Pros: 1. Roughly midpoint between two destinations, Hilo and Volcano; 2. Private home; 3. Aspects of home have been updated (though not all); overall, fairly tidy space & professionally cleaned; 4. Comfortable living room & dining for a family of five to six people; 5. The carport kept our vehicle cool on sunny days.Cons: 1. On a main road, so the vehicle traffic noise is constant, even through the night, 2. The blinds need updating -- they don't block light/heat nor provide privacy (did I mention this home is on a main road?), 3. We found the master bed to be rather uncomfortable; one more night and I would've slept on the couchThe traffic didn't keep us up at night, so it's just a matter of whether future guests have the tolerance for traffic noise on their vacation. The blinds and bed are resolvable, so look for those updates in case you're considering staying here in the future. Although location was listed as a plus, we ultimately would've preferred being in Hilo over being halfway between the two locations we were visiting. Hilo would give better access to restaurants, cafes, and beaches.
