My family of 6 had the best time staying here. We did a few day trips around the UP and other days stayed and enjoyed the property. We fished, we swam, we kayaked, we had bonfires and made s'mores, we played pool, we got to see a momma and baby dear several times roaming around the house, and more. It was perfect! And the home owner was very considerate and helpful our entire visit! We loved it and were crushed when we had to leave!

Our stay was very comfortable and quite. The kitchen was well equipped and had awesome veiw of the lake. Would highly recommend for a relaxing fiahing or water get away.

Great Location

We had a great time staying here. Very good central location to explore the Upper Peninsula. Lake and cottage are fantastic. Host was extremely nice and helpful on what’s to offer in the area!

4.8/5 stars. I rate this cabin VERY highly. Amazing view: long, wide lawn sloping down to rock-lined shore, sandy shallows and dock, looking north across the main body of the lake. From deck, we watched a doe and fawn emerge from woods surrounding the property to graze on the lawn. Other times, we saw bald eagles, kingfishers, or ospreys, or heard a veery calling in the high canopy. Clean, comfortable, convenient to town, right on waterfront and only a short way from municipal boat launch. [Several places in town to rent watercraft for day or week, will launch and retrieve them for you.] Owner also left 2 kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard for our use. Good WIFI access. 3 bedrooms (3 queen beds) were great in our situation, but be forewarned if you need more than 3 sleeping spaces that there is no alternative to doubling up with someone (no suitable couch). No AC, not needed during our August stay - ceiling fans in every room; also a couple small oscillating tabletop fans provided but not used. Also, there is a pool table available downstairs to use. MINOR ISSUES: 1. Listing includes gas and charcoal grills, but no gas grill available (housekeeper advised needs to be replaced); we got charcoal and lighter fluid, and were fine. 2. Minor wear and tear: Doorwalls in LR and Master BR have vertical blind; several panels of each were missing (found later in a closet). 3. Small puddle on basement floor near H2O service; housekeeper aware, said being addressed.

We had a wonderful time

Our family went to stay in Curtis for a wedding. We didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy all the amenities of the cottage, but it was nice to have them for an option. The place was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Trish was easy to communicate with, and we would definitely stay here again.

Warm and inviting

Very cozy and inviting lake house. Had a wonderful stay. Felt very comfortable and relaxing, the scenery and the area was beautiful. Communication was perfect. Hope to stay again in the future.

It's nice tucked away and very quiet place to stay. Clean and newly redone it appears. Great for a peaceful getaway or kayaking and seeing local upper peninsula sites.

Are stay was really good. This is a great base location to check out the UP of Michigan. Had a great time and the house was nice. Only drawback was it was the hottest week of the year up there and the house doesn’t have AC. Most of the time it is not necessary in northern mi. Everything else was great.

Great stay, beautiful property, and fun lake!

We had a great relaxing stay here--the lake was beautiful, the dock was so nice. The kayaks were a huge hit (but bring life jackets!) and the house was perfect. My kids really loved the fireplace and the TV with streaming services too. Games on the table was a wonderful extra touch. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Home

We had a lovely stay on the lake. On the property we saw all kinds of wonderful wild life including hummingbirds, deer, and turkeys. The view of the lake is peaceful and the sunsets are very pretty. The night sky was gorgeous with a zillion stars. We spent a lot of time out and about but could have easily spent the whole week on the deck. One warning though the walk down to the water is very steep. It makes for a lovely view but is not fun to walk up or down for grandma.

Exceptional lake side home and hosts .

Our experience couldn't have been better. No hassle check in, beautiful clean home, super comfortable beds, modern appliances and a superb view of lake. Trees screening the borders of the property provide privacy, The wrap-around deck provide lots of room for lake watching and having an on site laundry is a great convenience. We did laundry while we played pool. The village of Curtis is picturesque and friendly,the locally owned stores provide most essentials and a Dollar General is a mile and a half away. It would be hard to find a better U.P. getaway or more accommodating hosts.

Comfy, Cozy and Welcoming

Let me just begin by saying the photos do not do this rental justice. It’s so much cuter in person and just perfect. Everything was clean. There is a relaxed/inviting feel to the decor that makes you feel at home once you enter. There were lots of little extras since the photos were taken that didn’t go unnoticed and were appreciated. The view of the lake is priceless. The owner and host were both very friendly, welcoming, easy to deal with and took time to respond to our questions about snowmobiling and ice fishing in the area. We hope to make this an annual weekend. Highly recommend renting (just not my weekend – LOL).

Great place to stay with kids that love being in the water. We spent the majority of our time either in the water or sitting on the lawn by the lake. Everything you need for a fun summer vacation is either on the property or just a couple minutes away. Defiantly will be trying to go back in the future.
