answer questions. Everything was easy to operate. Property was located minutes away from downtown and was easy to find. We basically had the beach to ourselves. It’s a great location to see turtles swimming. The only downside is having to climb the stairs to get inside. The photos on the website don’t accurately depict how elevated the place is, I thought it would just be a few stairs based on the angle of things in the background but it is fully on the second story of a home. Something else to note, the bathroom windows did not have any shades or blinds so the house next door could potentially see in. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

We were here to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and it was the best! The beach was beautiful and private. The water was clear, And falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean is my favorite! The kitchen had what we needed, and I was comfortable hanging out on the furniture. Thanks Robert! We will be back!!! I miss it already!

Good location

This is a loft connected to the main house - Lots of noise from the children and their guests. The place needs some maintenance especially for the price. The bathroom could use some curtains. But The owner is very responsive, view is amazing, turtles are easy to find.

Heaven in Oahu

The pictures online actually doing capture the side and space it has. Complete satisfaction in our trip. Neal was available and responsive to all communication before and during our trip while not overcrowding us. It was like we had our own private beach with access in and out without any problems. Neal and his family are beautiful people living their life while allowing us to come and have a week off this dream life they have every day while not really even knowing they are there. It exceeded all of our expectations!!!!! The microwave was finicky and may need to be replaced, but otherwise 5 star getaway would recommend to anyone!!!!

Another perfect stay!

This was our second time staying here and it was just as fantastic as last time. The view alone is amazing, but add to that a quiet beach, comfortable and clean apartment, and an attentive host and you have 5 stars. We will be back again.

Wonderful North Shore Beach House

Wonderful location and accommodations that exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable home and you can’t get much closer to the beach. Very quiet (except the waves) and easy access to Haleiwa. Great vacation!

Haliewa Heaven

Beautiful property! Thank you Neal for sharing your lovely home! The accommodations were on point! We saw a whale on our first morning ( unusual for this late in season), turtles on the beach daily, rainbows over the house, and a stunning view! The house has everything you need, including access to a huge W/D in the garage. Neal is a great host, easy to communicate with, and also giving us space and privacy. The property is gated and feels very safe. We felt comfortable leaving our windows and doors open, but also had ability to lock up. A/C in bedroom cools entire apt. Lastly, the reality is even better than the pictures! Highly recommend.

North Shore Dream

It would be hard to give a review of this oceanfront house and Neil without being repeating other reviews. A few additional positives - the house is much bigger than the photos. The living room/dining area/ kitchen is very roomy as is the bathroom. Also, many beach houses smell musty or damp. This one doesn't. Very pleasant. And a final note, when we started our rental car for our trip to the airport to fly home we had a dead battery! Neil came to our rescue and we were on our way on about 10 minutes. A wonderful vacation on the North Shore.

Wonderful Christmas and New Year’s Visit!

Neal’s property is beautiful and well appointed. It had everything we needed to spend a quiet family Christmas with my son who stayed just for the weekend. Then my mom joined us for New Year’s. I no longer have a home in Hawaii to come back to since mom sold our house in Mililani. This place was the next best thing! Waaaay better than a hotel! Lovely location on the beach to watch the big wave surfers, snorkel (just a little), and we even spotted a turtle and a Hawaiian monk seal. Neal is super friendly and a good communicator. He even allowed me to pick a few Myers lemons from his garden tree (just like home). I definitely recommend this VRBO!

The pictures really do not do this place justice.

The home is absolutely amazing. The pictures are great but it’s breathtaking in person. We had an incredible time. The beach access is amazing, we spent so much time there it was challenging to leave and visit other beaches! I would go back in a heartbeat. I really hope it will not be a once in a lifetime experience.

Must stay

Our stay at this property was unbelievable. It is within steps of the beach with the most beautiful sunsets every single night. We loved the nearby beach town with plenty of shopping and great food. There are plenty of things to do or just lounge around and enjoy! We will definitely be back!

Didn’t want to leave.

We are both in her 70s and found the stairs to be a little challenging. But once you got to the top it made every step worthwhile. Haleiwa is the perfect location to get away from Honolulu and still be close enough to enjoy its attractions. Robert (Neil) was very accommodating we would return in a heartbeat.

The best place on the North Shore

Highly recommended. Views are amazing. Neal is great. Location is quiet but just a few minutes from Haleiwa and Waimea. Beach is beautiful and super quiet with lots of turtles.

Best time ever!!

Neal was a great host. His twins are great kids. Never heard them playing or running around. Never saw toys laying around. We were never bothered by anyone. We were able to enjoy the beach, the double decker gazebo, our own private deck with no one ever around. We would come back in a heart beat. Everything you need is available to use. If you don’t have it or can’t find it just call Neal. We never had to bother him as we were prepared for our trip after reading all the reviews. Most importantly read all the reviews so you know what to expect. You should expect a beautiful views, turtles, sounds of the ocean all day and night, and yes this host has a family and he is gracious enough to share his paradise with the rest of us. Expect your experience to maybe be different than the pictures only because the beach changes as the season changes. Maybe one time of the year it is all sand and then the ocean changes the beach and exposes rocks. So bring beach shoes and remember Mother Nature changes the beach not the host of the property! Neal thanks again for letting my husband and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here. Cheri and Gary
