The "Cozy Cottage" is a charming home nestled in the woods of Idyllwild, CA. This home has 2 bedrooms, a loft, and 1 bathroom with a washer and dryer. The loft, located above the living room, is great for extra storage during longer stays. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen-sized beds. This home is perfect for a romantic getaway or a peaceful family retreat. The spacious deck is perfect for entertaining and stargazing during the summertime. The property also offers a large area for children to run and play. In the winter, guests can enjoy building sled runs and snowmen. Guests are welcome to explore the property and create their own nature walks, or take a short walk to town.


Streaming services are available, but guests must log in using their accounts.
This vacation rental is NOT equipped with air-conditioning.

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund, plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations Allowed for November, December, and January

- Pets: We do allow dogs, however, please note that there is a fee of $35 per dog per night. If you plan to bring more than one dog, you must obtain prior approval and additional fees may apply. When booking through selected third-party sites such as Airbnb, once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a payment request for the dog fee, which should be paid separately.

Check-in instructions: On your arrival day, the reserving guest will receive a text with check-in instructions between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. Please stop by our office to retrieve your key from the lockbox.

- Parking: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

- Outdoor lighting: Please note that outdoor lighting must comply with Riverside County regulations and must not blink, flash, or rotate. Guests will be held liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties.

- County permit number: 001346

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.

- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.

- Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $25 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.

- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.

- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.

Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional insurance for $70.00 non-refundable on the day of arrival.

Loved the Mountain View and the outside sitting areas. Also like being just a short drive from town yet felt like we were in the woods with privacy. The kitchen had everything we needed. Did not see a hot tub? Was in the listing but we did not see one - but it wasnā€™t important to us.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is close to town which is nice but I didn't see the value. For what I paid, I feel ripped off. Everything was old and run down. All of the furniture was incredibly uncomfortable. The beds especially were terrible. I left a day early just to get a good nights sleep. Sad inventory of kitchen equipment, although they had decent pots/pans and coffee/espresso maker. My stay was during Christmas so I did appreciate the christmas tree. Other visitors should note the path up to the house is all cobble, extremely uneven and not very safe. One of us ended up with a sprained ankle which seemed of no concern to the rental agency.

Second stay with my family and it was wonderful

This was my second time staying here with my family and it was perfect. The cabin was well equipped and we didn't need to bring anything besides our clothes! I was able to cook all meals in the kitchen. The location was perfect and close to town but far enough away from noise to make a peaceful experience. Will go there again!

Lovely mountain retreat

Beautiful property and very clean and comfortable home. We loved the spacious second-floor great room with large windows looking out into the trees and mountains. Both bedrooms open onto the large front deck where we enjoyed morning coffee. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful after some long days and we were very pleased with the good quality cooking ware and well-stocked kitchen. Definitely hope to come back again.

Amazing private cabin****

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this quiet cabin with views of trees out all the windows. The kitchen is extremely well equipped which was great as we cooked all our meals in. The fireplace was warm and cozy. The cabin was very clean and all the appliances and toilet are new. Couch and bed were comfortable. We would stay here again. šŸ˜

Cabin is quiet and cozy-secluded area surrounded by trees- cabin a bit run down-remote control issues, no batteries or low batteries- damp towels hanging in bathroom-damp sheets and towels in dryer- kitchen and bath very clean Check-in would have been better at 3:00 and honestly too far to walk to town where you would have to walk on the main road without a sidewalk, unsafe.

Lovely area, Mountain Viewā€™s and tall treesā€¦ cozy comfortable cottage- homey! Great restaurant- Ferros with wonderful jazz! Tuesday nights! Many restaurants closed early March- trips to desert an hour or so away- beautiful drive down the mountain! Peaceful, serene and friendly people! Secluded Cabin with all amenities

Cabin was spacious and fireplace was great. Heater worked great, especially with the cold weather outside. You do go through a patch of dirt road and it was hard to get the cars up the hilly ramp to park. Definitely recommend bringing chains roe that section or 4wd. We bought salt to spread on the ice and a shovel to clear some if the ice out. Other than that, ot was a great stay, everything worked great, grilled some meat outside.
