We loved our week at the Cozy Cottage, even though it rained a fair amount. The cottage is rustic and quirky, but it has all the kitchen appliances and equipment that we could want--even a dishwasher--and it was comfortably furnished. There's a washing machine, but no dryer, so we hung our laundry on the line when the weather was good, and on a large wooden rack when it rained. It's located at the end of a winding, bumpy dirt road--best to drive a car with good clearance. It felt like being at my late grandfather's getaway cottage.
This isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for an old time getaway, this is the place. There is no TV, but there are dozens and dozens of books in the bookcases. The vinyl collection is classic. On rainy days we settled into the stuffed chairs and read with the sound of rain on the roof. It's just a perfect place to de-stress and unwind.
On the sunny days we spent time at the lake, enjoying the canoe and kayaks. Our dog had so much fun swimming in the clean, clear water and jumping off the dock.
Cathryn was very responsive and easy to deal with. We shopped at Market Basket and highly recommend Gunther Tooties for fresh NY style bagels.
