There were definitely some wonderful things about this rental. The proximity to both the beach and Casino Ballroom was fantastic, and the wellness extras—Biomats, massagers, and other thoughtful touches—were a nice idea. In fact, there were so many massagers they almost took up too much space.Unfortunately, those extras felt like polishing a turd when basic expectations weren’t being met. Cleanliness was inconsistent: the shower needed a thorough scrubbing, surfaces needed proper wiping, and some dishes were dirty. The property itself is very worn, with broken or damaged items and things that don’t function properly. The upstairs railing is particularly concerning, and there are obvious maintenance needs, including a damaged door. I would much rather see money spent on deep cleaning, repairs, and maintenance than additional gadgets.Communication was also frustrating. We apparently weren’t receiving messages the owner/VRBO believed had been sent, so we arrived without clear instructions about our unit or parking. When I called for help, the response felt unnecessarily rude and condescending, with repeated insistence that I refer to instructions I had explained I never received. Checkout instructions also never reached us.The location is excellent, and there is real potential here. But the basics need to come first: cleanliness, safe and functional fixtures, necessary repairs, and reliable communication. Address those fundamentals, and this could be a great rental.
