Two bedroom, two bath partial ocean view fourth floor condo. Good walking, windsurfing, kitesurfing beach fronts this oceanfront condo complex in North Kihei. A couple of minutes away from Kamaole Beach I, one of the great beaches on the sunny South shore. Recently remodeled kitchen w/ more updates to come. This condo is located at the end of the Building, with a partial ocean view. Air conditioning in living room and bedrooms. Condo has a king bed in the Master Bedroom, queen in the Guest bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the living room + complimentary WiFi!!

Beach was convenient, not great for snorkeling though. We saw one turtle and a few fish. A great space and nice beach equipment to use.

Not what I expected

Plus: kitchen/living room spaces are good, updated; location in Kihei is goodNegatives: bathrooms are outdated, doors are splitting & ceiling covering in MBR hanging down; faucet in MBR is terrible: hard to turn on & control temperature. CANNOT lock the patio door in MBR: door doesn't latch & lock cannot be secured. Unit door lock needs to be replaced: usually took 2-4 tries to get into unit. Water dripping from neighboring condo is a safety issue due to water on the floor right outside unit door,Would stay in a different condo in Maui Sunset but NOT this unit.

Amazing places to stay.

My wife and I spent a few days at this location and absolutely enjoyed our entire time. It’s close to the beach and some fantastic restaurants.

Great budget stay in Kihei

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay. The condo is a little run down, which we were aware of. The management company was very responsive with issues like broken chairs, fan remote issues etc. In the end all was well and we enjoyed our stay.

Another February in Maui

We had a strange event questioning if we were purchasing movies on the TV which was bizarre. I can guarantee you we do not come to Maui to watch TV movies!!!! We responded and asked for clarification which we never received. Will be checking my Visa to be sure nothing was charged. This was obviously a scam of some sort.The linens were lovely; pots and pans great, more knives than anyone could use, but not enough small bowls or spoons. The coffee maker was good. We had a wonderful time. Thanks.

Family Wedding

My daughter had her wedding on a Maui Beach. They both met at work at the Wailea Urgent care back in 2015. They are now living in Florida but wanted to get married in Maui and his family lives on Maui. The stay at the condo was awesome. Thank you to the security guard when we held a family gathering on the grounds a day after the wedding. We will be ever blessed to come the week before the tragic fires. We spend an afternoon/evening walking Front Street in Lahaina. Our prayers are with Maui during this very sad time.

A trip in paradise

We love Maui Sunset. This is our second time staying at the property. The only complaint I would have, and it’s not even a deal breaker, is the unit we stayed in is the furthest unit in the complex from the beach and closest to the road. I could hear cars drive by all night from my room. Other than that, the unit was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. The hideaway bed was by far the most comfortable one we’ve ever felt.

Great stay, a little outdated

The location is perfect. The scenery and grounds are beautiful. Very helpful staff and kind people. The condo is outdated and was a bit dirty when we arrived. The air conditioner in the master didn’t work well and had a red light on so we shut it off. I’m sure it will be taken care of for the next time. We turned the fan on and left the glass door open with the screen shut at night and it stayed cool enough with the breezes. We loved the yard and such. Plenty for the kids to do with the putting green, tennis, shuffle board, swimming pool and just beautiful grounds all together. Very pristine. The beach has very nice soft sand and it’s shallow for a long ways out but it’s not ideal for snorkeling or surfing. Overall a great stay in a fantastic environment.

Needs Improvement

I rented 3 units in the same complex for my family. This unit was the poorest of the 3. The condo could use a coat of paint and some basic repairs to cabinets and tile. A/C unit in main room was not working 80% of the time. Although it provided the basic needs, we believe a little TLC could make this unit on par with the unit directly below that I also rented that became the center for our family as it was considerably nicer and maintained.

Nice location but will never stay in the room again

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort is right on the beach - which was wonderful. However the room was not clean and was needed some maintenance. The sink was broken, there was exposed sheetrock, items were broken or missing, fire alarm kept going off, lights didn’t work, and everyday it seemed like something else went wrong. The most concerning was the lack of cleaning. There was mold on the toilet, food and who knows what on the walls, and commonly touched surfaces like doors were filthy. We reached out to management and no other two bedrooms were available. They did offer a one bedroom for our second week but that wouldn’t meet my families needs. While we did eventually get a partial credit/refund (after many emails back and forth) it was a disappointing experience. Instead of enjoying our much needed vacation I had to constantly worry about what else we would find broken or not functioning. The resort as a whole was very clean and well kept - even during a wind/rain storm. While we liked the resort and the location I am not sure if we will return due to our experience. Which is disappointing as it came highly recommended by a dear friend who frequents there multiple times a year.

Needs a little TLC, but overall a comfortable stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We checked in to room 401A. Many items were not working (lights, air conditioner, etc.). The refrigerator was dirty inside. Room location is way in the back by the road. Wendi and David were great. They moved us to a new room near the beach while repairs were made on the old room. They saved our vacation after an initial bad experience. Location of the Maui Sunset is very nice, right by the beach. We would definitely stay here again, but not in room 401A.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay. The unit was very outdated and needs some serious renovations, especially the window coverings, kitchen sink, and bathrooms (no toilet paper holder in one). Best part was the lanai and ocean view. The adjacent beach was very nice also.
