Secluded Spacious NY Getaway, 1 hour from NYC

65 mins from NYC, the 5,500 sq ft house sits on a private cul-de-sac on 5.5 quiet acres. Includes chef's kitchen, outdoor 50 x 20' pool, WiFi, sauna, pool table, air hockey table, theater room & laundry room. Cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors. Minutes to Woodbury Common, Renaissance Faire, Sugar Loaf, Storm King, and LEGOland.

-First floor has a mudroom/laundry room, chef's kitchen (seating for 4 at the counter, and additional seating for 8-10 at the kitchen table), 48" gas stove, Dacor coffee machine, 60" refrigerator. The dining room seats 10-12. The formal living room (easily seats 10) with vaulted ceilings and decorative fireplace with candles. There is a wet bar off of this living room for entertaining. There is an additional living room with more seating (2 chairs, a double recliner and a sofa). The TV room has a couch which seats 8 with a pullout bed. When this room is used as the 6th bedroom the adjoining full bath can be closed off for privacy.

-Second floor has Library room and 3 bedrooms:
Master bedroom with 1 king bed, full bathroom with Jacuzzi
Bedroom # 2 has a King bed and a full bathroom
Bedroom # 3 has Queen bed with an adjoining full bathroom which can be private or shared with the Library
Bedroom #4 Queen bed in the library.

-Basement with a Theater room featuring a projection TV streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and an XBOX 360 with 2 couched with reclining seats. in the back of the room is a game area with many board games.
Bedroom #5 with a Queen bed and an adjoining full bathroom with Sauna.

*2 Queen size air mattresses are available upon request.
3 Car Garage (fits 2 cars) and a parking pad for 9 cars.

Summer & event rentals are a 3 night minimum.
All other rentals are a 2 night minimum.

The house exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms were spacious, the supply of linen was more than needed. The family rooms - 3 of them - were just what a crowd of 15 needed. Bilards, air hockeey and a lovely pool topped off our stay. You can't go wron with booking this place!

Pictures didn't tell the real story.

Not what we expected for the price.It was large enough for our family of 14. The pool was great and a big hit. And, the downstairs games were nice to have too, except for the X-Box game that didn't work.However, the cleaning done at the property before our arrival was subpar. The plugged garbage disposal, the overflowing outside garbage containers, the dirty gas grill, the damaged air mattresses and the noisy oven fan just to name a few flaws, left us very disappointed considering the amount we rented the property for.

Family Weekend

The size and the different bedrooms were fine for our family . I was somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitchen. I had to wipe down the inside of the refrigerator, the inside of both ovens were extremely dirty and the wand on the expresso machine was covered with dried up milk . The front of the sink was missing a wooden panel therefore the sink side was exposed. The home advertised a theater however the receiver was not working properly. The Xbox also had to be updated therefore the kids could not use it. The trampoline outside was a nice feature however it was filled with leaves and we had to clean it out for the kids. If this items are addressed then the house would have worked out really well.

The house was what was described online. Plenty of space to spread out. It has a basement game room for anyone that wants to get away from the rest of the family.

Wonderful House

We came for our annual weekend getaway and found the house clean and beautiful. We were very impressed with the size and layout and of course the pool! Did a couple of daytrips and relaxed in the movie room at night. I would definitely recommend this beautiful property.

Summer Trip

House was amazing! There was no problems at all honestly. Enormous house with so many amenities. The house was already stocked with basic needs and cleaning supplies that other places I have rented did not have which was a huge plus. Pool was amazing we utilized the pool a lot throughout our stay and everyone loved it! Highly recommend and in a great area for all ages.

Very disappointing experience

We arrived and there was a sewer backup on the top floor bathroom, with a toilet clogged, and towels around the sink, that showed the owner know about this from before. The Pool (not heated) was in a ugly condition, full of leaves, and all type of Bugs, from small cockroaches to big caterpillar, and many more. i tried to clean it my self for an hour, just to be able to swim, and i couldn't clean it. and than the kitchen got a big leak from the top floor, and we had to lave as it wasn't a vacation any more. I tried to call the owner and text him with No response, only vie the vrbo website, but i had enough by that point and left after 1 day staying on the property.

Pretty Good

The house was nice and large. However, some of the furniture (ie:couch in tv room) is very uncomfortable, and the basement had an odd musty odor. The size/layout of the kitchen was great-loved the big island. The cabinets seem to need some adjustments. The overall layout is nice with many rooms to use. But the acoustics are loud because of the openness. Should be fine for all adults. With teens was a bit noisy at night. Overall fine for a short stay and met our purposes, but was not as elegant as it appeared in the photos.

Wedding weekend - Rehearsal Dinner

I will start with all the great things about our stay. First, the host was/is amazing! They worked with us and were very accommodating making our experience great. The only thing they asked of us was do not park on the grass - which is totally understandable. I had sent them a text message early (6AM) one morning and they responded very quickly. They made sure we had their contact number and told us if we needed anything to contact them.... then left us alone to enjoy our visit. Which I am thankful for ! The kitchen in the house is to die for !!! We used every bit of the 60" fridge and the double gas oven. I think I had 6 large cookie trays going at one time when we were preparing dinner. My family went through tons of coffee as they enjoyed the different types of coffee that the built-in machine made. The kitchen was a definite "hanging out area". The counter was big enough that we could stand around and talk with out being crowded. We had a lot of people - the max - and we did not feel we were on top of each other. Even with all the people there were plenty of towels, sheets, pillows, blankets etc.... The location of the house is great. We were just 10 mins to the grocery store (which we made that trip a number of times). A variety of restaurants and gas stations were also very close. During our stay we hosted a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. The house was easy to decorate and large enough to accommodate all 40 of our guests. We had plenty of room to set up food lines and tables and chairs for people to sit at. Close by was a party rental shop that delivered and picked up the food warmers, tables and chairs for a reasonable rate. I did not get down to the basement much but some of our quests did make use of the steam room and loved it. Now for the not so great. I felt that the house could have been cleaned better. There were a lot of marks on the walls and some of the baseboards were really dirty. I understand that it is a rental but maybe once in a while get a deep clean. The pool area could have been manicured - for example cutting of the weeds around the pool and general maintenance. The garage had a bunch of stuff just thrown around. The front porch could use a coat of paint as well. During our stay the extra refrigerator broke which caused us to lose a lot of food, the dishwasher broke and the beverage cooler was not really cold. In addition quite a few window cranks were broke. All in all I would stay here again

Horrible experience

I did not want to leave a review at first but the homeowner blamed my family for something we did not do and I want to make sure no other family gets to experience this. Obviously they have this house to make money and they dont take care of it! It is so filthy inside and out! In addition to the filth we were told in the middle of the night, on our first day, to take out other guests garbage cans down the road for pickup. My family is way too nice and did as were told. We cleaned the house, we treated it as if its our own. After our stay, the homeowner had the audacity to blame us for damage to a wood frame. It was already broken when we arrived, as many things were in the house. I was not aware that we had to document every crack. don't book this home! It is way overpriced for a motel experience.

West Point Graduation

A great location and home for family and friends to celebrate our daughter's graduation from West Point! Very spacious and private and the owners were very responsive to any question/inquiry we had. Home as described. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay there again!

Everything as advertised!

We rented this house for its kitchen and it more than met our expectations! It’s fairly close to West Point and provided an ideal place to provide our cadets with a home cooked meal and place to relax for a few hours.

Wonderful House

We picked this house a half way point for family coming from CT and NJ. The house was exactly as pictured on-line. The house was clean when we arrived and had all the amenities we needed. The lower level big screen TV was a huge hit for the adults. Kids had plenty of room to run around and play with toys. We had a great weekend here and will look to return in the future.

Amazing house, lots of room, we had family stay here during our wedding and it was PERFECT

We used this house as a place for our family to stay during our wedding weekend. We had people flying in from all over the world and they all stayed here together. There is a beautiful pool outside that's gated and safe for children and lots of seating in the multiple dining areas. The bathrooms are really large and the house itself is beautiful. The fridge is literally the biggest thing I've ever seen and was so convenient for us since we went to Costco. We sat on the porch and had coffee and really enjoyed watching the deer cross the driveway throughout the day. It's a very quiet area and super peaceful. I highly recommend staying here. Igal was very responsive when we had questions and very helpful. Before we even noticed the AC in the bedroom wasn't functioning properly, she had already called and sent someone over to fix it immediately. She was a great host.

Perfect location!

Loved the spaciousness of the House. Exactly as pictured and described. Beautiful countryside home with lots to do in the home. Extremely comfortable! Great communication with owner! Would highly recommend!

Many little things distracted from our overall enjoyment

First, the good. The owner was always responsive to our questions. The overall description is accurate - the house is spacious and secluded, and could easily suit your particular vacation requirements. There are many high tech amenities -f you know how to use them. The beds are new and comfortable, and the main towels large, soft and enjoyable. There are also many extra blankets and pillows and towels more suitable for the pool. And a house wren was nesting in the bird house - a fun little diversion. The negative. This 30-year old house is clearly showing its age. It seems likely that many of its issues predate the current owner, but the flaws are noticeable and many. The floors have suffered many scratches, yet the owner has removed all carpets wherever possible. This and the general lack of nonessential furniture and wall coverings leads to a cavernous, loud echoing, even with normal conversation levels. (One large room is empty except for a stack of folding chairs). Many small repairs are needed -- multiple window screens can't be used (and some are missing, including in the master BR), multiple electric outlets and wall switches are dead, and several of the showers don't function properly. Even some lights - and both provided nightlights - didn't work. The special built-in coffee maker (a la Starbucks) doesn't heat the water as much as it should. The remote control for the large basement TV/projector was missing - we never did find it or have an opportunity to check out this mega screen. Number of the sophisticated electronics are sorely in need of instruction manuals - lonely through the grace of a 30-something daughter did we manage to operate most functions on the main floor TV (we never did figure out if all commercial channels were available). There are three (3!!) separate AC controls - we had to stumble our way through a difficult to understand menu to turn them off (AC wasn't needed!). The previous renter apparently broke the trampoline - not an issue for us, but one more thing that needed fixing. Most of these flaws could be readily corrected with modest investments in repairs and a modicum of thought as to what else renters need to make for a pleasant carefree stay. Sadly, until that happens, I feel that this potential gem is overrated and overpriced.

Perfect Getaway for Large families

This home gives your whole family space, My teenage son was very disappointed we left and spent a couple days in the City. He much preferred the comfort of upstate and this home, especially the game room. For me this kitchen is a dream. My only criticism is a silly one. We like lamps by our bed and only the master has this. The heating system is different than we were use to so at first we were cold then way to warm. This was operator error and once we figured it out it was fine. We had three families staying her we are all related and travel well together but it never felt crowded.

Beautiful home! Perfect for any occasion

The pictures of this house do not even do it justice. This house is spacious, clean and awesome for any situation. We had my husband's 40th birthday celebration with our closest friends and every moment of it was amazing. We cooked delicious meals in the chefs kitchen, hung out in the cozy living room, played pool and air hockey. We even ventured out across the street for a long hike. You will not be disappointed!! We want to return in the summer with our kids....so much to do! Igal and Marina were a pleasure to deal with and very responsive with any question we had. PS- there was no mold issue as previously mentioned in another review.

Beautiful house and surrondings

Large house with everything you dream of for kids and parents and to share a WE with friends and family; Very convenient with beautiful views on the forest; Hiking in the area is great as well; We would just have appreciated to have our beds for 14 people ready and to not need to take off all the sheets before departure as the cleaning fee is quite expensive and time running fast for just one night rental.
