Aloha, MAUI IS OPEN for tourists to visit!! The devastating wildfires in Lahaina are incredibly sad, but your condo is far away from them, and on the other side of the mountains.

The Eastern side of Maui has hundreds of things to do, visit and see, without ever venturing to the Lahaina side of the island. The people of Maui NEED you to visit their Island, in order to recover financially from the fires. Mahalo, Joe

E Komo Mai, (Welcome) to your Maui vacation holiday condominium. We strive to provide you with a beautiful 'home away from home', where you can do as much, or as little as you want during your stay, with all of the amenities you expect.

PLEASE NOTE: Your condo is professionally cleaned AND sanitized after each guest check-out. For your convenience and safety, we provide hand soap at each sink and extra cleaning emphasis is applied to high touch surfaces; like A/C thermostats, remote controls, telephones and appliance/door handles! Your safety during your stay is our priority!

Watch the sunrise over Haleakala (10,043' dormant volcano) across the bay from your private lanai. You can swim in the solar heated fresh water pool or hot tub while working on your tan. Stroll along romantic Sugar Beach nearby, or watch whales play (In season) from your 4th floor treetop lanai. You can prepare your meals on the gas BBQ grill, then dine on your private lanai as you watch the moon rise over Haleakala as it shimmers on Ma'alaea Bay below.

After a long day on Maui, fall asleep to the gentle sound of surf lapping on the shoreline below, as the smell of plumeria and ginger blossoms waft through your room on the gentle Maui breezes. Yes, you ARE in paradise! We hope you choose to stay with us and have many fond memories of your Maui holiday. Karen and I look forward to hearing from you.

Great hosts and location

Our family enjoyed our stay and the hosts were great and very good with answering any questions we had leading up to the trip. The location is great, beautiful view every morning and we were far from any of the places we wanted to go.

Wonderful getaway spot

We watched turtles from the balcony and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We were walking distance from restaurants and the beach. Great central location in Maui!

Very comfortable 2 bedroom unit. Great whale watching from the 4th floor and turtles too along the shore. Walking the beautiful 3 mile sandy beach to Kihei is an absolute pleasure.

Great Maui condo

This was a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and had everything we needed. Nice peaceful little area of the island with easy access to the rest of the island. So amazing to be able to watch all the sea turtles from the lanai!! Thanks again Joe for the wonderful stay and all the amazing recommendations!!

Maui Fantastic!!!!

The Little Grass Shack was everything that you could ask for in a vacation home away from home. It is beautifully decorated, awesome view, well equipped to meet most any need, access to the beautiful Sugar Beach, I could go on and on. We loved our visit and are looking forward to our next stay in the Little Grass Shack! Mahalo!

Beautiful, we didn't want to leave

The place was super clean, and the property sits right on the ocean. It was truly a beautiful place. I can't say enough about the Owners. They were extremely responsive and when ever we had questions I messaged them and they got back instantly. I would love to stay here again in the future!

Relaxed, well equipped, beautiful ocean view

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It was relaxed and low key, away from touristy hustle and bustle, clean and well equipped. The sound of the ocean really added to the relaxation factor. My two grown kids had their own spaces in the loft and the beach just down the road was great for swimming, snorkeling and turtle watching. The owners' website provided all necessary information and lots of links to fun activities to do while there. Great Job! Catherine, Seattle

Memories Made!

Condo was very nice and had everything we needed and then some. Beautiful view of the pool and ocean from our balcony. Sea turtles came in every afternoon to keep us entertained. Joe provided us with very thorough information on tours and activities. Beds were very comfortable. Having the extra loft space with twin beds was perfect! Would highly recommend this condo and the owners Joe and Karen Dorsey.

Our family enjoyed our stay in Maui so much that we're already dreaming about our next trip back. There are so many great things to do and see. After a long day of sightseeing, snorkelling, walking, shopping, or driving, the condo was like a home away from home. The views from the lanai are wonderful, and the other visitors we encountered down at the barbecue were very friendly. Thank you, Joe, for your hospitality and kindness. We will be back!

Perfection

Everything about this property and experience was perfect. It all went so seamlessly. Joe is so great to work with and beyond helpful and accommodating. Loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect size, homey, great location, beautiful views. If I was to go back to Maui again I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Joe! Also the property manager on site was so kind and helpful. We had daily chats with him to get tips and pointers from a local.

Wonderful relaxing stay in Maui

Joe’s property was exactly as described and was the perfect central location for our family of 3. Our 9 year old son loved the boogie board and had a great time catching the kid friendly waves at Kamaole Beach Park 3. The cooler held our picnic dinner that we enjoyed while watching the sunset at the Haleakala summit. My most favorite thing though was to watch the dozens of turtles who would feed on the rocks in front of the condo. We saw more turtles from the lanai and beach in front of the condo than at the Maui Ocean Center! We would definitely stay here again.

The condo was perfect for our three generations get away in April.A TV for each of us when the long day was over. The location of the condo couldn't be better. You can tour the whole Island with the least amount of travel per day from this spot. Don't miss the Pacific Whale Foundation snorkle cruise. It is within walking distance from the condo. We saw whales , dolphins and sea turtles.The only thing negative was having to leave.

Amazing condo

We have stayed at a different property at Maalaea Banyans before and love the location, but really wanted to stay in a little larger of a condo to not feel like we were tripping over one another all the time. Even though it was just two of us, it was so nice to have plenty of room to spread out. The condo is spacious, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the views from the lanai were amazing. There is no going back to a tiny condo after this, since the price was right and the space was amazing. We will definitely be booking with Joe next time we are headed to Maui.

Great Condo

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The condo is great for family’s. I and my husband and adult daughter stayed. The condo has everything you could want in the kitchen all cooking utensils you would need along with a variety of spices. It is within walking distance to a couple of restaurants and a bar for happy hour. It is located close to Kihei for grocery stores and Lanai for shopping and dining. The washer and dryer were a huge plus as we were able to pack lighter. Joe was great in reply in a couple of questions we had. We would absolutely stay again and hope to return to the island next year.

Family of six on our dream vacation!! Joe is very helpful and prompt to answer any questions or respond to issues we had during our vacation stay. Provided us with detailed information about Maui. Unfortunately the dryer stopped working, but Joe was helpful to provide extra towels. We loved sitting on the lanai watching the whales, enjoyed the pool and hot tub and were fortunate to see green sea turtles arrive on the small beach in the evening. Would recommend a deep cleaning of the unit. We love the Ma’alaea area central to everything! Mahalo Joe

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very quiet, relaxing and beautiful setting

Joe was very responsive and helpful. He offered many suggestions of activities and was flexible when we had to change the check out dates. It was obvious that Joe and Karen love their condo and made an effort to make it accommodating for families. We had everything we needed during our two week stay. Our group included two couples (one with a 1 yr old) and an 84 year old. Great Grandma was able to make it up the stairs thanks to the sturdy handrail. A note regarding the bedroom configuration for future guests... we didn’t realize that the loft “bedrooms” did not offer true privacy for any of us. The twin bedroom is open to the master bedroom below. The upstairs bathroom was only accessible going through the queen loft bedroom, which is open to the living room below. In addition, there is one step between the bathroom and the twin bedroom. It may be more suited to a family with young children. Overall we were very happy with our stay, the location, amenities and accommodation. Thank you very much!

We stayed at Joe and Karen's condo 8/24-9/2 with our daughter and four grandchildren (1.5-16 years). We had the time of our lives! The condo was comfy and centrally located to everything. With the exception of the road to Hana, we never drove more than 30 minutes to any of our destinations, which were many. We highly recommend the PWF eco tour to Molokini and Turtle Town for snorkeling, leaves right from Maalaea harbor. Also enjoyed snorkeling on our own at Makena Landing, around the point. Some in our group were lucky enough to swim with an ancient honu. The Royal Lahaina Luau was just perfect for what we were looking for with the grandkids. The price was right, the food was excellent and the kids loved the upbeat Hawaiian show (so did I). My husband and I have been to a couple of other luaus which were more authentic, but this was perfect for the kids and actually exceeded my expectations, given the reviews I read prior to our trip. We had fun. Joe, thank you for all of the information and assistance you provided me over the past 6 months. It was fun to see the pictures of you and Karen up the stairway at the condo. Nice people! When we were walking out the door to leave on Tuesday morning, we all felt sad to leave our home away from home. We will surely return. Patti Guynes and family from Oregon.

Everything we hoped it would be!

Our stay was only 5 nights but what a great choice it turned out to be! Joe Dorsey was our guide, advisor and mentor on all things "Aloha". Thank you so much for your prompt replies to my numerous emails. The suite was all we hoped for...ocean views from the lanai and great sunrises while enjoying our breakfast. We could literally hear our two grandchildren's breath taken away when we first opened the lanai when we arrived. The small pool and hot tub were a welcome place to kick back after a long day relaxing on Maui. The nearby snorkeling beach was a huge bonus since many other prime snorkeling beaches had little or no parking within the same timezone. Some of us saw turtles face to face while snorkeling which was most memorable. One day, we practically walked all the way to Sugar Beach along the beach from Haycraft Park. We walked to town a lot for meals or shopping. In Maalaea, we are within a day trip to almost anywhere we want to go. We never got the pleasure of meeting Officer Roberts but we smiled a bit whenever we saw a motorcycle cop. We enjoyed the residents and the other tourists that we met at the Maalaea Banyans condos. It's a very friendly building. Since we already live in a condo, it felt quite homey...except for the weather, scenery and, okay, almost everything. Great location. Property okay.

Location is phenomenal. We saw whales and turtles every day with our morning coffee. The owner communicates well. Overall we are pretty happy. Pros: Location - Central to just about anywhere you would want to go. Short walk to boat harbor. View - Ocean, volcano, turtles, whales, New Years Fireworks! Cons: Care - Stairs dirty, toilet paper roll center pin missing, 2 burnt out lights, junk in drawers, master closet full of stuff, one hair dryer didn’t work, knives dull, second floor smoke detector bad, one couch chair is in rough shape. Space Layout - The pictures are accurate but I didn’t realize none of the bedrooms are private. The master bedroom is open to the loft bedroom above. The other loft bedroom is open to the living room. The kids slept right above the master bedroom so if we went to bed later we had to use phone flashlights to get ready for bed. Kitchen - There are no pots, only pans. Other than this everything you need was there. Storage space was the biggest issue. All the cabinets are full. There is absolutely no place to put all your groceries. We had to put groceries under the couch and on random book shelves. Property Rules - This is nothing the owner could control but some of the overall property rules were lame. No noise at the pool. Limited hours at pool. Could not sit in chairs by ocean after 9pm. Overall, not a bad place for a family of 3 plus kids. Location is the best there is.

Karen and I love visiting Hawaii. I asked her to marry me during one trip to Maui, when we were on the summit of Haleakala (10,043'). (Which can be seen from our 4th floor, treetop private lanai) We were married a year later on Maui, by a remote waterfall which is only accessible by helicopter. As you can tell, Maui is very special to us and we look forward to sharing our home with you!

Ma'alaea (Mah-ah-lie-yah) is a secluded, private little village off the beaten path to Lahaina. Not many people know the town even exists and that is why we like it. It is centrally located to just about everything fun to do on Maui, but when you return back to your 'Little grass shack', you seem to be miles away from everything and can relax and take time to smell the plumerias!!!

Every year the Humpback whales return to Ma'alaea Bay to birth their calves. From your treetop private lanai, you can watch as they jump a play a few hundred yards right offshore. It is really very majestic to watch! Also, the moon-rise over Haleakala is very romantic and beautiful to see! It does not get much better than this on Maui!!!
