The Property:

The property features a relatively new construction with a contemporary design. The unit includes (i) a large living room with kitchen counter seating and requisite amenities (i.e, refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, stove, dishwasher), (ii) a master bedroom with a king bed and large closet, (iii) a second bedroom with a queen bed, large closet, and stunning ocean views overlooking the Catalina Island on a clear day, (iv) and a third bedroom with a queen bed and closet. Additional amenities include central heating and air conditioning, WiFi, washer/dryer, and a flat-screen TV. The property has a carport with space for one-car parking as well as a secured area for gear, bikes/surfboards, and an outdoor shower.


The Area:

Manhattan Beach is a locals' and tourists' paradise. The neighborhood is quiet, private, and favored by many across the South Bay. Downtown Manhattan Beach and the Pier are a ~15min walk and offer a variety of restaurants, boutiques, and tourist attractions. El Porto, the preferred local surf spot, is 5-10min walk and also features quaint cafes and surf shops along North Manhattan.

We (owners) live in front unit, and this is our pride and joy. This unit is separate and attached to the back part of our prime Manhattan Beach Strand location. Note: no smoking, loud gathering / parties, or pets.

Beautiful Apartment and Amazing Location!

We stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks and loved every second of it. The apartment is located towards the north of Manhattan Beach, steps to the beach and close to restaurants and bars. The apartment is modern and clean and equipped with new appliances. In particular, we were very fond of the water filtration system from the fridge. The water coming out of it tastes amazing without any traces of chlorine. (For us Germans a big deal :-)) Even though there was construction happening next door during the time of our stay, we were not in any way disturbed or bothered by it. Additionally, we enjoyed using the bicycles along the Strand. Ross, the owner was always available when we had any questions or concerns which also contributed to the fact that we will definitely stay at this location again in the near future.

Perfect relaxing beach trip

Ross and Launi are incredible and friendly hosts (and had awesome suggestions for things to do in the area). We were so happy to stay in their amazing and comfortable home, and would not have asked for anything different. The location is superb; on the strand and only a brisk walk down to the pier. Everything was spotless, and all the necessities were stocked. We definitely recommend staying here and will be back as soon as we can!

Very comfortable, luxury, on the beach!

My husband and I stayed in this modern, clean upscale apartment for a week while visiting family in the area and couldn't be more pleased. Everything we needed to enjoy a week on the beach was there. The bed is very comfortable which is extremely important to us. The kitchen is well equipped and it was nice to have the availability of a washer/dryer. It was very important to us to have a parking space & this property accommodates that nicely. A very quiet place on the beach. We hope to be back soon! Thank you Ross.

Wonderful rental property!

We loved everything about the Nathan's garage/studio apartment! The owners live in the front and were great to work with. Location was great, all the amenities you need in a stylish, modern, and clean space perfect for our family of 3. We will be booking for future visits!

Beautiful, Well Appointed With Every Amenity One Could Want

I travel quite a bit and this is hands down the best condo I've rented so far! Immaculate, convenient location to restaurants and shops, steps to the beach and the use of a carport, which is a plus in a town where trying to find a parking spot is virtually impossible. I would recommend Pancho's Restaurant and Sloopy's for great food. Pancho's has the best Margaritas I've ever had and a wide variety of choices on their menu. Sloopy's has a nice garden ambience and delicious freshly made salads and sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. 5 Star Plus. I didn't want to leave! A gem!

This property is beautiful, well appointed, beautiful a decorated and close to the water. The owner was out of town the weekend we visited but he made sure we had all we needed and someone was available for questions. Really a gem of a location and I hope to visit again soon!

Paradise Found

I just finished a month stay at this beautiful beach condo. Yes, it is steps from the beach, but the condo itself is so well appointed with all the creature comforts in a nice craft modern style. Do yourself a favor and book this place. Park your car and walk to the restaurants on Manhattan Beach Blvd. Location is very convenient for beach and Manhattan beach dining and shopping. Hosts were outstanding with all kinds of recommendations, helpful insider local info, etc. But, if you stay here, please keep it clean so I can enjoy this place again next summer!

Fantastic Place in Manhattan Beach!

We just spent a week here and I am reluctant to write the review because I don't want the whole world to know about this place. Fantastic location, really nice folks to rent from who met us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay, and promptly returned our security deposit. The apartment is beautiful, clean, with a comfortable bed, everything you need to cook, beach chairs and boogie boards to take to the beach. You hear the waves crashing on the beach from everywhere in the place. Our family will definitely stay here again, we have rented over 10 properties through the years through VRBO and this was a fave. Can't think of a better place to spend a week in Manhattan Beach! And as far as the location goes, Manhattan Beach is great, you are on the Strand and the beach is a 20 second walk from your door. Tons of great restaurants nearby. We had an amazing week!

Incredible, modern Strand apt

Ross was a great host. He reached out on two occasions to make sure we had directions, arrival plans, etc. All directions and where to park and how to get there were very clear and accurate, making check-in and check-out straightforward. He was responsive to a couple minor questions we had while staying there. His place is fantastic, very clean, modern, with all the amenities one could want. The bed was quite comfortable. Off-street parking is a great bonus given the density of the spot. The location is unparalleled, right at the beach, and a short bike ride to the pier. He supplied 2 beach chairs and towels for the beach. Everything was exactly as he advertised. The property next door is undergoing a demo and he was kind enough to let us know in advance so we wouldn't be surprised, which we very much appreciated (it wasn't a problem at all, they worked only during normal hours and not early in the morning). We will look to stay at his place again the next time we are in Manhattan Beach!

Perfect location, beautiful home

This home was such a wonderful place to stay. I came twice for a business trip and couldn't have chosen a better location or more beautiful home. It's the perfect size for one or two guests--cozy, clean, and completely comfortable. Ross was a fantastic host.

Could not ask for more!

This was our third visit to Manhattan Beach to visit our son and this rental is far superior to the others we have stayed in. The apartment is wonderful - quiet, comfortable, very updated, and clean. Ross and Launi could not be nicer or more accommodating and it is reassuring knowing they are there to take care of any problems (though we had none!). We could hear the ocean at night, walk to the front of the building and be right on the beach, and appreciated the great beach chairs! We only took our car out to leave MB because everything is so walkable from this location (restaurants, stores, the Pier, etc.). There was nothing we needed that was not provided in this apartment. There is no question where we will stay next time!

Amazing! On Strand! Perfect Location!

We had the best time here! It was super clean and new and had all the best amenities. We walked and biked the strand daily. We could walk to downtown Manhattan Beach with many shops and restaurants. We visited the pier, aquariums, farmers market. We also toured Southern California from Malibu to Big Bear ski resort. When we come back, we would definetly stay here. Ross and Lauri were so thoughtful and kind with our questions and requests. It was my husband and our three year old and the best trip- perfect spot to stay! - from South Carolina

Impressive property very close to the beach

This property is perfect for a couple who enjoys a well designed and appointed apartment. Clean, wide beach is just steps away. Property was clean and well maintained and within walking distance to many interesting restaurants of all types and prices. Owner was very helpful and we would definitely recommend a stay to our friends and relatives.

Clean, comfortable, and perfect location!

My girlfriend and I just stayed at this place last week. I live in Florida and travel to California every 3 - 6 weeks, and I must say that this place is a hidden gem! Everything is new, clean and well kept. It was also very comfortable to relax and kick back. We were within walking distance of everything Manhattan Beach has to offer, right in between North Manhattan beach resturants to Manhattan Beach Blvd. I also met the owner, Ross. He is very nice and accommodating. Overall, great place!

Living and working on The Strand, MB

The overall experience during our week stay in this Manhattan Beach apartment was tremendous! The listing and photos of this place are spot on showcasing the high end design of the kitchen and bathroom as well as the furniture. The closet space in the bedroom was large and the California King bed was a luxury. The apartment was well maintained and very clean for our arrival. Since we were working remotely, the layout of the kitchen island and living room allowed both of us to work on our laptops. The WIFI connection was extremely fast which supported virtual business meetings. The owners engaged us multiple times while planning our trip with comprehensive information for the area. They sent a document listing their recommendations for a variety of amazing restaurants that cover every meal. During our stay, they personally greeted us and were quick to answer any questions by text or in person about our unit or Manhattan Beach. The kitchen is fantastic for cooking as we had several meals at home after spending time walking The Strand during late afternoon sunsets. We recommend this apartment because it is walking distance to cool north end shops as well as the vibrant MB Pier downtown location. We visited the North End Caffe, Strand House, MB Post, Darren's and Little Sister for exceptional meals or drinks/appetizers. Thank you, Ross and Launi, for your hospitality and personal touches to make our stay in Manhattan Beach such a 5 star memorable one!!

Location and style!

We were honored to be the first guests in this beautiful beach spot. It's brand new and beautifully appointed. Comfy bed, comfy couch and fully equipped kitchen made for an easy vacation right on the beach. We are active and wanted to play volleyball and be in the ocean as much as possible. The easy access to the strand and covered parking made it perfect. Owners were extremely easy to work with and helpful, but also allowed plenty of privacy. Bring or rent bikes so you can take full advantage of the Manhattan Beach scene. It was so nice to have the beach equipment and outdoor shower so we could really relax. Parking is tight in Manhattan Beach so having parking is really important there.

Great Stay

We arrived on Wednesday evening for our 4 day stay. Luckily the owner was just driving up when we arrived. So nice and hospitable! The owner warmly welcomed us and then proceeded to give us valuable information about the rental and the local area. He even drove us to our dinner restaurant. Talk about service! The apartment was adorable. It was decorated lovely and everything was in perfect working order. The location is a few steps off the beach and about a 20 minute walk to the center of Manhattan beach (center of the town). We had no problems getting a taxi or uber when we needed them. They came within a matter of several minutes. We look forward to visiting again.

Perfect Getaway

This was a wonderful vacation rental for a couple. The house was perfect in every way, including the decor, how spotlessly clean it was, the location behind the main house, the amenities (fresh linens, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.) and the location on the strand. I hesitate to tell how great it was because I want it for all of our future trips down to Manhattan Beach. The owners were extremely nice and made it clear to us to let them know if we needed anything at all. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I, who live in the front part of our strand home, came here over 30 years ago. Our kids have recently finished school and moved away, so we have fixed up the back part of our home to share with others. We take great pride in our home and look to share this beautiful space with others.

Our property is steps away from the beachfront, in a lovely community which is secure and safe but still quite social. We and many others would agree that this area is perhaps one of the most pristine and beautiful and enjoyable beachfronts in, Southern California.

Our rental property comprises the back unit of our beachfront home (The Strand). It is easily accessible from Los Angeles International Airport (about 12 to 15 minutes sans traffic). It is about a 15-minute walk to the vibrant downtown Manhattan Beach, where one can enjoy many of the vibrant and exquisite restaurants, bars, and shops.

Those staying can also enjoy the beachfront and ocean, which is steps and minutes away.
