One of the most spectacular waterfalls of North Carolina ( Roaring Fork Falls ) is a short 1.5 mile walk or 3 minute drive from the house. It is a hidden gem. There is the beautiful South Toe River for fishing (be sure to get a license at the Mt. Mitchell Golf Club) or wading and of course, the Mt. Mitchell Golf Course is available for fabulous, shady vistas and excellent golf opportunities. The Golf course has an excellent restaurant, an extensive wine list and there are other local restaurants near the home, also. There is a sports bar in the restaurant for fun and social interaction.

The Penland art school, Burnsville and Spruce Pine are about a 30 minute drive from the home. Little Switzerland with restaurants and ice cream shoppe is about 20 minutes by car. Crabtree Falls and excellent hiking is between highway 80 and Little Switzerland. Asheville is approximately a one hour drive. The property is about one mile from the entrance to the Blue Ridge parkway and some of the most spectacular visuals in the Eastern United States.
