Modern 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath mountain retreat with beautiful scenic views in a peaceful and relaxing location. Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire property during their stay, the home is completely private and not shared with anyone else. This townhouse-style home features its own independent driveway, private entrance, and dedicated amenities, providing comfort, convenience, and privacy for you and your companions.

The property includes all basic amenities, two dedicated parking spaces, and a private setting located at a comfortable distance from the owner’s residence. The owner is available to assist you during your stay if needed. The home features 2 queen beds and 1 sofa bed, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests.

Experience the warmth and charm of Barranquitas, with friendly locals and a variety of nearby attractions. Within a short drive you’ll find a CrossFit gym (third-party, not included), a scenic café and bakery with beautiful views, the historic town center, and many other local spots to explore.

For your safety, we recommend extra caution when driving at night, as rural mountain roads may be narrower and have limited lighting near the property. During daytime, navigation is straightforward and easy to adjust to.

This is a self check-in property. We are located approximately one hour from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and the nearest beach. A rental car is strongly recommended, as public transportation is limited. Ride-sharing services may be one-way and taxi availability is limited.

House was clean and spacy. Lots of sunlight and breeze.
At 2,000 ft above sea level: moon, clouds, cool breeze and the singing of the coquíes. I couldn’t have turned the ac on, but I refused to do it.

We got in at 3 am and had trouble finding it and getting the lock box open. Too tired - this was our fault. Pull the lock box out, don't push in down. GPS did put the pin correct, but we kept passing the home - it's on the left as you go through the gate and there's a little parking spot right in front. We kept driving past it, probably because it was dark - there is a home at the end of the drive that confused us. The view is gorgeous and the patio has a nice seating area and a walkway. I personally loved the roosters, but if you are sensitive to noise bring earplugs because they crow all night - these guys don't just wake you with the sunrise. We had every amenity we needed and I would love to return.

Great country setting. It was quiet and a great get a way from the city. About 15 minutes from the town center. Awesome view. The place was clean, and comfortable for 4 to 6 people. Has a nice balcony area with grill to enjoy with your friends and family. The host was helpful when I needed information. Great experience.

Nostalgia

This was by far the best most calming experience I have had since I started going on vacations. The ride up is not for the faint of heart since it’s legit in the mountains.. but OMG I would drive this road everyday for the feeling I had while staying here! Can’t wait to utilize the property again on my next trip to Puerto Rico!

Lovely stay ❤️

The view was amazing. Enjoyed the two balconies, you can see the sunrise. 🌅 You can hear the Coquis at night. The space was very clean and accommodated 6 of us for 5 nights. The drive is a little tricky at first, but was fun. Anibal was communicative and very nice. We definitely recommend

My experience

The owner was very easy to reach and talk to. Until you get used to the drive it’s best to arrive before dark as the roads can be challenging. It’s ideal for travelers who want to experience the local people their life style and language. The accommodations were adequate considering the low cost for renting.

Wonderful stay with breathtaking views

My friend and I had an incredible stay here! The place was clean and comfortable, beautiful location and safe neighborhood. Communication with Anibal was great, he was very quick to respond and give recommendations. We had an issue with the key when we arrived and Anibal sent over his brother within minutes to help us. He had all the kitchen and bathroom essentials (more than most other airbnbs). I think the only things I would add are a hairdryer, bottle of oil for cooking and extra blankets. WiFi was great too. Waking up to the view looking down the mountain was beautiful and falling asleep to the sound of the coqui frogs is something I will cherish forever. It was also very nice to eat outside on the patio. It’s a huge place, I like that the two rooms are separate from each other so you have privacy. A fair warning, I thought the other reviews were being dramatic when they said the road to get there was not for the faint of heart, however after driving there I get what they mean. There are lots of blind hills and corners so it’s difficult to see oncoming cars and locals drive fast. Just drive cautiously and stay alert and you’ll be fine.

Nice Home

This is a nice little home that was clean and had everything one would need for their stay. It also had a great view from the balconies. The owner Anibel was very good with communication and sent us a bunch of recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area which was very appreciated. Sadly we decided to not stay after arriving and ended up returning to the previous place we had booked as we liked it so much. There were a few reasons for this and none of them have to do with the condition of the house as it was very clean and well kept. The biggest issue was the location as it took forever to find as the GPS kept taking us to different areas. That combined with the roads to the house and the fact that it was raining pretty hard made for a not so great initial experience. We live in Colorado so Im very used to mountain roads but I really didn’t want to drive these roads in the rain at night, especially without an AWD vehicle. The other issue was that my wife is originally from Honduras and she kept saying she felt like she was in her neighborhood back in Honduras. There was a kid doing wheelies down the street on his motorcycle the entire time we were there. Kids running around, dogs and cats coming t say hello, etc Overall this is a nice little home and is priced very well for the space, view, etc but just wasn’t the peaceful experience we were looking for. The location is pretty cool and although it didn’t bother me driving if you don’t like steep and narrow roads you may want to think twice.

We appreciate choosing us. It will be worth noting that in this case the guests were originally staying in the West side of the Island (beach town) and took the mountain route to get to the house, although the roads are paved still could be challenging for some drivers, as there are hills. However, anyone coming from San Juan airport will find a more pleasant drive to this country house. If coming from other parts of the island will suggest to use highways (although a little longer in the GPS) but drive will be much easier. Best Regards! Aníbal

Far from everything

We literally checked in, cleaned out the coffee pot, made a fresh pot, and got to work looking for another place to stay. Do NOT attempt to stay here if you have difficulty driving up and down extremely steep hills with 1.5 lane width. Paved? yes. Difficulty level? 7/10. Had to turn the AC off to make it up a couple of them. There was no way possible we would have been able to go to the biobay night tour and navigate those roads at night! Especially if we got any kind of rain fall since we rented a toyota, not a jeep. We stayed a little closer to sea level in Coamo instead. Definitely not much in the neighborhood. The unit would be good enough for 2 people. The couches would have been horribly uncomfortable for my daughters! Host was nice and helpful. It was not very clean, someone left a full pot of coffee...idk how old. Mini fridge. Huge bedroom and bathroom and the rest is tiny. Huge props to the photographer! Those photos made it look so much bigger but the main area is the size of a galley kitchen. Construction in progress below the balcony. Just frustrated that we had to pay several hundred for 4 days of unusable rental! Of course I was not offered any kind of a refund but that's why I am making it more transparent for anyone else who might stay there. Host could have offered partial refund regardless of what "policy" states...they are the ones getting paid after all. It was a horrible feeling and my family was very disappointed except for the cats

As soon as guests confirmed their reservation, we specifically reaffirm our locations so they can plan in advance their stay and map their outdoors activities, contrary to note here, guests departed as soon as they arrived and left house without following VRBO policy for cancellation, that kept house blocked in the app, so we cannot rent to anyone else, hence the issue for being unable to provide any refunds as their reservation remain active and we need to make the house available to them. In cases like, guests must request cancellation from VRBO and state their reasoning. As for the property descriptions these are accurate and moreover we have added an additional second room, half bathroom, and new terrace that have increase house size significantly.
