ALOHA AND WELCOME TO HALE KAI # 101





Beautiful oceanfront two bedroom condo with king bed, two twin beds and sleeper sofa that can accommodate up to six people. The condo was fully remodeled and refurnished in 2014. The condo is located literally on the beach and adjacent to a park. Unit #101 is located on the ground floor and enjoys direct ocean views. The complex features a pool, laundry facilities, parking and barbecues. The complex is across the street from a farmer’s market and several small restaurants.


We invite you to view the reef fish at low tide in the early morning…play in the ocean, snorkel or swim with the sea turtles. The inviting beach just outside our condo is perfect for building sand castles, relaxing with a favorite book or enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of “Old Hawaii”.


We are located in the small community of Honokowai in West Maui and are just minutes from the world-famous Kaanapali Beach, Kapalua and Napili Bay as well as the historic town of Lahaina. Honokowai has some of the best weather in Maui. World-class golf courses are located nearby.

RATES:

Rates for this unit are based on four occupants, (additional $10/night/person), and vary depending on season, length of stay and whether booked at the last moment. Please specify your desired dates on the "Rates & Availability" tab to obtain a quote for your specific circumstances.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fantastic experience. View is unbeatable. Fell asleep to the waves every night. Saw whales breaching from the Lanai. Easy short drive to Lahaina and Kapalua and great nearby amenities like Pau Bakery and Bad *** Coffee. The pool and BBQ are pretty wanky and there is no spa, but the unit was clean and well maintained. There are laundry facilities if you need them and parking is super easy. If you are looking for something quiet and relaxing this is the place. If you want the mega-resort feel, go somewhere else.

Wonderful, great location!

We had a great time! You can’t beat this view and stepping right out to the beach. The only thing I’d change isn’t even a complaint—I’d have a shower wand in the shower to make it easier to clean sand out of the shower. (I just kept a bowl in there to rinse it.) Corner view and watching the baby whales jump while enjoying breakfast was magical.

After 14 Years Coming to Maui, not the best experience -

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I take my family to Maui every year and usually stay at a nearby condo for the last 14 years. My son and I always end up spending a day at the Honokawai Beach Park, as it’s shallow beach is great so this year, for our last year visiting, we decided to stay at Hale Kai and got what I thought their best location. Unfortunately regretted it in an instant. This corner unit is surrounded by glass windows which gives you best view: sunset and the ocean at all times, it also heats up the entire condo to 102 degrees inside. There is no AC in the unit. You may think oh the fans and breeze is enough, you are wrong. The high noon sun will cook you inside and not even the light filtering shades will help because — well they’re only light filtering. When you start cooking, oh it’s over. You’ll feel like you’re being cremated. On our last 2 nights there I ended up moving my family out and getting a hotel nearby because guess what, there was a power outage that made our situation worse! While it’s not their fault, we were told by people there that it’s been happening and no one warned us about it upon booking. With how hot that place gets + power outage = slow and painful death and I have my senior parents and child with me. They refused to give me a partial refund for the last 2 nights which is disappointing because they’re double what I used to pay for. Will never recommend. Will never use again.

Lovely Family Vacation

We had a lovely family vacation staying at this location. The proximity to the beach, pool access and closeness of shops was great. The condo had everything we needed to cook meals. We would love to come here again.

Son-in-law and daughter are able to enjoy snorkeling and granddaughter enjoys exploring and running on the beach as well as swimming in the pool. Am concerned about the condition of the property. Mop boards and doors were very dirty as well as some walls.

Great location

Great location and right by the beach. You can hear the waves and see sea turtles and whales. The condo was very clean, check-in information was very smooth. The only issue was we found a cockroach on the bedroom wall the first night.

Steps to the beach and pool and park, and beautiful sunset views with sea turtles swimming around. Walking distance to grocery & fresh fish take-out and a very short drive to many beaches and restaurants. Included great beach amenities such as beach towels, chairs and a cooler. Kitchen amenities were a little lacking (no salt and pepper or olive oil, and nothing to store leftovers.) Both the unit and property were very clean. The tv and Wi-Fi weren't working properly but the manager solved that for us quickly. A few lights were out but we let the manager know at the end of our stay and I'm sure they fixed it. We would highly recommend for a small family who wants a more laid back vacation away from the mega resorts.

Hale Kai Spring Break

We just stayed a week at this property, and absolutely loved our time. We took along my mother, and two young children ages 4 and 8. They had a great time running out to the sand and playing/snorting in the ocean all day! The snorkeling was by far my favorite. Comfortably slept five people, which a Murphy bed not shown in the pictures. The property management was very responsive( when we said that the beach chairs were rusted and one was almost broken, as they immediately brought us four brand new chairs for our stay). Things to consider… I would recommend bringing any pool/ beach toys for kids, as there were some inflatables and a few sand toys, but not much. The TVs are positioned oddly (just the way the condo’s layout is… nothing you can really change, but not comfortable so we didn’t watch TV much-used our own laptop/iPad). Keep in mind, even at 84 degrees, it did get quite warm in the late afternoon, so sleeping with all fans on and windows open in the evening was a must. However, the white noise of the ocean added a nice ambience and was perfect to fall asleep to. The furniture is a bit outdated, needs some new paint, and could use some new pillows for the beds, but beyond that it was impeccable. People walked by on the main path, which is your patio but everyone was friendly. Pros: THE VIEWS are out of this world, and never got old.The kitchen had everything you needed to cook, and the biggest pro was being right on the beach while cooking or laying out on the patio. You are close to coffee and shops. Parking was easy and laundry on site. The barbecues were clean, and the pool was a fun break from the tides. Overall, many stars. We would definitely stay here again! Aloha!
