Coastal Breeze - newly renovated - steps to beach

Note: Property next door is being rebuilt - you may incur some construction noise - because of this we have discounted the rates until the construction is completed or taken inside as to not experience excessive noise.

This lovely Newly Renovated 3 bedroom stand alone home is just minutes walk from the steps to Windansea Beach.

There are 3 bedrooms - all are situated upstairs. The master has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. The first guest bedroom has a queen bed with a small patio and the second guest bedroom has 2 twin beds. The 2 guest bedrooms share a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Enjoy the rooftop deck for some views of the ocean and cool summer breezes. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is an informal dining area attached. The living room is spacious with a cozy fireplace, flat screen TV, Wifi and bar area.

Coastal Breeze is fully fenced in and the back courtyard has outside dining with a propane grill. Attached to the courtyard is the 2 car garage.

The location is great you can walk to the beach, the shops and all the fabulous restaurants at Windansea Beach.

Walk another 10 minutes and you will find yourself in downtown La Jolla where you can shop till you drop, eat at many world class restaurants or browse the art galleries and other unique stores.

La Jolla has the Atheneum for many art events, The Comedy Store on Pearl, The La Jolla Recreation Center with basket ball courts and extensive playgrounds plus The Museum of Modern Art are all within walking distance.

If you decide to adventure outside of La Jolla there is the downtown Gaslamp District, Seaworld, The San Diego Zoo and Wild life Park, Legoland, Balboa Park and lots of live theatre.

No Smoking is allowed at any of our properties. This will include outside areas as well.
This home is equipped with A/C split units in each room.

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced.
Please be mindful of our neighbors during your stay. The property's quiet hours are in place to ensure that you and our whole community can enjoy a restful night's sleep. We are dedicated to protecting our guests and neighbors from bothersome levels of noise. In an effort to do so, this property is equipped with NoiseAware technology. NoiseAware is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property.

We had a great stay at this place which was spotlesss and seemed brand new inside with really high quality finishes. It was less than a block to the beach, great for strolling and watching the surfers. The construction next door was disclosed beforehand and was not too disruptive. We really enjoyed our stay.

I truly don't think that the photos do this house justice. It's more updated and beautiful than we were expecting. Brand new kitchen, lovely decor, and 2.5 bathrooms which was perfect for our family of four. Pros: super clean, very responsive hosts, balcony on the roof!, truly steps from the beach, quiet neighborhood, parking, the master shower/closet (whoa), so many thoughtful touches (towels, pillows, blankets)Cons: If you are expecting a sunbathing beach - this isn't it. My family and I didn't mind at all, as the beach wasn't our main draw to San Diego and the weather never gets that hot. I walked to the beach every morning with my husband while the teens slept in. It was wonderful - not much of a con, just something to keep in mind. We were sad to leave. It was wonderful. I would go back in a heartbeat.

loved the property. however, a few things could be updated. the dishwasher is old, loud, missing prongs in the top drawer and doesn't clean well. The roof top is a great place but need outdoor furniture and maybe party lights. I was very confused about check-in as I go an email from outside VRBO that said i would meet w/ a rep from the rental company to check-in. our plane was over 2 hours late landing and i was worried about getting into the condo. however, i just used the code and no issues. however, over all very lovely place

Walking distance to La Jolla Beach

House was clean and is about a five-minute walk to La Jolla beach. Everything in the house is old but functional. If they spent a little money to update the house, furniture, kitchen utensils, etc. it would be a five-star property.

Convenient and spacious

This house is an easy walk to the beach and a longer but very fun walk into La Jolla’s main shopping and restaurant district. The bedrooms and bathrooms were generously-sized and having a two-car garage a REAL plus. Since our visit was in December, we enjoyed the gas fireplace, but there’s plenty of outside brick patio area and even a roof-top deck for a family BBQ in the summer. On a personal note, I’m always interested in seeing what books are on the shelves, and this house had great ones!

girls retreat

Beautiful property, well kept, and decorated nicely, very nice library, the decor was very nice and updated. The only problem we had was getting the burners on the stove to light. Really enjoyed our stay, unfortunately we had to leave a day early, but we plan on a return trip soon. Great location, and the girls just loved it.

Old, tired, house that needs a lot of work in great location

On a positive note: It is a great location in beautiful La Jolla. Loved walking down the block to the beach to enjoy the surf, the sunsets, and the beautiful sea breezes. But the house.....jeez....where to start.....It's an old house that needs a lot of work. The carpets are old and tired and dirty. Many of the windows are rusty and don't work. No A/C (as advertised), so its crucial to open the windows but many screens are just falling off. Entire boards on the roof deck are rotted out. Old kitchen, furniture, and bedding. But, it is a quiet neighborhood. And the surrounding people and vibes are all good. Very walkable location. Gets busy (and a little crazy) on weekends with locals driving by blasting music (but just during the afternoons). So, if you know what you are getting into go for it. We had to leave a day early because of the dust.

Weekend wedding in La Jolla

Coastal Breeze was perfectly roomie for 6 adults. It has great access to the beach and could even walk, scooter or bike around town. The kitchen has everything you need to cook dinner and have toast, coffee and tea for breakfast. Street parking is limited but there is a 2 car garage that will fit a low profile car, no mini van, SUV or pick-up would fit but my CRV just did. We loved the roof-top space, would be nice if there was an umbrella at times but we hung out, ate and kids studied up there. There is even a washer and dryer in the garage which came in handy. One disappointment is that the windows don't open to bring the amazing weather inside and there was dried blood on our sheets. I think someone scratched themselves as they were making the bed, so I don't think it was intentional. We were in town for a family friend's long awaited COVID wedding and it was great!! Our family would recommend this place and if we are in La Jolla again we would try to stay here.

Review of Coastal Breeze

The house was very clean and in a good location with a short walk to the beach. The parking was excellent with a two car garage and the neighborhood was very quiet. It was adequately equipped but the kitchen and bathrooms were dated. Given the price we paid it was good value and the management company was very efficient. We had a great stay.

Relaxing family weekend

Amazing Weekend

Coffee on the roof in the morning, well stocked kitchen and a short walk to one of the nicest beaches we've been to. La Jolla is gorgeous and this is a perfect location to enjoy it.

Nice Beach House

Overall, we had a nice stay at this beach house. It was clean and comfortable. It was well stocked with linens and the beds were comfortable. The location is great and is 1.5 blocks from the beach. The neighborhood was also nice and we had no problems with noise at night. My elderly mother did have issues with the bath upstairs (not the master) and the shower and tub need updating and don't open the medicine cabinet... it was disgusting. We did not cook in the kitchen which was good since there were 2 nights when we found cockroaches in the kitchen at night. The only other things that could be done to make this property more ideal would be to fix some of the really old windows since opening and closing them was difficult and we were afraid they might break doing so. We loved having the windows open in the day for the ocean air. Also, the street parking is limited so if you do park in the garage there is no way to get in the house since you enter via the front door keypad. You can't get to the front of the house from the garage at all so you either have to walk all the way around or leave one of your party off at the front to enter and let you in the back door. The only way in the back door is with a key which we were not provided . Apart from getting an exterminator to deal with the roaches, the place was very nice and the negatives were not too big. Would consider renting this place again if these items were fixed including upstairs shower.

We had a wonderful time here

We were a family of six: two grandparents, two parents and two children. Having three bedrooms upstairs was perfect. The adults could be downstairs after the kids went to sleep. We enjoyed walking the two blocks to Windnsea to enjoy the beach and watch the surfers. We spent one day at the wonderful San Diego zoo. Such a fantastic place. If you need to take a bus, # 30 goes along La Jolla Blvd just a block up the street. All in all, we enjoyed our 5 day stay here very much.

Steps from the beach, beautiful property

We stayed here with my two kids (5 and 9) and mother-in-law, and the space was great. It is well maintained and everything was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast in the mornings and cook dinner in when we wanted. The real treat is the proximity to the beach, where we took an evening stroll every night after dinner. We also enjoyed the garage for off-street parking, and we took advantage of borrowing beach toys, chairs, cooler, and an umbrella that were stocked when we visited La Jolla Shores. The rooftop is also lovely, with a nice view. A short drive to many restaurants and coffee shops. No air conditioning, but after we opened the house up upon first arriving, it was fine. There are fans in every room and the air cools down considerably in the evenings. I'd definitely stay here again!

R and R in La Jolla

Information from home away accurately described and depicted the coastal breeze house. However, my group did not feel that they emphasize enough the major benefits of this property. The house is literally one and a half blocks from the beach and the ocean. You can see the ocean from the rooftop patio which is lovely. Everything about the house is cozy and comfortable down to the smallest details. Although there is no air conditioner, none is needed as the multiple windows and doors provide perfect cross ventilation. Parking is never a problem because of the two car garage provided. Parking generally in this area is a premium. Michael from La Jolla vacations is both courteous and responsive to all questions and needs. Our group of five women in our 60s could not have been more pleased. It would also be perfect for families and any age group that is still able to climb stairs. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay. So close to the beach!

The property was roomy and clean. It was a bit musty, but leaving windows cracked helped rectify that. The locks on the doors were tricky and difficult to maneuver, but they did lock. We noticed water coming from under the dishwasher, and it was taken care of immediately. Checkout was a breeze! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house! Would rent it another time for sure.

Perfect location, comfortable, well equipped property

Very enjoyable stay, house had airy, homely atmosphere and was well equipped. Location 3mins walk from beautiful Windansea Beach and easy walk or drive into La Jolla village with it’s selection of restaurants and shops. Great to have double off street parking. Outside space a bit stark, could be made a little more attractive with softer landscaping.

Incredible home with impeccable service!

This home was so wonderful - parking was everywhere on gravilla - michael from la jolla rentals was like a dream customer service guru as he was able to make changes such as checking in an hour early and printing our boarding passes for our departure/going back home. To say that we loved it is an extreme understatement. This far exceeded our expectations because the home was also spacious, quiet, safe and a very short drive to Vons, Girard area (Girard Gourmet is a real hidden gem) and many other local places. We very much hope to be able to stay there soon - we kindly ask that you all consider future discounts based on the fact that we have stayed with you previously. The photos really do capture how much our family loved every minute of our time. It really is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity - something that we never thought we would be able to do.

We opened the front door.. the house smelled so musty.. however after opening the windows that we could and some of the doors.. the musty smell disappeared. The house is very good if you have toddlers.. the back patio is enclosed and they can enjoy playing with minimal supervision.. the house is clean the kitchen has more than ample utensils, cooking/baking pans even three sets of plates .. cups and wine glasses.. beautiful wine glasses !
