THE STANDARD BED LAYOUT IS FOR 11 GUESTS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ADD 4 SINGLE FOLD DOWN BEDS.

This stunning 2,500 sq.ft home is a perfect home away from home. Built in1915 our home still has many of the Edwardian features from this era, but also boasts an architect designed modern extension to the rear and beautiful landscaped gardens. On entering our wonderful home you will find a property that is steeped in character but has the benefit and comfort of all the mod cons.

Our beautiful home features a spacious, modern kitchen, dining room, 6 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The large garden has a heated and covered BBQ area, and there is parking within the property for up to four vehicles. Free WiFi is also available.

The standard bed layout of the house is:
3 bedrooms upstairs with two single beds in each bedroom
1 bedroom upstairs with one single bed
2 bedrooms downstairs with two single beds in each bedroom

The location is ideal as it is within walking distance to a host of sightseeing destinations including The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin Cemetery, and Museum. When it comes to delicious food, we are just a stone throw from the famous Gravediggers traditional tavern and tapas bar.

Our home is well serviced by public transport which will get you into Dublin City/downtown in 15 minutes (off-peak). Dublin Airport is a 15-20 minute drive, as is the M50 motorway which provides easy access to the rest of Dublin and the surrounding counties. Dublin City University is a short stroll away and here you will find recreational and sporting facilities. With a host of local shops, cafes, and bars, you will find this location an ideal home away from home.

Short sojourn in Dublin

We stayed three nights. The house was spacious and well stocked. Communication with Simon was excellent. Location was fantastic and close to Glasnevin cemetery. We had a great time.

Multi generation stay

It worked perfectly as elderly parents could sleep on the ground floor although it was a fair walk to the bathroom at the back of the house for them so just be aware of that.We already knew the area so its reasonable for a taxi to and from the airport and also into town. Bus was easily accessible for younger family members but not for parents as couldn't walk that far. However, we knew that, but its something to be mindful.of. Also be aware there are no railings on the few steps up to the house which Ihadn't particularly noticed from the pictures. Lounge is great size, as is dining room. Courtyard garden is lovely and we've bought my oarents one of the plants you'll find in the garden to remind them of the trip.

Amazing stay!! Would definitely stay again!!

Overall, this place was great!! Plenty of room, modern amenities, excellent kitchen, and clear instructions on how to get in, very secure, and safe. Access to a grocery account so we could have the fridge stocked and ready when we arrived was also very good. The BBQ in the garden was spectacular! The gardens were lovely and very private. Would be 5 stars, but we had a few minor issues: 1. Communication with property manager was good but no direct line to housekeeper, so she would just "show up", but we could not hear her to let her in and one time we were still in our bathrobes. A little awkward. 2. They did a great job of trying to baby-proof in advance of our stay and we really appreciate that. Despite best efforts, somehow my babes wound up finding hardware (screw, nuts, bolts) scattered throughout the house, in the carpet, along the walls, and on low shelves. 3. The heated floors were great in the early mornings, but there was no way to turn off the heat, and it got very, very hot, so we had to keep the windows open most of the time and doors between rooms closed to get some relief. We asked about having the heat turned off, but the housekeeper informed us that if she turned off the heat we would not be able to turn it back on anywhere in the house. 3. Generally clean but there was a lot of hair in the carpet, the ice fridge was frozen shut, and there was a little bit of a dog/garbage smell when we arrived. Overall, excellent and would definitely stay again!!

A lovely stay in Glasnevin...

10 people, ages 17-53, stayed 5-13 Aug 2023. CHECK-IN: Self check-in with specific instructions, easy to follow. CHECK-OUT: Easy departure process. All we had to do was empty trash and start the dishwasher, then lock up. BEDROOMS- Everyone had their own bed (and a few to spare) & we all found the beds quite comfortable. BATHROOMS- We were concerned that there were only 2 bathrooms for 10 of us, but it was no issue. Hot water was plentiful even after multiple showers. LAUNDRY- Washer small capacity compared to what we have in the States, but convenient to do a few small loads of laundry throughout the week. The separate dryer was nice and worked well as long as we remembered to empty the water chamber. KITCHEN- Well appointed & accomodated a crowd. 2 large fridges in the kitchen and a small freezer in the laundry area. 3 toasters, a panini press, 2 drip coffee makers, 2 french presses, 2 electric kettles, plenty of dishes and flatware. Automatic dishwasher too! LIVING SPACES- The TV room accommodated all 10 of us comfortably (big sectional sofa and we brought in a few dining room chairs). Dining room is pretty with the large glass doors/windows and the view of the back gardens. Great for meals & game playing. COMMUNICATION: Simon was AMAZING! He helped us with a few hiccups with the heating and was so easy to reach. LOCATION: Such a beautiful neighborhood! Great to walk around and convenient restaurants/groceries/etc. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home with renovations and lots of character.

Overall great home. Perfect location and beautiful updates. We were told of a lively bunch who occupied the home prior to our stay, which may have accounted for why it appeared a bit dirty when we arrived. After telling the house manager, she quickly resolved the issue and even provided additional snacks in an effort to make up for it. This was much more than I expected! In addition, the dryer seemed to be broken when we arrived and so we hung our clothes on lines in the yard. When the house manager noticed, she quickly ordered repairs and when that failed, the dryer was replaced on the same day. I can’t say enough how responsive, apologetic and communicative the house managers and owners were. Wonderful people and wonderful home! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and country with us! We will definitely be returning with family just around the corner!

Tolles Haus für viele Leute

Ein tolles Haus in guter Lage für 12 Leute! Simon war schon im Vorfeld mit vielen Tipps eine große Hilfe, war jederzeit erreichbar und Hilfreich. Fabi hat uns prompt unterstützt. Die Küche war super ausgerüstet und man sitzt tolll im Wintergarten! Die Bäder sind schön ausgestattet. Busse in die Stadt fahren ganz in der Nähe. Zum Einkaufen ist es etwas weiter. Wir haben eine tolle Zeit im Haus verbracht. Herzlichen Dank für die tolle VersOrtung an Fabi und Simon!

Beautiful place to stay.

This is a beautiful house with a mixture of old and new. It is well stocked with hairdryers, coffee maker, washer-dryer and all the conveniences of your own home. We were able to walk to the grocery store, the bus stop to downtown Dublin, and several restaurants, We had 11 people and there was more than enough room for visiting and sleeping. The driveway was large enough for us to park our 2 rented vehicles. The weather was cold, rainy, and then snowy so we could not enjoy the dining area or the patio area. If the weather had been warm we would have loved to sit outside and use the outdoor stove. The owner and manager were great. The owner emailed promptly when I had a question and the manager was available when we needed her. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone needing a large home.

Lovely Dublin Home

Our family of 13 from the Philadelphia area enjoyed our week long stay at "The Architect Designed House". Simon was very helpful in the planning of our visit to Ireland. Simon answered all our questions very promptly. The house is quite comfortable for large family gatherings. Simon and his staff provided us with all the amenities one would need (paper products, coffee, tea, sugar, milk etc...) when first arriving at the home. We were even treated to scones one morning! Vicky was at the house when we arrived and explained all we needed to know about the house. House is very close to Dublin, without the noise of the city. Taxi and buses were quite efficient, arriving within minutes. Botanical Gardens, Glasnevin Cemetery, groceries, liquor store and great pubs all within walking distance. I would highly recommend Simon's home to anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay in Glasnevin. Simon also had ordered us our taxi and van for our departure flight...right on time. Thank you Simon for an outstanding job from you and your team! I also highly recommend the Wild Rover Tours, we took a private bus tour to Galway, Belfast and Kilkenny areas. It was such a fantastic experience touring around Ireland with Sarah our guide. Again, many thanks Simon.

Spacious house right around the corner from the Botanical Gardens. We had plenty of room for our party of seven. Simon was very accommodating promptly taking care of unexpected problems. We had a great time in Dublin!

Family stay at Glasnevin house in Dublin

My family of 12 with 6 children and significant others was greatly accommodated by the extremely affordable house we found on AirBNB in Glasnevin, Dublin serviced by Near City Rentals. The house was perfect, slept 12 comfortably, huge kitchen, living room and dining area and 2 full baths but best of all was the beautiful outside area with gorgeous flora; great gathering place for socials. The house is fully stocked with everything you need for bed linens, toiletries, and kitchen needs. All you have to bring is food and beverages. They have TV and Netflix available which is included. You just have to be mindful of the neighbors and keep it quiet after 10pm. There are several shops and pubs within walking distance (e.g., The Tolka House, The Wash Woman, etc.) and a pizzeria. Near City Rentals was terrific and extremely responsive to any questions or needs that we had. We locked ourselves out of the house and they were there in 15 minutes to let us back in. They also let you know everything there is to see or do in the area (pubs, restaurants, food stores, tourist sites, etc.) and transportation as well. If you're visiting Dublin, and want to save money as opposed to a hotel, contact Near City Rentals about this house or similar rentals.

Perfect house

This home was perfect for our large group. Clean, beautifully designed and decorated. Within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and pubs. Simon was so helpful and responsive to any questions we had. We didn't want to leave! This rental was the perfect house for us, we will be back.

Beyond our expectations!

Glasnevin was absolutely wonderful! Our house managers Fabi and Vicki made our stay very easy. We had 13 people in our party and there was plenty of room. We had a small issue with the washer but Simon and his team took care of everything ASAP. We would definitely stay again in the future!!

Beautiful home convenient to Dublin city

Absolutely beautiful home, with a bus stop 2mins walk where you can catch the no 83 bus into the city centre (O'Connell Street). It is 10mins walk away from the beautiful Botanic Gardens, and 20mins drive from Tayto Park. The house is absolutely stunning inside having been modernised whilst retaining many of its period features. The living space includes 3 large sitting areas, with the 2 main areas accommodating our group of 12 easily. There were complimentary refreshments for every member of our group as well as a large variety of specialized teas and coffee, a variety of condiments as well as fresh bread. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, plates, cutlery, etc. They also provided shampoo/conditioner, fresh towels and hairdryers in each room. There is access to the complimentary WiFi which worked perfectly throughout our stay and a Smart TV in the main living room. The outside living area is amazing, and we made use of the outside gas BBQ which had all the tools that you would need. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer should anyone need it. Fabi was very accommodating and lovely to deal with and Simon dealt with the booking process promptly. Genuinely loved our stay in this amazing house and would/am recommend(ing) it to anyone.

Exceeded expectations

We were a group of 15 women had an absolutely amazing weekend in Glasnevin and Dublin. The house exceeded expectations and was absolutely perfect for our group, plenty of room for everyone to sleep, dine and hang out. Wonderful outside area which we got to enjoy on one night at least! Scone delivery on Saturday morning was a lovely surprise! The house was wonderfully kitted out and beautifully decorated, with lots of nice touches – would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a large rental in Dublin. Excellent customer service throughout the booking process also, thank you Simon.

Couldnt be better

My family (2 adults and 3 teenagers) and my sister in law (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and mother-in law for a few days had a wonderful week at this Glasnevin property and highly recommend it for anyone seeking accommodation in this area.. From the initial contact with Simon to the last day we were extremely well looked after, communicated with swiftly and appropriately and all requests and questions were met with a well informed and supportive response. Thank you sincerely Simon. Kieran met us initially at the property and Fab enabled the exit and both were very friendly and helpful as well. The house was amazing: loads of natural light and space, several living areas, spacious bedrooms and a lovely garden and outside area and other attractive features and the only regret was we didn't stay longer and will certainly pursue a return visit in the not too distant future when we travel again from Australia. The house was extremely well appointed and all equipment and facilities worked perfectly, as did the Wi Fi which was totally appreciated by the teenagers but by us all. The house was very close to a service station (one minute up the road) a supermarket ( 2 minutes up the road) and ideally located to restaurants and to the Dublin CBD (15 minutes) and the M50 (which we used frequently) only 10 minutes away. I cant speak highly enough of this accommodation and the staff support. Thank you Simon, Kieran and Fab. We had a fantastic time and hope to see you again soon. Gavan Leonard
