There was mold in the coffee pot and filter. The bathroom or kitchen or anything had not been cleaned. The whole place had a musty, moldy smell. It is the cleanest place I have ever stayed in.

Great place to stay! Bring your mattress topper and sleep like a baby. It's like staying at your uncle's cabin. It's not fancy, but its cozy.

Perfect Location for either lake

Right in the middle of both lakes. The owner Rich was very nice and very hospitable.

U.P get away

My son and I had a great time on our trip and this was a perfect location to stay at to be able to get to all of the beautiful places we visited

Perfect base home

This trailer is a perfect base home for site seeing in the area. It is about one hour away from several upper peninsula activities. The town is quiet and appears safe.

Not bad for a place in the money. We have stayed in better and worse. We may be back next year. Wish the WiFi signal was better.

Gray vacation 2024

Great Location

Rich was very helpful with information about the local area. He was available when needed, and more than willing to help. His property is a nice, safe destination for your family.

Loved the quaint town and lovely scenery. Unfortunately the electricity went out so we couldn’t complete our stay. The owner was very upstanding and if he would have been in the area, I trust he would have gotten the electricity restored. Certainly can’t hold a power issue against him because things happen.

Good central location, toilet/bathroom were not cleaned. Strong sewage smell randomly throughout the stay. Power went out just to the house not the area and it took 10 hours before it was taken care of.

Disappointing

No blankets or towels. Bed had what appeared to have a urine stain. One bed not enough room for 4 to sleep. Love seat only other place to sit. We left a day early

I'm sorry to hear about your disapointing experience for sure!! I think this could have been a much more pleasant if you would have said something on one of the many occasions, we seen each other!! and if you would have read in the VRBO listing it does state bring your own towels and bedding, I don't know what else to say about that. The unit will sleep four just fine!! two in the bedroom on a full-size mattress and with the pull-out love seat, hid- a- bed with and its full-size mattress, also sleeps two!! that would make four!! and the urine stain!! I replaced the mattress cover but never could see that stain!! Tracey's-- not all there!! To bad!! so sad!!

I have purposefully held off on this review... Let me start with the owner/host is a nice person and attentive when we reached out to him. It is unfortunate he had to make a 5 hr trip to find a part to fix the tub spout that broke off in my 13 year old daughter's hand when she went to pull the divertor knob.The pictures must be several years old, but after looking at them once we got home to Texas with a magnifying glass some of the short-comings were visible. We had to clean from one end to the other when we arrived cobwebs, spiders, dead insects throughout. Found petrified refrigerator biscuits left in the oven. All hard surfaces in kitchen and bath a fine layer of dirt sometimes visible, sometimes not until you touched it. Dishes, pots, pans were all sticky, greasy or both. A majority of the screens are worn out with holes in them. Someone washed a dog in the bath tub and didn't clean it. No outside sitting area. Broken chairs, rotten picnic table. This doesn't include the almost daily loss of water, easily fixed but annoying. I am going to stop here because I am running out of characters. We told the host we felt we were owed a partial refund, he said he would look into it, never gotten it. We didn't expect 5*, my wife/I grew up in this area we wanted an UP North vacation. Clean, secure and functional is what we wanted. Don't get me started on the door-locks, btw; We suggested the host fix it up before renting anymore. We almost left the first day!

Not what we expected

Not well kept. Broken window, most of the window screens were torn. Dirty inside, we had to thoroughly clean when we arrived. No key, couldn't lock doors. Beds were very uncomfortable. Outside was messy and dirty. What bothered me the most is for the price, how poorly maintained the property is. Compared to other places we stay in the area that are 5 star resorts compared to this. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Yes tony it does have a crack in one of the window, there is a hole in three of the 21 screened windows!!!'''''''''' earlier renter miss placed the key, I replaced the lock by the end of the day on his first night!!..... The quality bed and box spring were new last year, I don't know what the weight rating was on them!!..... I also knew they didn't have much money and I gave them $100 off there rent and they stayed an extra day!!!!!! Thanks tony ( whiner)

A Darling Disaster

I chose this place thinking it would be a decent stay in between 2 lakes. The town of Curtis put us in the middle from other places we planned to go to. Upon booking, I reached out to the owner with a couple of questions & never heard back. Eventually, we got an email w/instructions on where to meet him & we decided to follow through with it. When we met Rich, he greeted us with a, "Well?" As if we were bothering his time. He walked us over to the place, quickly pointed out some things & took the leftover trash on his way out. We immediately noticed the smell of cigarettes & very dirty carpet. We tried to use the pull out couch for our 9-year-old daughter but it was filled with mouse droppings. The floors were so dirty, our socks were black within 1 day. On day 2, we broke down & started cleaning. We even had to scrub the toilet & shower. The mattress had stains & the carpet was very sticky in the bedroom. Massive spiders, the size of the palm of your hand were inside the home at night. The windows were caked with black mold & mildew. Even though we cleaned like crazy, it wasn't enough. We ended up staying in a hotel 2 out of the 6 days we rented this place. Not safe for pregnant women like myself. It was disgusting - not darling. As a professional in customer service, the stay was the most regrettable stay I've ever encountered and Rich was rude to say the least. Also, the wifi doesn't work as RV owners rented on the land & used it as well. We DO NOT recommend this place!

LOVED IT!!! Perfect for kids and dogs!!!!!

Absolutely WONDERFUL time! This is a small unit, but we had 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 large dogs in the unit and it was just fine. The enclosed front porch area was GREAT for extra space and storage. It was a great location and felt safe and cozy. Rich (owner) was readily available to answer any and all questions we had throughout the stay and even guided my husband to some good fishing spots! The kids had a great time. There was ample room for the dogs to be tied up outside and sniff around and do their "business" and the way the unit is set back from the road, they were not constantly barking at people walking by. The way the unit is situated up on a slight hill, above the main road, set back a bit from other houses, it felt like we had our own little hide out, even tho it is a super convenient location and there were numerous stores, ice cream shops and restaurants within walking distance. We would absolutely stay at this unit again and again! Sitting on the small porch outside sipping coffee and reading a book was great because a nice breeze comes up off the lake and it is so relaxing!! I think that ANYBODY looking for an affordable, pleasant, cozy, convenient, SAFE place to stay, that allows multiple large dogs (which lets be honest, that is hard to find!!!!)....THIS UNIT IS WONDERFUL!!!! It isn't a fancy-schmancy, high class, expensive, high-falooting VRBO. It is cozy, simple, family-oriented, comfortable basic unit that has everything you need and more than enough room to chill and relax with the family and dogs...... RENT THIS UNIT!!! It was perfect!!!! Thank you Rich (and his dog Buddy) for a great week!!!!

Week stay

Great little place for crashing while exploring the UP. It wasn’t a 5-star hotel. But we weren’t expecting that anyway. Great place for what it is. Easy drive to a lot of the large spots in the UP!

Worth every dollar spent.

Owner was very good at taking care of several issues that came up. He was prompt and knew how to fix issues. Place was perfect for my wife and I and central to the sites we wanted to see. Thanks Rich.

Just the right size

My son and I stayed here for a few days while we explored the UP. It was a nice location to be able to explore the beaches and local towns surrounding. We loved eating at Moofinfries and will definitely stay again🌻
