Great place to relax and explore the area

Very relaxing and private. Place is well equipped with everything you need and is beautiful. Would highly recommend. Close enough and easy drive to everything if you want to explore Acadia, Bar Harbor, Winter Harbor, etc.

Amazing views, beautiful cottage and meticulous landscaped property

For first time visitors to Maine, this house is a can't miss. For about a 45 minute or less drive, point in any direction and you will see breathtaking scenery. If you want to stay at the house, enjoy the beautiful water views from the deck, from a fire pit or at the waterline.

A Rainy Interlude

A beautiful house in a beautiful setting with all of the comforts of home. One suggestion: a new mattress in the upstairs bedroom with the fireplace.

Sorrento, ME charmer

Well appointed three bedroom house with a fabulous coast view was the perfect vacation spot for our family. The property is lovely with flowering plantings. We were relaxed from the moment we arrived, enjoying games, soaking up the scenery, and taking in peace and quiet time the location allowed. We had easy and clear communication with the owner for arrival and check out. Check out Scholl Cottage. Youā€™ll love it!

First trip to Maine

The house was very well stocked & the furnishings were comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need to cook, including spices, although we ate most of our lunch & dinners out. Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound (on the way in to Bar Harbor) has tbe best lobsters. They are steamed in sea water. The view at the house is spectacular & it's a great location. We love exploring so it was easy to get to Acadia Nat'l Park,(a must see) (we had to go to Jordan Pond for their famous popovers). Bar Harbor, Moosehead Lake. Tidal Falls is nearby the house & worth going where we saw seals. Camden is a beautiful coastal town to visit, as well. Our first trip to Maine & we are already planning another!

Awesome Place

Beautiful house that was very well kept and stocked unlike many other vacation rentals that throw all of the spices and cupboard goods out after each guest. Host was responsive and made sure our checkin went smooth. The only thing we didnā€™t like was the ring doorbell camera that was inside the property (basement) overlooking the ping pong table. Would suggest that be removed. We put tape over it when we realized. Everything else was great and a solid 5-star house and host.

Solitude on the Sea

The property and home are absolutely lovely and extremely well maintained. The view is stunning! The beds are comfortable and the 3 bathrooms were a bonus for 2 adults & 3 teenagers. The kitchen and bathrooms were extremely well stocked. The owners are responsive, extremely kind, and have clearly put a lot of thought into the property & house. The listing mentions AC but it is only on the 1st floor. The 2 bdrs upstairs have fans and plenty of windows, so we were comfortable at night. The house was the perfect launching point for all our adventures into Mt Desert Island and the Schoodic penisula. We did have 1 rainy day and the house was a great refuge for a movie, ping pong, and family time. Weā€™d 100% stay again!

Relaxing stay

Very spacious well stocked house. Clean throughout, awesome deck, and fast internet. Lots of activities including table tennis, darts, fire pit and beautiful views. About 40ish minutes to Acadia/ Bar harbor and about 30 or so minutes to Schoodic which is fantastic. The drive to Acadia or Bar harbor is actually very scenic and there is a smaller grocery store right on the way. Three kids between 10-12 and whole family had a very nice relaxing one week vacation. We have stayed in many rental properties in the past so the only minor suggestion would be to add a hot tub to the place and make it even better...but it is Maine so don't know how practical that would be. Other than that if you are looking for Acadia/Bar Harbor vacation, this is an excellent option.

Great, quiet waterfront home

We recently complete a stay and enjoyed the property very much. There was plenty of space for the four guests in our party, and having the two bedrooms upstairs was nice to let the kids have some privacy. (though the upstairs bedrooms we found to be a bit warm compared to downstairs, probably no problem at all during the winter) We played games in the yard and ping pong downstairs, enjoyed plenty of peaceful time sitting on the deck overlooking the water. The kids enjoyed exploring the shore when the tide was out, but it was pretty muddy in places. Be prepared to drive a bit to get food, but it worked okay for us as we stopped for groceries on the way in. We made some dinners there, but we took advantage of being a close enough drive (50 min) to Acadia to really enjoy the park. Often eating an early dinner before heading back to the house for the evening.

Peaceful Home on the Water in Maine

This is a lovely home - well cared for with all the amenities you need for a wonderful stay. Ping pong and darts downstairs for rainy days and lots to do in the area situated between Acadia and Schooner National Parks. The house itself sits on a little cove that is picturesque and calming. Sorrento is a cute little summer community.

The perfect week at the perfect location

Our family and a friend fully enjoyed a spectacular house at a amazing location on the Maine shore for a week. Just steps from a private shoreline in an extremely quiet area in Sorrento. Every amenity that we would need was made available to us. Clean, cute, and so well cared for! We traveled into Acadia National Park nearly everyday. We liked that the house was not in the busy area of Bar Harbor. Nights were filled with homemade dinners, ping pong, our favorite TV shows and a fire by the bay. Come and stay. You canā€™t go wrong!

Perfect Maine Getaway

This lovely home in Sorrento was everything that was promised and more. Positioned on the waterfront, the property featured a beautifully landscaped perennial garden with firepit, gazebo and a cozy dock for gazing out on the bay. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for our group of adult siblings and spouses. Comfy beds, charming linens, and all rooms were equipped with fans -- which came in handy during the unseasonably warm weather we experienced. The kitchen was very well-equipped -- we did a lot of cooking and every tool I looked for was available. Full matching sets of charming dishware and glassware (surprisingly unusual in some rentals) made our meals that much more festive. The host was readily available -- immediately answering inquiries about how certain things worked or where to find something on the property. She even sent a beautiful bouquet of roses in honor of an anniversary that we being celebrated. Now that's class! All in all, a top-flight experience.

Great view and quiet

Easy, great communication with manager-she had a 3 ring binder with pamphlets to restaurants, golf courses and attractions in the area. Perfect place to turn off the cell phone and relax!!!!!!!

Great house for group of adults

A group of 6 adults (3 couples) rented this property for a week. The property is great - amazing views of the water, fire pit, plenty of backyard space for games, grill, patio, open living/kitchen area to spread out and 3 well sized bedrooms. Our primary reason for staying in Sorrento was to visit Acadia (40-50 min drive away) and explore Bar Harbor (similar drive). If you donā€™t mind being a bit further away (or are looking for a more remote place to stay), highly recommend. Host was very responsive and check in was easy. Would stay again!

Beautiful view ,property layout super!

This is a very beautiful property. The view is fantastic. Everything you need is there for you . Firewood is also provided for you fire ring families like ours. We kayaked right from back of property. Access to launch a little challenging but not horrible. Love this place!

Beautiful fall family getaway to Maine

We were so pleasantly surprised. The on-line description was acccurate to say the least. Really enjoyed waking up to watch the sun rise directly over the water from the living room. Everything was well cared for. Grill outside was a big plus. Well maintained grounds. Right on the water. Saw some otters, could see and hear some whales (porpoises) just off the property. Near Acadia National park and all the stores you need in Ellsworth. We will return.

Wonderful view

We had 5 adults staying while we toured the area. It is a little out of the way but well worth the extra driving. The house was great and the views are amazing. We spent the evening sitting around a fire in the fire pit. The kitchen is well equipped. We would definitely stay there again
