This wonderful get-away in the Outer Banks is conveniently located just a short walk (300 feet) from the beach. It is in the heart of Kill Devil Hills (milepost 9) which is also the home of the Wright Brother's Monument. It is only a short drive from Jockey's Ridge and the Outlets, as well as walking distance from multiple restaurants, surf shops and quaint stores.

Barefootin' is a two level duplex . Each level has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms as well as a queen size sleeper sofa in the family room, fully equipped eat in kitchen and washer/dryer. It is equipped with a total of 6 televisions, three DVD players, DVD library, game system, games and puzzles. A gas grill, corn hole boards, outdoor table and chairs, beach chairs, baby pool and sand toys are also available for your convenience. An advantage of renting Barefootin' is that the units can easily accommodate two or more families. It is also one of the few homes that can be rented for less than a week (3 night minimum). Also, linens for the beds and towels are complimentary with the rental.(We do not provide beach towels, however.)

This is the ideal choice for 2-4 families vacationing together. It allows privacy but in close proximity to each other. The lower level has beautiful tile floors with throw rugs in each room for comfort. It is decorated with a 'beachy' flare. The den has a comfortable couch (pull out queen sofa sleeper) and loveseat with a large television with DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a table that seats 6 and everything you should need including a coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender and microwave. The master bedroom is very large with a king size bed, plenty of room for a pack n play, television and private bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third has a pyramid bunk bed (twin on top & full on bottom bunk ) with a television. Outside there is a nice patio to enjoy the ocean breezes on. In the rear of the house there are tables and chairs on both levels, an outdoor shower, corn hole boards, colorful chairs on the front deck as well as a swing on the front of the house!

The upper level has carpet in the bedrooms only.. It has a roomy den with two sofas (one is a queen sleeper sofa), a flat screen television set, DVD player and game system. The den opens into a fully equipped kitchen including coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender, microwave and a large table that seats 8-10 people comfortably. The master bedroom has a king size bed, room for a pack n play, television, dvd player and a private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a TV and the third bedroom has a pyramid bunk bed (twin on top & full on bottom bunk). There are balconies on the front as well as the back with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy.

Barefootin' is a reasonably priced convenient getaway!!

This was a great rental. Best price relative to other airbnbs and hotels, the location speaks for itself, itā€™s walking distance to the beach and even this spots location in the greater OBX is perfect. Thereā€™a a really good Italian spot next door along with many other food and entertainment spots close by. The house had everything we needed and was clean when we got to there. They do require quite a bit of cleaning after your stay but to be honest itā€™s not that bad and is pretty normal if youā€™ve rented airbnbs before. I would highly recommend if youā€™re looking for a nice place to stay in OBX!

Great place and location

We booked a short stay at this property for an opportunity to connect with family. We are familiar with the area but this location made our visit great. It is less than a block from the beach and there are several fun restaurants in walking distance. That made it easy to enjoy the time with 4 grandchildren and not spend too much time in the car. The rental was very clean, inviting, and thoughtfully furnished. We enjoyed our time there. Great porch with a nice view. The owner was quick to respond to a few minor details and questions. We hope to visit again sometime, perhaps for a longer timeframe. Highly recommend.

Great spot for a family vacation!

WOULD GIVE 4.5 STARS IF I COULD Overall, a great place to stay! We rented both units for a large family vacation and it worked out great. The location is excellent! Itā€™s across the street from the beach and right around local restaurants, shops and everything you need. We comfortably fit 4 large family vehicles in the driveway which was nice. Raffaella was an excellent host and very accommodating and friendly. One big pro for us is that it was very kid friendly. Bunk beds, toys/games available, and the outdoor shower was a life saver coming back from the beach with little kids. It was also nice that beach chairs were available and some kid friendly beach items. The beach access right across the street is right by the life guard stand which was an extra plus since we had 7 kids with us. A couple of things we wish were a little better... 1. Cleanliness. It was decent but there were multiple dead bugs found, dirt/sand and items found in drawers from previous renters. 2. Clean up. Before leaving you have to sweep the floors, wash the towels, clean the dishes and put them away and put all the trash by the road. This seems a bit excessive when a cleaning lady is coming after. Would definitely stay again for another family vacation! Thank you for having us!

Excellent Property

This house was exactly as described. Location was excellent. In a quiet location and beach access just across the street. Communication with the owners was excellent. Although we didnā€™t need to contact them during our stay as all was. This is perfect property for two families. The upper and lower units were completely separate with their own kitchen and amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall, it was a nice property. Sadly, the home was not checked before we checked in and it was FULL of dead flies. The only saving grace, was that the host gave me a quick response and had cleaners out there within the hour. We know it was some sort of strange occurrence, but if the house had had a walk through the day before, it could have been addressed prior to our arrival. šŸ˜”

Amazing Stay

This was one of my favorite vacations. The host is very responsive and the house was beautiful. The short walk to the beach was so nice and I felt very safe. There is also a little restaurant/bar on the direct corner thatā€™s very nice and my son said the fish tacos were the best heā€™s ever had. I highly recommend this house for your stay.

Week Stay with Young Kids

Rooms were nice and clean, the bunk bed room had space for a pack and play for our one year old to sleep in so that was a big plus. The closest public beach access is really close but only stairs for beach access, so be ready to carry any beach wagons. Luckily the other beach accesses up the road both are both stairs and walkouts. Definitely looking forward to staying here again in the future.

In the heart of it all

Overall our large blended family had a great time staying here. It accommodated us all quite nicely and despite hurricane Debbie trying to dampen our spirits, we made the most of our time due to everything being so close (walkable and driveable). The beach was right across the street which was a huge win and we spent as much time as possible there during the day soaking up what sun we could and at night checking for ghost crabs and sea turtles. We enjoyed some family card nights and game time around the upstairs kitchen table and the kids enjoyed putting puzzles together. The beds were all very comfortable and allowed for some rejuvenating for the next day. The few little hiccups we had were quickly addressed and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and helpful.

Family Reunion Perfection

We had so much fun. The property was perfect for our large group. We rented both floors, but we were able to have meals together and hang out in the house and on the deck together. Because the beach is just a very short walk, we could hang out there all day and if someone needed to go back to the house they could. It was perfection.

Weekend Stay with Multiple Families

This property worked perfect for us, it gave each family their own privacy with multiple bedrooms but also plenty of space inside and out to come together. Very clean with plenty of included amenities. Homeowner was very responsive and accommodating!

Great Place & Close to the Beach

This was a great place to stay. As noted, there are 2 units, one is upstairs, the other downstairs. We came with two families and it was perfect. We had plenty of showers for everyone. The kids (ages 6-13) loved the selection of board games. We loved how close it is to the beach. We were able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and the post office without a problem. I recommend staying here if you want to be close to everything, including the beach.

The property was fairly clean. My husband fixed the dish washer that was leaking and vacuumed the air filter that was caked with dirt.(I know had we called the owner he would have been on top of it) Overall it was a great place to stay! Everything was walking distance and the beach was awesome! It was great having a yard for the kids to play in. We really had a great time.

Close to beach

We had a great experience and time in OBX. Easy check in and out! Everything was nice, most kitchen appliances you need was on hand. There was some bugs, we had a few in a group that wasnā€™t pleased with that, but I did contact the owner and they said they would send someone out. We didnā€™t understand that the top floor did not connect but it worked out. Over all a great time and everyone loved the corn hole game
