Set amidst the sage with stunning Taos Mountain views, 360 degree mesa mountain views and located a short distance between Taos Ski Valley and the town of Taos makes "House of the Turquoise Gate" an ideal vacation getaway.

With the discerning vacationer in mind, this top choice 3 bedroom 2 full bathroom view home has been tastefully appointed with upscale furnishings, bedding, dƩcor and art.

The east adobe wall enclosed, and beautifully landscaped, yard, offers total privacy with breathtaking panoramic views. Also provided is a wood burning steel fire pit, gas grill, private hot tub and covered portal (Spanish for covered patio or walk way").

Behind the "Turquoise Gate" is a second adobe wall enclosed private area with patio table, chairs and Mexican "horno" (earthenware wood burning outdoor fireplace) lovely for ambiance and roasting marshmallows.

Top to bottom, southwest architecture fills every room from viga ceilings to Saltillo tile floors plus wood burning kiva fireplace takes center stage in the great room. Every window offers either mountain or open mesa views with additional distant mountain views.

After a day of Taos skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, shopping, touring, exploring, guests return to the amazing star filled skies like they've never before experienced. A soak in the hot tub viewing Taos dark night skies without city light glare has been labeled "a life changing experience".

This house has everything you need! Fireplace. Hot tub. Heated floors. Privacy. Luxury accommodations. Stocked kitchen. Conveniently located between 4 ski resorts. Lots of local restaurants and bars. The house is great for your mountain vacations. The caretaker is very responsive. The location is very quiet with great views of the mountains and dark skies for star gazing, but not the most convenient to town. One note is that the house is on a dirt road, and is difficult to find if you are arriving at night. Some reflective numbers or marking would help.

Perfect place

From the sunrises to sunsets, this place was perfect for our stay. My brother skied everyday while my mother and I took drives to Los Alamos and Bandelier National Park, up to Colorado, and around the Taos area. The house provided everything from extra towels to an ice cream scooper for a little treat. We each had our own rooms that suited us perfectly. My room faced the mountains and each morning I watched the sunrise. The heated floor was extra special in that room. Beds were great and provided a restful sleep. I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely comfortable stay!

This property was wonderful. Comfortable- very well stocked and felt like we were staying at a friendā€™s house. The neighborhood is quiet and itā€™s easy to get to town or to ski valley. The beds were comfy, kitchen EXTREMELY well stocked- if you forgot a basic at the grocery, it was there- from salt to nonstick spray. Bathrooms were great, showers with good water pressure, and we didnā€™t experience the hot water issues another reviewer did - just have to wait a bit for the water to warm in shower by king bedroom- nbd. Couches comfy- great streaming on tv- all around a really good trip and a really good house. Stay here!!!

It's located near enough for a quick drive into town for dinner or drinks and about 30 minutes to Taos Ski Valley, but also in a quiet, sleepy part of town. Everything was extremely clean and well appointed. The bed, sheets, and pillows were all fantastic. This is my second stay with Premier Properties of Taos and the bedding is far and above 99% of other vacation rental homes. I would very much recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in Taos.

Comfy Home with Great Views

Great house managed by a good company. Caretaker was very responsive replenishing our firewood and adjusting the hot tub settings. Hot tub was nice, maybe a bit cozy for more than two or three adults. House was well insulated and warm (we stayed during a cold snap with snow every day). Drive to Taos Ski Valley was easy and to town also a breeze. Would definitely stay there again.

We took our family to spend new years at the House of the Tourquoise gate and it was really low key magic. Great floorplan and the hot tub was great with the snow all around outside. Just a few minutes drive down the quaint twisty backways into Taos. The only recommendation would be a bluetooth soundsystem. (perhaps there was but we could not find it)

Beautiful home away from home!
