**DIRECT OCEANFRONT LIVING AT IT'S FINEST!** Townhome#185 is an amazing DIRECT oceanfront property at a amazing value. Enjoy the privacy of a townhome. Living area & Kitchen downstairs, bedrooms upstairs. Wifi, Beach gear available to you for your convenience!

The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is a gated community of condominiums and townhomes. There are three professional style tennis courts with night lighting; a tennis pro is on hand daily for lessons or game improvement coaching.

The large, newly remodeled swimming pool is ideal for ā€œlapsā€ and also for small children water activities. Swimming pool based exercise sessions are offered each morning. Showers and restrooms are conveniently located in the large pavilion near the swimming pool and tennis courts.

One of the most interesting features of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club are the numerous archeological sites. These preserved areas provide a glimpse of Hawaiian life years ago. Each site has a posted description of the activities that took place years and years ago.

The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has many gardens and walking trails. Flowers and tropical foliage are abundant. There are several outdoor barbecue areas for guests to use.

The Big Island is also known as the golf capital of Hawaii with 16 courses, 11 that are located in West Hawaii. There is a new driving range called the "Swing Zone" located near the Kailua Pier, for anyone who wants to brush up on a short stay.

Place was very nice and as advertised. There is NO a/c and it gets pretty hot inside. Amazing views. But half of the wall outlets did not work. Was quiet and clean. All and all it is a nice place if you can stand the heat. I personally wouldnā€™t stay there again because of the heat.

Amazing time!

The place was amazing! Loved that it was gated great swimming and tennis courts. Close to all shopping and beachā€™s plus not a far drive from airport. Easy way to save some money with the full kitchen well worth every penny.

Any time you had lights on in the evening because of the gaps in the window screens hundreds of knats flew into the condo. Several times they flew into my husband coffee and food . Very annoying . They would get all over the kitchen and bathroom counters . I would never stay in this condo again . This is my fault but I didnā€™t realize it didnā€™t have air conditioning. We found fans in the closets but I spent over an hour cleaning the the fans so they were usable and were not flinging dirt and grime around the rooms.

Great Location, enjoyed the ocean view, and sounds

We enjoyed being right on the water. This unit is slightly dated however and we found the furnishings to be a little crowded on the ground level. Kitchen was very basic, with some issues like dishwasher not anchored, and coffee grinder missing the top so it's unusable (in the land of Kona Coffee). The complex, pool and nearby beach/bay area are all very accessible by foot from this unit and all very nice.

We paid extra for the ocean front and had it removed for part of the stay. It was dark inside and very hot without the ocean breeze. Not enjoyable at all. We love the location and the place but this suite was a little run down compared to others and then the boarding up completely ruined it. I would recommend to friends but not that suite.

However this townhouse is built too close to the ocean. The ocean side of the bottom floor was boarded up on 3 separate occasions during our 2 week stay due to the ocean swell. The noise from the waves crashing on the rocks was also very loud making it difficult to sleep. Some water even trickled into the kitchen on our final day. If we were to experience calm seas during our stay the experience would have been quite different.This probably explains the mixed reviews.I would definitely stay in the resort again but chose to either save some money and stay in a garden townhouse or choose a condo as they are set further back from the ocean edge.

First off they don't tell you the rules until you book the WATER TOYS ALLOWED IN THE CONDO....we are divers and had we known that we would have found another place. It's Hawaii for goodness Air conditioning so it was hot hot hot!The place was dirty and the downstairs bathroom faucet was broken...None of the three TV's would turn on...I looked at one of the remotes and the batteries were corroded..We tried to contact the onsite manager several times but we never got a response.I will stay somewhere else next time.

I would not stay here again!

This was an incredibly rough summer at this rental. The location was gorgeous and the views lovely. But, it goes downhill from there. The unit simply feels dirty. The stove was not operational for over half our 2 month stay. The communication with the management team was horrendous. When locked out of the unit, they did not assist us for over 6 hours. I will say after several difficult conversations, the management team installed a new lock which worked well from that point forward. But then the smoke detector battery was low and was beeping ā€” they said they would fix it the following Monday (3 days later). We left before the Monday arrived, so I cannot say how that incident was handled. We rent properties all over the world, and this is the only time we have had such an experience with a management company. Itā€™s hard to say if the rental was the problem as the management made it impossible to know. Lastly, Iā€™ll add that this summer we rented 3 other units concurrently on the resort property with other managers and they were all amazing with no issues. The resort is amazing. This management company was a disaster.

Best Oceanfront Townhome

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family worked remotely for a week here 1st week of Dec. Wifi was strong and reliable. Unit was exactly as described and more. First, the location is one of the best in the complex. Front door is a few steps to the pool; on the other side are unobstructed oceanfront views. Other units have a low wall or garden in the back but this unit almost looks like it has an infinity edge towards the ocean (even though rocks were below the edge). Best feature is the patio deck framed by two palm trees with comfortable patio table and chairs to view daily gorgeous sunsets. 180 degree ocean views are enjoyed from living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bath. We liked the townhome configuration with no one above or below us and both bedrooms upstairs. Owners are generous in their supply of towels, sheets, extra pillows, beach umbrella/chairs, and snorkel gear. We appreciated thoughtful touches like high quality pots and pans, strong ice maker, soap dispensers, toiletries, and even darkening curtains to minimize afternoon heat load. Unit has no a/c but there were plenty of fans to cool down the condo. Condo was super clean. Pride of ownership is evident in the complex with well manicured grounds, beautiful tropical foliage throughout and plentiful holiday lights and decorations. The icing on the cake is Knutson & Associates. Iā€™ve worked with many property management companies and they are top notch. I echo all the praise in previous reviews for their superior customer service, attentiveness and great communication. From the start, their goal was to ensure I had the best experience. And I did. Mahalo for a most enjoyable and memorable stay. We were sad to leave but when I return, I will not hesitate to book with Knutson & Associates.

Very Very Tired Condo with a View

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 6th visit to Kona & 2nd to KKSR property because of location, layout, friendly guests, & amenities. This particular unit (185) has issues. The owners have seriously underinvested in this unit. Adjacent units are of a much higher caliber. Issues: 1. Linens were worn out ā€“ Sheets were pilled, had holes & no elastic in fitted sheet holding it on the bed. Bedspreads were dirty ā€“ possibly NEVER washed. 2. Kitchenware was substandard, cheap & worn out/neglected. Had to borrow basics from adjacent unit (can opener, etc.) 3. Basic stock supplies were too stingy ā€“ tp, paper towels, d/w soap, no kleenex. Could not run dishwasher 1/day. Cooking basics nonexistent. 4. Cheap, thin drapes block NO light from front or back of unit. 5. Unit was surface clean ONLY. Tub floor brown. Grime & dust everywhere. 6. Unit maintenance: Back door does not have working lock (umbrella stick in the track); Upstairs toilet ran constantly; Fan blades were delaminating/worn, dirty & unbalanced; Kitchen faucet incorrectly installed ā€“ did not pivot; W/D bi-fold doors got stuck & didnā€™t open/close correctly. 7. NOISE & WINDOWS: After hour pool noise from guests not following posted quiet rules. Louvre windows donā€™t close. Birds & surf are excessively loud. 8. Beach gear for guests was limited. Umbrellas broken, no cooler or boogie boards. Unit had only 2 beach chairs.

The unit was clean but needs some updating. The garbage disposal didnā€™t work at all and some of the bath towels had holes and discolorations in them. We know Kona can be unusually warm but even with all the windows and fans running it was still hot for sleeping. I would suggest that the management consider some AC especially for the bedrooms upstairs.

Great Condo

Comfortable, clean, relaxing. All we needed for cooking was on hand. Close to the food store and beach. Nice pool.

Great views and accommodating property managers!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. The views out the back door are amazing and the pool is literally steps from the home. The property managers were quick in their responses and very helpful when needed.
