This Papakea condominium has a commanding ocean view of Molokai and Lanai. You will be able to enjoy breakfast in the morning and toast the sunset in the evening from the privacy of your own lanai that is just 50 feet from the ocean. Winter is the season for whale and dolphin watching; bring your binoculars.

You will awake to the sites and sounds of the beautiful surf from your loft sleeping suite. Perk some Kona coffee and start your day Maui style, slow and easy. A morning walk along the ocean will take you as far away as Black Rock on beautiful Kaanapali Beach or as close as the off shore reef.

Papakea has 13 acres of lush gardens with tropical koi ponds. The tennis courts, putting greens and pools/hot tubs make your time as relaxing or as busy as you chose. Children especially enjoy swimming in the pools and making sand castles by the ocean. You have the option of dining in by using the newly remodeled kitchen or by barbecuing poolside or by heading out to any one of the numerous restaurants within a five mile radius.

The main floor bedroom can sleep three with one queen-size bed and one twin bed. The loft sleeping area sleeps two on a queen-size bed and has its own bathroom. There is also a high quality queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room.

Our posted nightly rate includes the $17 per day Facility Use Fee, parking for one car and check-in and check-out cleaning. Please note that we are required to collect and pass along to the state of Hawaii and the county of Maui a total of 17.42% tax. Your payment amount will reflect the posted nightly rate PLUS the 17.42% tax.

October 22, 2023: To help victims of the Lahaina fire, which destroyed the homes of nearly 1800 families, some owners at Papakea are providing their units as temporary housing. The Lahaina families now residing at Papakea are a valuable part of our resort community, and we are proud that Papakea owners have been able to provide some relief and stability in the face of this tragedy. Currently, Papakea is also providing lobby space to the Red Cross and other relief agencies who are supporting those families. Your experience at Papakea will be no different than before, other than the added opportunity to meet and interact with some of our Lahaina ohana (friends and family) who are temporarily calling Papakea their home. If, during your stay, you would like to do some volunteer work to help with the ongoing relief effort, please check with the staff at our front desk who have access to volunteer opportunities. Mahalo for staying with us and by making the choice to visit Maui. Your vacation helps support Maui workers and with the sustained recovery of the island.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lou’s VRBO. We spent lots of time just relaxing on the lanai. Daily views of sunsets, turtles, and whales was amazing! We used one of the grills in the pool area several nights and it worked out great! Pool and hot tub were nice. You do have to walk a little way down the beach to get to a swimming area, but we didn’t mind. Overall we found the location to be great as we explored the entire island. We would stay there again!

Lou and Patty were exceptional hosts and highly recommend choosing their place for your stay on Maui. We had everything we needed at our fingertips. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the A/C kept all areas comfortable. We spent time each morning and evening on the lanai. Even saw a couple whales swim by. Everything was perfection. Such a fabulous way to spend my birthday. And when we had some travel troubles on the way home, Lou was quick to respond and very helpful and accommodating. I cannot thank Lou and Patty enough!

Maui Getaway!

Wonderful oceanfront condo

This clean, cozy, well-equipped condo with a terrific oceanfront lanai was perfect for the four of us! Our early morning snorkeling with the fish and turtles at Kapalua Bay and at Kahekili Beach Park, followed by breakfast and coffee on the lanai while watching the whales was simply heaven on earth. At the end of the day, sunset on the lanai was the perfect location to enjoy memorable meals, some home-cooked and some from local eateries. At night the sounds of the waves lulled us to sleep on very comfortable beds. We would love to come back to this special condo!

Papakea Paradise!

Papakea was beautiful from the first minute of check-in with friendly staff and lovely grounds. The amenities available were top-notch and you really can't beat the ocean right at your front doorstep! Amazing trip from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend staying at Papakea! I hope to return again someday!!

Amazing time in Maui!

My family and i just returned from the best vacation we have ever had! If you are looking for an ocean front fully stocked condo, with great owners this is it! The place had everything we needed for a great base camp while we explored the wonders of Maui.We enjoyed morning coffee by the ocean and evenings watching sunsets on the balcony. The resort has many amenities: including 2 pools, activities, putting green, shuffle board. The resort is located within walking distance of several restaurants, food truck park, a grocery store and ABC store. Most of all, Lou was fantastic communicating before and during the rental. This was my best experience using VRBO! Thank you for sharing your wonderful place!

We loved our stay at Lou and Patty’s condo. You cannot beat the views and the condo was so well stocked. Beautiful Oceanfront Condo

Beautiful, oceanfront condo. The Papakea Property is well maintained with lots of amenities. We enjoyed the pool, bbqs, shuffleboard ,snorkeling, beach next door, evening sunsets and the nearby walking path. A huge plus was the three AC units within the condo.

Fabulous!

We had an amazing time! Everything was as described - actually better! Location is close to everything. The kids loved sitting at the beach just outside of the property. We took many walks on the beach, spent plenty of time at the pool and loved the quick access to the ABC store. We open to return again someday. Thank you for a seamless experience!

Wonderful condo was a great view!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Lou’s place! The condo was clean, comfortable and made us feel at home! The view is to die for! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the Lanai as well as out evening beverages! The beds are comfortable. The kitchen as everything you need to put together meals if you wish. All appliances are in good working order. They even provide Folgers coffee which we enjoyed every morning! We highly recommend this condo to all our friends and family!

Best vacation!

The condo was as listed. The view was great! The beach was just south of “L” building. The Pool/Jacuzzi and courtyard activities were close. AC units worked great! They had all the necessary spices and pots/pans to cook with. Having a washer and dryer with detergent supplied was a plus. We loved sitting on the lanai listening to the waves and watching whales!

Loved this unit and Papakea

Spent a month here so this was an in-depth experience. The unit is very well stocked, furnished and equipped. Much better than the usual. Owner is super responsive and nice. Best ocean view we've ever had and we've seen a lot. Not too high or low and very close to water. Visited many communities in west Maui and none better than Papakea even for much more money. It's got a relaxed, low key family vibe we didn't see anywhere else. Hope to return soon.

We found this to be the nicest condo and resort we have stayed at. We try and go once a year to the islands,and you never know what you get until you get there. This unit was so clean and had everything one could ever need.The location was great and the view, sunsets and looking at Lanai & Molokai. When we retun to Maui in 2010 we will stay here again, Lou & Patty did a great job on this condo. Mahalo Ted & Mary

First trip to Maui

This rental home was an absolute dream! Thank you Patty and Lou for sharing your slice of paradise with us. Everything was perfect from the moment we booked to the moment we checked out. Nothing will ever top the daily beautiful view we had right from the balcony! The place was better than we expected and made our first trip so enjoyable and memorable. The rental home had everything we needed to experience the beauty of Maui and it was so conveniently close and within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Our family of 4 absolutely love this place and we definitely plan to be back! Mahalo!

Finally Time for Maui Time!

Some may feel like any time spent in one’s Maui condo is time wasted. I disagree if the condo is Lou and Patty’s! The view is so breathtaking that you feel a part of the sea; like you are floating on the crystal water. Staring out the wall of windows was a full time treat. This joy alone could have made up for any issues within the condo but quite honestly; we have only compliments. The condo is so thoughtfully stocked that we wanted for nothing. Every mattress and pillow was comfortable as well. I especially was impressed with the sofa bed. I am going to order this mattress for my sofa bed at home. It was that comfy! We plan to return and stay much longer!

Amazing views!

The ocean view from the lanai cannot be beat! Absolutely stunning ocean view which justified the price for us. Owner has the place stocked with everything you could need (and more!) for a long stay on the island. On-site property manager was prompt at addressing a minor AC issue. We were pleasantly surprised by what the resort had to offer - nice pools, free mai tais on Thursdays, and grounds very clean and well kept. Parking was easy and convenient. Lots of friendly guests on property. We have typically stayed at more updated/newer resorts and in our opinion the condo interior could use a facelift, but again, you come to Maui to get outside and enjoy mother nature’s views… not the inside of the condo views. :) Overall, great place, excellent accommodations and superior customer service by Lou & Papakea staff.

Excellent accommodations!! Phenomenal View!

This was our 3rd trip to Hawaii but for a variety of reasons could never make it to Maui until now. What a treat it was! The condo was everything and even more. No detail was overlooked. As a VRBO owner myself I looked for and noticed the extras in the kitchen, bedroom, supply closet (cooler pack!), and bathroom that made our stay easier and convenient. Appreciated the in-unit washer and dryer, beach towels, the full size shampoo/conditioner, and all that the kitchen offered because my husband loves to cook, and most meals we enjoyed eating on the lanai. Lets talk about the view from the lanai. Hello! We stayed Feb 7-12 and whale activity was at it's peak. No binoculars needed! So spectacular! I am a fitness walker, and distance runner so I enjoyed exploring while covering mile after mile of this beautiful side of the island. Lastly, I want to pass along that Patty and Lou were wonderful and deserve an A+ from us as owners. They were quick to respond to my few questions I had. Thank you so much for such a memorable stay at an awesome rental!

Incredible Views. Incredible Value.

Our stay was from 2-22-24 to 2-28-24. The unit is in one of the beachfront buildings, so the view from the 6'x15' lanai was worth the whole cost. The extra 1000+ sq ft condo space was pure bonus. We were there during whale watching season, and the live marine show was out of this world. From the lanai, we saw whales constantly. We saw sea turtles feeding in the surf right in front of us. We saw dolphins in the distance traveling north. The view was the #1 reason we chose this unit, and it sure paid off. Communication with Lou before, during, and after our stay was always fast. We never had an issue so we didn't have to contact the local manager. The condo was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. We didn't interact much with the resort staff, but they were great every time we did stop by. There were only 3 of us, but the 2 br, 2 ba unit has 2 queen beds, 1 twin bed, and a pull out sofa. There's an elevator in the building, and since the unit is on the top floor, it was nice not having to lug our suitcases up the stairs. It's impossible to list all the great things about the Papakea resort and the unit specifically. Read all the reviews for much more comprehensive assessments. I just know we loved it all and that resulted in an unforgettable week. We look forward to our next stay at Lou and Patty's little slice of paradise.

Great location with an absolute beautiful view, right on the water.

Great sleeping arrangements and wonderful patio to enjoy the front row seats to the ocean and amazing sunsets. The complex and unit is a little dated, as most are in Hawaii, but was perfect for our family’s 10-day stay with everything that we needed in the unit. Complex comes with a decent pool area, tennis courts and large grass putting green that the children and I enjoyed. Convenient ABC store out front and a shopping centre and grocery store across the street. Complex has easy access to the unit via elevator and convenient parking out front. Would recommend this unit to friends and family.

Beautiful Ocean View

Picked this condo for the beautiful ocean view and it didn’t disappoint. Papakea itself is a beautiful complex with clean pools, beautiful landscaping, plentiful parking and great location. Appreciated Lou’s pre-trip communication and details and condo was comfortable. Photos and description of condo were entirely accurate. My son appreciated the large tv for World Series viewing (some units have really small tvs 😁). Mahalo for your hospitality Lou!

Hello To All -

Lou & I (Patty) have enjoyed raising our children with fun filled Papakea vacations. Now we are bringing our grandchildren. We are blessed. Papakea has a family friendly environment. Our unit, L-404, was totally renovated and remodeled a few years ago. The results were even better than we expected; it’s incredible. Come and share our home away from home. Since we are both retired now, we try to get over there as often as we can. We keep the calendar (link above) up-to-date. We have been there many times since Lou retired and enjoyed buying new curtains and doing the little detail fix-ups.
One of our many favorite parts of the day is to grab some pineapple or papaya with a slice of toast and sit out on the lanai as we ease into the day.
Our children also still enjoy Papakea, bringing their children and their friends.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

Location, Location, Location. After many visits to the Island and staying in many places, we chose Papakea because it is at just the right spot on the coast. Further north was too windy and further south was too hot. Papakea is just right. Being on the 4th floor we have a vaulted ceiling which makes the condo feel like the living room is part of the outdoors.

Nothing can beat the fantastic sunsets from our lanai. We look straight out to Molokai with Lanai a little off to the left. The front windows stay open the entire time we are there so that we can listen to the sound of the ocean coming to shore. We have solar curtain panels in the front room, so when the curtains are closed we can still see the ocean and have our privacy at the same time. We BBQ once or twice every visit and often times just stay in the ocean side cabana and eat our dinner there.
