Featuring lots of recent updates, Castle in the Sky is beautifully appointed and spacious (well over 5,000 square feet!). It sits right across from the access trail to Main Street (expert ski slope) in the exclusive Highline Community. The house has 8 huge bedrooms (with 4 suites) and a total of 8 bathrooms.

The home is perfect for entertaining with three fire places, a large kitchen, a game room with pool table and wet bar and four separate decks with a large hot tub.

The main level primary suite gives you a comfortable place to rest your head after a busy day at the lake, hiking, rafting, golfing or skiing. Upstairs, you will find three bedrooms including a second primary suite with a fireplace and another huge bedroom where the kids will love the duo bunk, queen, two twins and the twin trundle. Downstairs, you find three additional bedrooms including two additional suites and the game room where you can challenge one another to a game of pool or step out onto the deck to find the bubbling outdoor hot tub to soothe tired muscles after hitting the slopes or hiking state park trails.

Purchase your ski tickets ahead of time as this property is practically on the slopes and you can ski to your heart's content! In the warmer months you are within walking distance to the Adventure Sports Center International where you can go white water rafting or kayaking, or just take a walk or run around the course!

When you want to take a swim in an indoor pool or workout, Castle in the Sky has got you covered with a membership to the Community Aquatic & Recreation Complex. This is a great option for any cold or rainy days! The convenient location means the best of Deep Creek is just a few minutes away-restaurants, shops, marinas, golf courses, ropes course, mountain coaster, snow tubing, climbing walls, hiking trails, go-cart tracks, sandy beach at Deep Creek Lake State Park or Maryland's Tallest Waterfall at Swallow Falls State Park.

Highline is a private community with an 11:00 PM noise curfew and does not allow parking on the road. Please be respectful of the community.

*Parking is not permitted on the road. Violators are subject to being towed at their own expense. Additional parking is available at our office upon request. Please call 301-387-5999 to inquire about leaving cars in our parking lot.

Spacious house for Deep Creek weekend

We had a great long weekend with multiple families at Castle in the Sky. Check in was easy and the house looks exactly as it does in photos. We had a group of 15 and there was plenty of parking and space for everyone, including for meals. We noticed a small leak during our stay and the property manager got maintenance there quickly to resolve. The only thing Iā€™d note for future visitors is the house doesnā€™t have any cooking basics (no salt, pepper, oil, etc.) but nothing a trip to the grocery store canā€™t fix. Overall a great weekend!

Successful work retreat with co-workers

Seven of us stayed here in September. The house is on the mountain overlooking the lake. You can see the lake, but itā€™s off in the distance. The neighborhood is well kept. We saw lots of deer and even a few bears on our daily walks. It was just a short drive to the lake, although public access was limited. The house was big, very well done and perfect to host a group of our size.

Family party

Big family gathering - 20 of us met to celebrate my fatherā€™s 80th birthday. The house was big enough to hold us all, had a great kitchen and dining room space for a huge family meal, and had room for 3 generations to gather and break into smaller groups. We were only there for a short time in early fall so we were not able to take advantage of outdoor activities.

We had a large group of adults and kids stay here and the house was great space for all! Ā It was a quick drive to the boat rentals, ice cream, and grocery store.Ā Ā  I was disappointed on the cleanliness of the home.Ā  The floor and tables in the main area was sticky and dirty upon arrival.Ā  The bottom of our feet and our children's were black after walking barefoot.Ā  There was some trash and other items found under beds as well.Ā Ā

Overall it was a very nice stay. There was a lot of good information sent ahead of our stay regarding check in and check out procedures. Location was in a quiet community within a quick drive to several resaurants, groceries and Wisp. House had plenty of space for our large family gathering. Parking was limited to 6 vehicles but there was enough space for probably 8 so it didnt feel too tight.Communication once we got to the house was pretty sparse. The thermostat was locked when we arrived and the inside temp was at 61. There was no response to the messages I left on VRBO in 2 different places and I was able to get through to customer service the next day and they said they would have the maintenace team contact me but I never heard from them either. Fortunately the temperatures were very mild (early October) so it was manageable. House was fairly clean but could have used a deeper clean that I would expect for a house at this price point.

A perfect home for my 40th birthday

A perfect home for my 40th birthday. This was the perfect home for our needs. Everybody having king beds and their own separate bedrooms but a nice common area to hang out. The home was spacious and had everything we needed. There was a loose toilet on the top floor and a leaking bathroom sink in the basement. It didnā€™t stop us from having a good time but it should be noted. Our only complaint was, we couldnā€™t get the code to work when we got there! And after a long drive thatā€™s frustrating! There were also some dirty towels left from previous owners. However, the home met all of our needs and allowed go to make life long memories.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived at the house the house was clean. However we did have a lot of issues with the appliances throughout the house. We ended up with a toaster oven because the oven was broke, we ended up with a new grill because the original grill was broke. We had to deal with the rental company a lot throughout the stay and it was very inconvenient to constantly have the maintenance people at the property. No one ever came and checked/filled the hot tub while we were there.

Great for Groups!

We stayed here, three different families, and it was great! The perfect amount of space for everyone to feel comfortable and relax yet enough room that the crying toddlers didn't wake each other up! the adults also had a great time at night inside and out without waking up the kiddos! Lots to do, great time was had by all!

The bedrooms were spacious as well as the kitchen, basement and family room. An added touch was the proximity to skiing. We literally were able to ski to our driveway when taking breaks from the mountain. One minor issue was our oven needed tended to, however Taylor Made was right on it, and had it fixed within an hour of our call. We will definitely be back. Both the home and Taylor Made were fabulous.

Summer Vacation 2017

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I found that Taylor Made was excellent to deal with from the beginning. Our place was very welcoming and clean. It was well equipt with all the necessities. We had an issue with a propane leak in one of the fireplaces and the service people were there within ten minutes. Problem solved quickly. The spa had a leak and when we called the maintenance person was there within 5 minutes or less. He talked to my son and refilled and did all the appropriate chemical treatments. I would definitely deal with Taylor-Made again. We visited Black Bear Tavern, Swallow Falls, saw the beautiful sunflower farm and really enjoyed the Mountain Brewery.

A lovely spacious home!

We loved having the space to spread out - a little one slept int he basement at nap time and night time, and grownups could still chat upstairs. We loved walking around in the neighborhood and saw several deer and other critters. McHenry and Oakland offer lots to do! We had a pontoon boat ride on the lake, and went hiking in Deep Creek Lake State Park and in Swallow Falls State Park. Unfortunately there were a few problems. The people before us left many greasy dishes in the cabinets. We had trouble with the refrigerator, and it was checked out a couple of times by maintenance team. Many of the bathtubs drained very slowly during showers. The cooking rack on the gas grill was so rusty we couldn't use the grill.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house did not have the hot tub filled. We called the main number on the letterhead in black book and it rang busy constantly. I had to drive to main office and report this. Maintenance came and didn't fill it completely. The dryer kept stalling out and maint. had to be called in. Lastly, the WiFi was not working either. It is a beautiful house and we loved the kitchen and many gathering space. The maintenance/service issues we had were the disappointment here. Lastly, consider a recycling service in rental pkg. as we had to be out by 10AM and recycling center didn't open until noon.
