Apartment 120 is the closest ground floor unit to the beach, pool gate access, BBQ area and Honu watching. All just a few steps from the living room and lanai. Great for guests of all ages.

Room with a view!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed this unit. We had full views of the channel between us and Moloka'i. We were there about mid January and had great views of whales. The unit is comfortable and clean, plenty of room for 3 or 4 people. Nearby there is a great coffee shop and bakery, and a Boss Frogs.

Amazing view and quiet area

This ground unit has excellent views, house is very clean and staffs are friendly. Apartment doesn’t have AC, but most of time is comfortable . Really love it!

I’ve loved every unit that I have stayed in but think 120 is my favorite. Parked right next to our door, 20 ft to the beach for our daily float, Pool and BBQ just steps away. I love Hale Kai! Until next time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place does the trick, is well maintained, and gets you as close to the ocean as you'll want to be. My family and I (2 adults and 2 grown kids) thoroughly enjoyed the pool, snorkeling with sea turtles, and the proximity to great coffee (Bad *** Coffee is fantastic) and other amenities. The places is simple but quiet, safe, and centrally located. Super clean, everything works, and the grills outside are a gem.

Great apartment, well-maintained, and at good location

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. The apartment is well maintained, well equipped and clean. The location is right next to the ocean, and near shops and the main highway. Highly recommended.

A true Maui Gem

Reviewer Comments: Love the Hale Kai & have stayed In 1 bedroom units several times in addition to numerous times in Unit 120 (which is the very best location just steps from the ocean & a small beach). There are two well-maintained BBQ's on the property as well. We were treated to watching whales breaching nearly every day of our stay! The unit was very clean and property managers (Valerie #1 and Valerie #2) are the best and quick to respond to any questions or needs. The fact the deadbolt on the front door does not work should be corrected promptly as that is a safety issue and reported to management the day of our arrival. We love the Hale Kai and we will be back!

Reviewer Comments: Unit 120 is in a good location on the property Easy access to the bbq and poolUnit has a nice bathroom and shower The kitchen is tiny and narrow with room for one person at a time and the refrigerator door blocks entry into the kitchen Dishes and cooking pans are minimal with out any plastic dishes/ glasses to take poolside.Furniture is pretty and by adding some bedroom pillows was comfortable Renters need to know that the pool is not heated so not kid friendly although most renters are older couples with out children

Simply paradise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I really didn’t want to write a review because everyone will want to stay here and then it won’t be available when I want to come back. This is my third stay at the Hale Kai. All were great, but I stayed on the side with a view of the park. This unit was so convenient to pool access and the beach where upon arrival we were greeted with a rainbow and a slumbering sea turtle on the beach. We saw breaching whales in the distance as well, but that is march in Maui. Probably not so much any other time of year.The actual accommodations were more than adequate. The dishes and silverware and whole condo had a theme. Beds comfy too. I even preferred to sleep on the couch. Great view and you are lulled to sleep by the waves.The locals that live in the building put up with us travelers and blow a conch at their sunset ceremony every night. Wanna feel like a local? Stay here. But save a week for me...

First time to Hawaii

Our family of 4, all adults had a great stay at Hale Kai! It was in the perfect location on the beach. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening and morning coffee on our patio looking out at the ocean. It is a small quiet condo complex within walking distance of shops and food. We had a wonderful family trip!

Wonderful Hawaiian Experience!

We were greeted with a wonderful “ Aloha Basket” of local treats and a personal note from them owner that was much appreciated. The lanai was 18 steps (counted them!) from the sea wall and we spent many “happy hours” out there enjoying the view. Watching for whales and spotting sea turtles added to the experience. The property was fairly well maintained and a problem with the sliding screen door was fixed the day after we arrived. The unit is small in square footage, but we spent most of our time outside, so it didn’t seem to be a problem. Parking was available and convenient. Coin operated washers and driers are on the property and worked well. On the down side, the bathroom smelled musty unless we kept the fan on 24/7. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt the condo gave us a wonderful Hawaiian experience.

A piece of heaven

Everything we need to relax in one place. Easy access to the private beach & beautiful pool. Non obstruct view of the ocean, got to see whales & turtle while seating on the patio. Property was very well maintained by staff, pool & Bbq grill were clean daily. Pool along ocean, great for sunset viewing to end your day.

Sadly I would not recommend it

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view was absolutely gorgeous but unfortunately that was the only positive aspect of the complex. The whole place was not cleaned, there were dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinets, the floor was sticky, lamps switches were sticky, tons of dust on the lampshades, furniture etc etc.We didn’t have enough sheets for all of the beds but Melody the manager was great with providing what was missing, she also sent a lady to clean the floor but there was way too much beyond the floor. I was disappointed that for what we paid for this stay the apartment was in such a poor condition,All the furniture really should be replaced ( dirty stained chairs and beds) Dirty fans etc etc It wasn’t a pleasant stay but the location and the view were wonderful.

Love this Location, but its time for mattresses

It is in need of new beds throughout. There is no longer an office onsite. We love this location so much that we have been putting up with the deteriorating, well loved unit.

Perfect for grandparents and pregnant granddaughter

Our vacation was a college graduation gift for our 25 year old granddaughter, who was expecting her first child in four months. We wanted a small, quiet, unglitzy family friendly place on the water, within walking distance of groceries and small restaurants, and a short drive to excellent snorkeling spots. We loved both the farmer's market, across the street, and the public park, frequented mainly by locals and their kids, next door. My husband found it inviting enough to do some plein-air watercolor painting, while I read in the shade. Our granddaughter relished languishing in the pool, enjoying final days before assuming the responsibilities of motherhood. Our condo was just right; Valerie and the rest of the staff were most accommodating and helpful. Hale Kai is a delightful place and we all felt very fortunate to have found it. We would love to return some day.

Cockroaches are somehow getting in.But, overall, is a comfortable property in a great location
