Charming 1923 beach cottage in a quiet and private court side setting in the heart of Mission Beach. This bit of paradise has been updated and newly furnished in a modern beach cottage decor. Only steps from Mission Bay, 500 yards to the Ocean, and a short walk to restaurants, shops, and Catamaran Spa, this cottage is the best of both worlds - easy access to the excitement and energy of the beach, yet near the bay for a calm respite to refresh the soul. This original beach house is nestled among others, still in use by full-time residents. As a result this property is best suited for a those seeking a quiet interlude within an active Mission Beach area.

Inviting and comfortable living room features a gas fireplace and large-screen TV. Well-equipped eat-in kitchen provides informal seating. Gate-leg table allows more formal dining when expanded in living room. The master bedroom has a queen bed, flat-screen TV, desk, and private bathroom with shower. A second bedroom also includes a queen bed. The third bedroom includes a twin bunk bed with a pull out twin trundle.

The cottage is perfect for a beach vacation, but if you need to bring that laptop, it is also a great place for getting some work done. A desk and computer chair are available in the master bedroom; a portable laptop table allows for computer use throughout the house. Cottage comes complete with wireless internet, dishwasher, full-sized washer/dryer, bathtub/shower, gas fireplace, and gas BBQ. Very close to Santa Clara Recreation Center/Mission Bay Aquatic Center which offers classes and water sport rentals, from jet skis, wake boards, water skis, sailboats, paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, pontoon boats, and even jetpackexperiences. They also offer tennis court and racquet rentals, basketball courts, softball fields, and fishing off of their docks.

Beach bungalow

Nice little beach bungalow. Everything we needed. Short (very short) walk down to the beach. Close to all the bars and restaurants. I would stay here again.

Fisrt time not staying in a hotel

It was nice quite spacious more then enough room lots of hot water so everyone could shower. Cute clean close to everything we wanted. Best first experience ever. We definitely recommend as well as will stay again.

Great spot

This is a nice beach cottage that was perfect for a family getaway. It's a short walk to the beach and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The onlydeductioni wouldgivewould be for parking. This unitdoesn'thave parkingspot and the parkingnearby can be limitedespeciallyon weekends. .

Thé beach and Sand Diego at your feet.

We needed a nice get away that was in the middle between La Jolla and San Diego. This property fit that bill perfectly. Once we arrived we were pleased to find the quaintness of the posting to be accurate. We also soon realized that not only is the cottage in the middle between those two cities but the path between is simple and easy. Great spot and we will certainly be back with friends.

Two Week Stay

We had such a nice time at this house and in the area. I was with my adult daughter, who was recovering from minor surgery. We could walk everywhere and the home had everything we needed. My two other adult children showed up for two nights and the accommodations were perfect! We would all stay here again. My only (only) feedback is that the kitchen sink needs to be DEEP cleaned (like down in the disposal area,) because the smell was strong and not great. The management company was stellar and easy to get in touch with. Great little place!

No big kids on the top bunk bed!

I arranged a visit with my 3 adult daughters and two friends. First the parking is only for a VERY small car and street parking is impossible to find on weekends. Second, there is a little sign on the headboard inside of the top bunk stating no one over 100lbs can sleep on that bunk. thebunk.

Property is in a great location. Lots of nice amenities. Home would benefit from more extensive cleaning. A lot of dust on windows/blinds and evidence of mold in bathroom

We arrived at the unit, and it had not been cleaned.

We arrived around 6pm after a long day of traveling to find the unit had not been cleaned. Our options were to wait for the cleaning service to come and clean or find another place to stay. We opted for a hotel. Finding one with vacancy was difficult as it was spring break. The management team was less than apologetic and did nothing to help us find other accommodations.

Great time

This was a great location and property. Easy to get to both the bay and the ocean. Just note the very small parking spot. We came in an SUV and had to park elsewhere. Loved the bunk bed for the kids, as did they.

Fantastic!

This was probably our best experience in an airbnb we've ever had. The cottage literally has everything you could want: sand shovels, boogie boards, beach cruisers, a pack and play on site, I could go on. The parking space really is teeny tiny though, so once we finished parking our minivan each day my hubby didn't want to leave because he didn't want to have to park again haha. But that was ok because it was literally beach adjacent! Beds were comfortable, ceiling fans were quiet, decor on point... We would stay here again!

Great place, but the location was very different than the place was listed. Listed as close to pacific beach, ended up being south of that on Glorietta Bay. Ended up being far from friends we were staying with.

Stayed here with a small group of girlfriends for a celebration and it was the cutest little cottage! Convenient location and easy check-in/out process. Would recommend to anyone that wants that beachy feel.

Great Beach Spot!

We had a great time at the Rockaway house! The location was ideal…especially if you have kids bc it’s feet away from the bay. The house was stocked amazing well with everything you could possibly need for your stay and the space incredibly clean. The parking spot is insanely small but they give you plenty of warning about that so it wasn’t a surprise and we found parking just down the road. We are definitely keeping this on our list of options for future stays.

Great Stay

The property was very clean and stocked up with everything you would ever need for your stay. The location is a 2 minute walk from the beach and there are so many places to eat/shop in the area. I will say that the property next door is currently being renovated and there was construction from approx 6/7AM - 5/6PM everyday except Sunday (even Saturday). That was a little annoying in the mornings but we headed out for activities by 10AM-11AM each day so it wasn't that big of a deal for us. We weren't upset about it, but I wanted to mention it for possible renters in the near future to be aware of. Overall great stay and location!
