The stay and experience were delightful. All directions were clear, easy to follow, and reasonable. If I make it back to Anchorage, I will definitely look for this booking again.

This was booked for Board Members to travel up for strategic planning sessions and the location worked out very well. Nice and clean, easy to get into and there was a request to check-in early and the host communocated timely and was accommodating! Very nice experience.

1st time in a vrbo, beds were good, all rooms should have a tv for better sleep experience also as most have tv in bedroom at home, needs blackout shades for sure, Shower head needs to be higher, I donā€™t take long shower and ran into cold water daily. It was clean and most of all good. Remove the period at end of wi-fi password because itā€™s not used and can be confusing.

It was hard to adjust to 23 hours of daylight. Blackout curtains would have helped a lot. Other than that, it was fine.

I already reviewed this stay, but neglected to mention that there was not cable tv available, and needed passwords for Netflix, etc, so I was not able to use the tv at all.

Wonderful layout!

The apartment is really close to the coastal trails and down town. The open layout is great for visiting- a comfortable cozy space. Well stocked IKEA like kitchen and comfy beds. Itā€™s an older building but the apartment was updated and clean. There really isnā€™t a sleeper couch, but we didnā€™t need it, just two love seats so would be fine for kids to sleep on. Some quirks with the stove and lighting and itā€™s fairly noisy with the heating system, washing machine and neighbors, but not anything we couldnā€™t deal with. Also- not a problem for us but thereā€™s a steep set of stairs getting to the apartment from the parking lot- could be a problem for some. If the price were a little lower I would have felt like the value was better!

No better location than this!

I feel quite fortunate to have stumbled upon this gemā€¦I know the area well, and this place was a needle in a haystackā€¦I will return and stay here for non winter travel to the areaā€¦.(there are outdoor stairs to get up to the unit, this could be a challenge for anyone elderly or with heavy luggage during snow months)I read some complaints about a funny smellā€¦I also experienced this when I first arrivedā€¦that smell was distinctly bleach from cleaningā€¦simple fixā€¦I opened the windows to eliminate the fumes (for a future booking I will request the cleaner use a lemon scented or diluted bleach prior to my arrival) The unit itself is sizable and has everything you need ā€¦it was like showing up to my homeā€¦all I needed was my clothes! I was even pleasantly surprised with coffee and snacksā€¦contact was available when I called with a question. If you like quaint and creative settings, this is your placeā€¦its next to foliage which also is nice. Honestly, Iā€™d like to keep this place a secretā€¦but thought Iā€™d repay the favor for someone looking for a great place to stay close to downtownā€¦Bootleggers Cove is the best location!!

Good, butā€¦

This is a home with a lot of positives but some major drawbacks. First the good: the layout is exactly as expected per the listing. The kitchen is roomy and clean with plenty of coffee and tea plus some snacks. The living room is reasonably comfortable but the tv is extremely difficult to figure out. An instruction sheet is very much needed. The bathroom is clean and the washer and dryer work well, plus detergent and a number of toiletries are in the drawers. Now for the negatives: this place is NOISY!! It is on the ground floor with another apartment above and believe me when I say you can hear every step as if an elephant were stomping overhead. Even the water being run in this unitā€™s bathroom sounds like it is right in the main bedroom. Very poor soundproofing in the construction. Finally, we had a mouse as a guest on the first night. Fortunately my husband was smart enough not to tell me about it till later in the trip. And the floors were not that clean. The neighborhood is conveniently located to the beginning of town or the tiny Knowles trail, as long as you can walk (there is an uphill to navigate) or have a car.

Location - as listed - what we needed

We were looking for a comfortable, low priced, local property for our summer getaway. We were very happy with our stay. It was not some top of the line 5 star resort but it was exactly what we needed and was advertised as such. The weather unfortunately didnā€™t cooperate but we still enjoyed ourselves. We appreciate the owners for allowing us to stay. Thank you

Great base to explore Anchorage and surrounding area

Anthony was awesome reaching out before our arrival offering early check in, checking in with us to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Anchorage is easy town to navigate but this property and it's proximity to downtown made it a breeze to explore most if not all of the city - close to downtown, and it's amazing experiences from shopping to dinner and drinks - close to the train station as well fishing if time of high tide work well with your schedule. Thank you again, will definitely look up this property on our next visit.

Good location! Misleading description. Amateurish management.

I'll start with the good. This is a lovely spot a short walk from downtown and steps away from beautiful views of the sunset. The stove is nice. The water pressure is good. If I simply wanted a place to crash with a good location - say I was booking a bachelor party or something - this would be fine. Or if it's the last available place at your price point. Just don't proceed with high expectations. Now the bad: First - and this is a huge deal breaker for me - the description inaccurately claimed that there was a sleeper bed. There was not. So there weren't enough beds for my kids to sleep. That's a major frustration, as I could have saved money booking a place that sleeps four since that's all I was getting. Second - There were lots of non-functional things. Non working smoke detectors. 1/2 the lamps didn't operate. Several cabinet handles were broken. A microwave was broken (there were two). Third - when I texted the manager to ask about the missing sleeper bed, I received no reply. This is consistent with other reviews' experience of the communication issues. In general - much about the place was fairly shabby and dingy. Overgrown weeds blocked half the steps (which were in a state of disrepair verging on dangerous). It reminded me of my first apartment after college, actually. Which would have been fine if the daily charge wasn't what I used to pay for a month's rent :)

Great location!

This property is right next to the water in downtown Anchorage and was close to everything! The property itself was clean and had everything you needed, stocked with plenty towels, washcloths, and dishes. The only complaint is the responsiveness of the property manager. Included on the check-in instructions and property information was a number to call for questions, which was an automated system that left you no choice but to leave a voicemail. I left a voicemail but did not receive a call back. Once I emailed, I did receive a response the next day. Other than that, the stay was great!

These guys came thru in a pinch! They worked with my group to accommodate our check in when our other accommodations fell thru. Very communicative. The place was well set up- great kitchen, plenty of space. Awesome location

This place is great!

Loved the location! Great views, easy access to downtown, and a great base to explore Alaska. I travelled to Talkeetna & Seward, both fantastic. This was the ideal place to have an Alaskan adventure. I'm recommending this place to all my family and friends. I'll make sure to book it again next time I'm going to Anchorage, because there will be a next time.

Good: dƩcor is nice and modern, location awesome, easy access to coastal trail and downtown, coffee shop, bike rentals just a few blocks away, quiet and nice area, washer and dryer nice, bathroom updated and nice, condo was clean, updated appliances, nice large tv, accessible parking, easy check in/out, would recommend and stay again with a few minor updates. bad: only 3 towels provided, noisy place from neighbor apts and plumbing, minimal linens not enough for someone to stay on the tiny couch, a pull out sofa would be nice, FYI: shower head broken-free flowing,

Nice Spot

The Condo is in a nice location. Just off the coastal trail and easy walking distance to downtown. The upstairs neighbors are noisy and the floor of the apartment is also very noisy, but the place is nice and I enjoyed my stay there. The water pressure in the condo is also a bit ridiculous, everything shoots water out extremely fast. Other reviews complain about a broken door, its just sticks a bit, not a big deal. I would stay here again, great pricing and location. There is no sleeper sofa, that was the only thing that was unacceptable in my opinion. sucks to see it advertised and then not be there. I was less than exited to sleep on a recliner all week.

I do not recommend this place

Door will not open. You call Mike for help and will not come as he is in pajamas on first day with delayed flight. Same story next day door will not open. Mike will tell you on phone how to open the door and he promised me that he will fix the door by afternoon but it was not done. We came late evening after sightseeing and again unable to open the door. Mike says he will be there in 10 minutes and does not show up for 30+ minutes. We are tired from the long day and no help from responsible party for apartment. And story repeats again and again. We asked Mike to move to another apartment which was not given. Mike new about the door issue but owner or maintenance person do not want to fix and creating unnecessary hardship for the customers. No coffee mugs! Electrical outlets do not work, no hot water after one shower and someone is pacing and thumping floor above our apartment. Sitting outside and waiting and waiting for someone to open your accommodation is not a vacation......
