Need a home on your vacation? Look no further than Gold Camp Lodge in Gilded Mountain Recreational Development. A perfect location 8 miles outside of Deadwood and 20 miles from Strugis on all paved roads and very close to the Mickelson trail where you can jump on the snowmobile and ATV trails - there's extra parking for Trailers too! In minutes you can be skiing on Terry Peak, or lounging at one of the local restaurants in the area. When you get back from enjoying the local scenery, you can come back to a relaxing hot tub and fireplace to enjoy with your comrades.

This beautiful custom-built Cabin has 3-Levels, 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms - perfect for those looking for some room to spread out, but still gather in the family room. It boasts an open kitchen/great room with gas fireplace, and flat screen TV with cable. There's a walk-out to the deck area from this great room to a covered private deck with gas grill and deck seating with a view. This main floor includes one bedroom with a queen bed and one bathroom. The loft includes a bedroom with a queen sized bed and half bath. The lower level of the home has a family room with a large sectional sofa, electric fireplace, flat screen TV with DVD, and access to the covered patio with secluded hot tub. There are also two bedrooms on the lower level - one with a queen bed, and the other with 2 full sized beds (as a bunk bed). The lower level also has it's own bathroom. Don't forget about the central A/C you'll enjoy on those warm summer days and a washer/dryer to clean off all your clothes from your days on the trails.

Best of all, you get access to the Gilded Mountain Clubhouse where you'll have access to many amenities including a heated swimming pool, living room with wet bar and fireplace, Large Screen TV, treadmill, sauna, pool table, two more hot tubs, and a larger room for family gatherings. You're family will love spending time at the clubhouse!

The house was decorated for Christmas which gave it a extra touch. The club house was fun to use with the games and we didn't use the heated pool but saw other families enjoying it. Week Vacation

The cabin was perfect for our getaway with the family. Plenty of room and the view was beautiful! It was a great location for a home base for our Black Hills vacation. Loved that there was access to the pool for our daughter. Enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. We would definitely stay here again!

We’ll be back

Went on a sister and kids trip. Had no reason to really leave the cabin because it was so cozy. The main lodge area was under construction which was a bummer but we were able to still use the pool that was plenty warm even for mid-May in hills! The views were gorgeous and we’ll definitely be back

Great Experience for Family in South Dakota

Skiing, Mount Rushmore, Custer Park, Sylvan Lake, Mining Museum in Lead panning for gold (grandchildren loved it), The "black matter" in the other Lead Mining Museum, The heated pool and hot tubs at the Clubhouse, Newcastle, Deadwood... So much to do. Great memories made for the family. Thank you.

Cozy house

Great home with plenty of space! The hot tub is great and the view out the back decks are fantastic. Houses are extremely close, even if the neighbors are not trying to be noisy you will hear everything. House was very cozy but the patio furniture is a bit dirty and warn, not quite an inviting space but the hot tub made up for it!

Weekend Stay

Overall the property was wonderful. Although, for all the parents of young children-- I would recommend either bringing your own tableware/cups or suggest that the property owner provide more kid friendly tableware/drinking classes as glass is not appropriate for them and that is all that was available. It was a great stay thought, and the other families that stayed with us even commented on how clean the house was.

We ran the Deadwood Half Marathon so the hot tub was relaxing and peaceful after the race - just what we needed. We would love to come back again!

The Perfect morning view!

We were able to park a truck/trailer with toys easily which isn't the case at all the Gilded properties. The view from the decks was amazing! We enjoyed beginning and ending each day with coffee on one deck and hot tubbing on the other. My only suggestion is to get a new toaster. :)

The hot tub was great to help unwind for long days in the go and the community pool was great for the kids. We had some issues getting connected to the internet, not everyone could connect. We also had issues getting more than 10 channels in the tv and the DVD player was not connected. Those are secondary to the house itself, the views of the Black Hills and the location in general. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Spacious

Place was very pretty and super spacious! The view from the deck was amazing. The hot tub did have a bunch of specks of something in it. Not sure if it was flaking off the bottom or from the hot tub cover, but it was kind of gross. But still loved sitting in it and enjoying the view! Another thing, I have stayed at a handful of places and had never had to sign an agreement before so that was new but they sent it to me electronically at the last minute which made it easier. Also the ice melt by the door was completely empty so I wish we would have had some extra cause at the end of the entry way it was very icy and slick so we had to be extra careful especially when unloading and loading. All in all it was very nice and I would stay again.

Perfect home away from home!

Gold Camp was close to attractions (few min to Deadwood and about an hour to Keystone/Mt.Rushmore) and perfect size for our group. Our kids loved the hot tub and it was a perfect way to end our busy days. The cabin had all amenities we needed and offered a lot of space for our family to get their space when needed. My only critique would be of the community pool. The times we tried to use it they were cleaning or had issues with the coloring, so we were not able to swim. Not a big deal, just was my only critique and not the owners fault. Budi was always responsive to any question and we really enjoyed our time at Gold Camp.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice place but mattresses on beds are mediocre. Bedding is comfortable. The bunk beds are not very sturdy. Ok for kids but not great for adults. No instruction on how to work the TVs. We could not figure it out. We could have contacted manager and sure it would have been resolved but due to unforseen event we were only there to sleep. Just would be nice to have clear instructions to make it easy. The place is very clean and comfortable. Hot tub was great (Did get to use it first night). Had everything we needed in kitchen, except coffee (we forgot to bring). Would be a nice perk to have just a couple coffee packs there. No batteries in remote in main floor bedroom. Overall, the place is nice, with nice hot tub, great wooded view, close to Deadwood and Terry Peak, but I like to have a high quality bed whe. I pay this much so will try another place next time.
