Elevated pool with views over Bay of Villefranche, poolside snack bar with laundrette, with adjoining tennis courts and secure car parking. 150 metres to sandy beach with a short stroll to seafront restaurants in the old town. Accessible by bus/train are the resorts of Nice and Cannes to the West with Monaco/Monte Carlo and Italy to the East. Villefranche is known as the 'Paradise of the French Riviera' where you can chill out watching cruise ships in the bay.

Excellent location

The apartment is in a great location, very well maintained. We had a great holiday the pool and views lovely. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely stay

Lovely little unit to stay in, in a wonderful area. Beach and buses very close and easy to get around. Lovely gardens and pool area, very quiet and relaxing. Local shops are a little bit of a walk, but you can get a bus if you have a bit of shopping to do. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

Lovely stay

Lovely flat- it is compact but has everything you need. Fantastic location- 1 minute to the beautiful pool, 5 minutes to beach and easy access to bus and train. Enjoyed the balcony which has a view of the garden with a glimpse of the sea beyond. Would agree with small request from another guest for better pillows! Bill is an extremely helpful and responsive host. Would love to come again.

Great location

We have stayed in this apartment many times and have always enjoyed our stay.The apartment is well located with easy access to buses or trains to Nice and Monaco and beyond.The apartment is small but very well equipped and comfortable.It is always a pleasure to deal with Bill the host.

Check-in could have gone more smoothly, but think that partly the problem was down to us checking-in at exactly 15.00h, due to us arriving at 9.30h on an early, early morning flight, but the cleaners had not quite finished, meaning that the keys were not waiting in the mailbox opposite reception as promised. Once we were in, all was good. Apartment was reasonably clean, though we gave the floor another going over with the vacuum cleaner and mop; think the cleaner needed another 30mins when we surprised her at 3.00pm! Apartment small for 4 adults, but functional and we all slotted in to a routine quickly. Spotless, powerful shower. Well-equipped kitchenette, with powerful 2-ring induction hob. Very comfortable beds. Several English-speaking TV channels and many French ones for practising our GCSE-level French! Bill was a very responsive host, who listened patiently to our trivial issues and rectified them very promptly (batteries for remote, extra toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, rubbish bags). Lovely balcony. Could benefit from a/c in this very hot time of year, but the Panama fans in lounge and master bedroom effective, sadly no room for one in 2nd bedroom, which had to make do with a stand-alone fan. Pool first-class, but beware cafe staff trying to charge you Eur 6 pp/day ‘for use of poolside sun beds’; we copped-on and used the free sun terrace loungers and just walked into the pool area to cool off with a swim! Excellent, secure carpark. All in all, great value stay! A

Wonderful stay

We spent lovely holidays in this nice little flat. It is equipped with everything you need. The fan helped a lot, because we had two very hot weeks. The location is clean and well situated. We enjoyed the pool, the friendly people and the close access to the sea. Bill is a very nice and caring host.

Relaxed break

This little flat is in a great location. We could easily walk to Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Villefranche and for two people it was a good size. The swimming pool and snack bar were a delight. Bill, the owner recommended a cab company for airport transfers and various restaurants. The flat was good value for money and we are thinking about returning.

Great Holiday

The accommodation was as described. The pool area was beautiful and well looked after. Lovely snack bar and friendly staff. Would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The area is quite hilly. Good bus stops directly outside the property.

Excellent location great pool!

We loved our stay here and communication with Bill throughout was excellent. It’s a great location for enjoying Villefranche sur mer as well as the many places nearby (Nice, Monaco, Menton) all easily reached by bus from the stops just a few minutes walk away. The pool area is fabulous and pool perfect temperature (there is a daily charge per sunbed €6 full day/ €3 half day). Our only very small request would be for better pillows, but that’s all! Thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely apartment 😊

Thank you for your lovely review & delighted you had a very enjoyable holiday. There is no charge for sunbeds on the sun terraces but during peak season only, the cafe owner charges for sunbeds at the poolside.

Paradise indeed!

Spent a week at Bill’s place and had a fantastic time. It’s really all about the location. Walking distance to Villefranche or Beaulieu (10 minutes) and St Jean Cap Ferrat (20 minutes). Pool area is really good with millionaire views (eg Villa Nellcote where the Stones recorded Exile On Main St is just to the right as you look towards the sea). Excellent communication with good tips about the area/restaurants, etc. . Bus 15 (Nice-St Jean) and 600 (Nice-Monaco/Menton) more or less on the doorstep. Good value for money. Air con would be good but otherwise a great spot!

Paradise in Villefranche-sur-mer

Host Bill was an excellent communicator and also provided plenty of details about the local area. The location is excellent - lovely 20 minute walk along the beach to the restaurants in villefranche-sur-mer. We also walked to get groceries in Beaulier-sur-mer. Bakery there is sensational. Most of all we enjoyed the pool and spent a lot of time there. You’d be hard pressed to find better value for accommodations in Villefranche-sur-mer.

Enjoyable week!

A small compact property but clean and well kept. We had hired a car which was great for exploring the area- lots to see. Nice pool and good communication with Bill. It would have been good to have another set of keys as one family member wanted to head off but a bit restricting with one set of keys . However overall would recommend !

Ange Gardien Apartment

We spent a great week here as a base to visit other coastal villages by bus and train - very easy- as well as walk to the beach here to swim and wander exploring the old town. Enjoyed our evening swim and drinks by the on site pool and excellent cafe. The apartment is tiny - which we were aware of as one of us has stayed here before - especially the room with a bunk bed - not suitable for adults. Although communication from Bill was excellent we did have some trouble accessing the building as we did not have mobile phone use. We would make sure we did next time.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review which is appreciated. We have had adults using the bunk bedroom before but is better suited towards children. I'm unsure why you had problems accessing the building as you didn't have a mobile phone. It doesn't require a mobile phone to access our property. Delighted that you had a great weeks holiday.

Feels like vacation

We enjoyed a lot our stay in Villefranche sur Mer: all conditions are met to make you feel on vacation: clean pool -10 seconds away, you prefer the beach? add another 3 minutes, restaurants- Stroll along the beach couple of minutes... Interested in sightseeing , shopping , visiting the Côte d'Azur ? hop on the bus or train -both of which are 10-15 minutes walk and you are set...depending on where you want to go ,some 15 min-1 hour transport . The appt itself is very convenient , all amenities for a comfortable stay-the terrace makes your meals so enjoyable, beats some restaurants' views:-) Well kept gardens around the appt make for enjoyable surroundings. The host is very responsive and kind! Thank you for letting us use your property Cheers

Lovely apartment in Villefranche-sur-Mer

We had a lovely stay in the apartment. Bill could not have been more helpful, from sending pre-arrival advice to being hugely accommodating to a frequent change of flights that we encountered on our trip! The apartment itself is brilliantly located and well kept and stocked with all you will need. Plenty of room for a family of 4 (children aged 8 &11) with a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. The pool is excellent as is the snack bar adjacent. A short walk to villefranche-sur-mer with some lovely restaurants (we ate at Espuma & La Travestere) . Easy transport with a bus stop just outside the property, we took the bus into Nice, to Eze and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. We also took the train to Ventimiglia, Italy which was a 45 minute journey. Would thoroughly recommend

Lovely location!

This flat offered a perfect location for our holiday, set in beautiful gardens, with attractive views from the balcony and swimming pool. The pool was a good large size, deep enough for the children to enjoy underwater swimming and not too busy. The snack bar offered convenient, tasty food and my husband and son enjoyed the English tv for Wimbledon and the Euros! The flat is very clean and functional and we appreciated the lack of mosquitoes! Villefranche is very attractive and the excellent transport links meant that we were able to holiday and do lots of sightseeing without a car- a relaxing change for us! The taxi from the airport is a short, reasonable ride and the bus stop behind the residence provided a very regular service to everywhere we wanted to visit. We went out every day and there is still more to do, with trips to Menton and various art galleries around Nice being family favourites. It was a pleasant walk to the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and Villa Kérylos and we enjoyed the French-Italian cuisine of the area. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area!

Wir haben 2 Wochen in diesem Appartement verbracht und es war eine schöne Anlage. Für 2 Personen ausreichend Platz. Für maximal mögliche 4 Personen, wie angeboten, wäre es wohl etwas eng geworden. Die Lage zum Meer und zur Altstadt war sehr gut und auch zum Bahnhof war alles gut Zufuss zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war hervorragend. Einzig das WLAN war sehr unzuverlässig. Küche war gut und ausreichend ausgestattet. Einzig das ab der zweiten Woche eine Gebühr von 6 Euro pro Tag und Person verlangt wurde um die Liegen am Pool zu nutzen, war etwas enttäuschend. Es war wohl eine Entscheidung der Appartement-Verwaltung und nicht vom Eigentümer der Wohnung, dennoch nicht schön und mit weiteren Kosten verbunden, wenn man denn dann direkt am Pool liegen wollte! Ob und wie lange diese Gegebenheit anhält muss man vorher klären. Ansonsten eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung, wenn man nicht vom Wlan abhängig ist und meiner Meinung nach, nur zu zweit dort wohnt.

Thank you for writing a review which was very welcome. We have found the apartment to be more than adequate for 4 people. Some similar size apartments advertise they can accommodate 5/6 people. I'm glad that you found the location to be very good also & within easy walking distance.

Un appartement très agréable pour 2 personnes avec vue sur la verdure et très calme nous pouvons profiter de la piscine et des transats en cette semaine très chaude là.ensemble de la résidence et l ‘appartement sont très propres

Lägenheten var fantastisk, perfekt för 2-4 personer med rymlig balkong och allt man kan önska sig. Fin utsikt över en underbar trädgård som man kunde njuta av. En kort promenad på ungefär 5 minuter så var man nere på stranden. Bussförbindelser och tågstation var också i närheten av lägenheten som vi uppskattade mycket.

La résidence est bien desservie par les transports en commun (bus tout près), pratique pour visiter la région, on peut laisser la voiture au parking privatifTrès belle piscineRestaurants à une vingtaine de minutes de marcheHôte réactif et fort sympathique!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de 10 jours en famille de 4 dans cet appartement de vacances.Le rapport qualité-prix est très bon pour une résidence confortable avec une magnifique piscine, un accès tout proche à toutes les plages de Villefranche et un beau jardin fleuri.La vue sur la mer est superbe. Quelques points faibles: appartement petit mais fonctionnel, chambres avec une toute petite fenêtre assez sombre donnant sur l'intérieur du bâtiment, matériel de cuisine plutôt pour cuisiner pour 2 personnes que pour 4, quantité de papier toilette et savon vraiment minime pour 4 personnes en arrivant (peut-être signaler aux vacanciers de venir avec un peu de stock pour ne pas être pris au dépourvu?)Quelques points forts: résidence très agréable et assez calme avec un système de badge pour sécuriser la très belle piscine. Il y a des chaises longues confortables autour de la piscine sur les terrasses du toit, avec une vue superbe sur la mer et les montagnes. Proche de la mer, du sentier de randonnée le long de la côte, proche de la Villa Ephrussi et de Beaulieu-sur-Mer, accès facile à Nice à 20 minutes de route avec le bus 15 (ou 600) qui s'arrêtent juste devant.Le propriétaire est facile à contacter et très aimable, tous les renseignements ont été clairement transmis par mail et les accès étaient faciles, comme annoncé.

L appartement situé entre Nice et Menton est idéal pour une famille de 4 personnes. Son balcon donnant sur un magnifique jardin arboré est un gros plus. A moins de 5 min à pied, vous êtes sur la rade de Villefranche sur mer et à 10 min du port avec ses restos et petits commerces. Vous êtes à 5 min de st Jean cap Ferrat, 15 min de EZE,.... Bill (L'Hôte) vous accompagne dès votre réservation jusqu'à la fin. Le personnel de la résidence est super sympa. Je recommande vivement ce coin de paradis.

Region magnifique à visiter c un ravissement.La résidence et la piscine avec transats sont superbes et très bien entretenues avec végétation et jardins luxuriants.Environnement calme et bien fréquenté.A la piscine, un snack avec personnel charmant est à notre disposition. L'appartement est joli et confortable et bien aménagé quoique les chambres soient un peu trop petites. Les lits sont très confortables et tout est très propre. Le balcon suffisament spacieux, donnant sur jardins est très agréable et permet de prendre les repas dehors ou de se relaxer.Une voiture est nécessaire car la plage en dessous de la résidence est minuscule et mal aisée d'accès avec grosse montée pour rentrer.La plage des fourmis de Beaulieu la plus proche est très bien mais exige 15 mns de marche minimum et le super U à 20 ou 25 mns. Avec des jeunes enfants comme nous, il faut prendre la voiture ou le bus.A part cela c'est une très bonne adresse que je recommande, sans oublier Bill le propriétaire qui est charmant et communique parfaitement toutes informations. Le rapport qualité prix est bon pour la région.
Très heureuses vacances à l'ange gardien de Villefranche sur mer !

Thank you for taking time to write a review. Delighted you had a lovely holiday & are eager to return. The nearest beach is Villefranche sur mer & only 200 metres from the residence gardens. The beach is quite large & stretches all around the bay of Villefranche so I'm unsure what beach you visited. The shops as others have written are nearby or only 2 stops if you prefer to take the local bus.
