A feature of this scenic and conveniently located property 3 mins walk from the town centre is the world renowned panoramic sea view of La Rade de Villefranche and Cap Ferrat, which can be appreciated from the large, L-shaped, 24 square metres, terrace. One section of the terrace can be used as a solarium leading to the summer terrace. Note: 1 square metre = 10 feet approximately. This spacious apartment, located in a quiet residential boutique development of just 9 apartments overlooking the Bay, boasts over 91 square metres of living space and is accessed through an exclusive gated entrance with underground parking and cellar. There are also picturesque gardens and, of course, an outdoor pool. La Colline is also ideally located close to the famous French Language School school 'Institut Francais'. Therefore, while a car is not an essential requirement, guests also have the use of a reserved underground car parking space in our garage. Recently a new state of the art tram system has been built to connect the city of Nice with Nice Airport Terminals 1 and 2. This is a very welcome development for travellers. The tram fare costs 1 euro 50 per person on a solo trip. The trams are fully air conditioned and stop regularly through Nice Centre Ville, parallel to the 'Promenade des Anglais' with Line 2 ending at the terminus 'Port Lympia'. Here you can hop on a number 15 bus in the direction of 'St Jean Cap Ferrat' or a 100 bus in the direction of 'Monaco/Menton' which only costs 1 euro 50 per person solo. This scenic bus journey takes only 10 to 15 minutes where you need to disembark at the stop called 'L' Octroi' which is the official stop for our apartment 'La Colline' in Villefranche Sur Mer. The apartment is an oasis of peace and tranquility, yet located within a 3 minute walk of the town centre and its amenities i.e. restaurants, bars, shops, port and beach, park etc. If you want great value for money when it comes to dining out, we recommend taking a walk down to 'Port de la Darse' which is located a short walk from the apartment where there is a selection of restaurants which are better value than the old town . We recommend a casual, no fuss diner called 'La Baleine Joyeuse' (The Happy Whale). This diner, frequented by the French themselves is ideally located looking out over the port with stunning views perfect for boat watching. Picture yourself looking out over the water while sipping on a chilled glass of rosé. This is ideal for a laid back lunch before heading down to the beach. It opens from 7:30am and closes at 5pm. Another restaurant we recommend also located at 'Port de la Darse' is called 'La Trinquette' which opens from 4pm till 23:30'. If you want more of an evening dining experience, then this is the place to visit/book! Here traditional, tasty and affordable French cuisine including whole fresh fish, to steak or a delicious pasta is served. They also serve tasty roasted herb and garlic potatoes and ratatouille which is 'delicieuse'! The French vibe is completed with live music played mostly on the weekends where you can listen to some jazz and relax with 'un carafe de rosé'. Of course, there are also plenty of additional dining options depending on your budget to be found down in the old town of Villefranche, with restaurants located along the winding streets or if you prefer a sea view, looking out over the water. The prices here are generally more expensive, so we would suggest eating in the 'Port de la Darse' for better value if you are on a budget and delicious French food. La Colline is in great proximity to a range of beaches including 'La Darse Beach' (a pebbly beach which is usually less crowded and very clean) and 'Plage des Marinieres' which is the main beach in Villefranche Sur-Mer' and has a life guard present. You can also visit Plage 'La Petite Afrique' and 'Plage des Fourmis' which are both located in the next town of Beaulieu-Sur-Mer. Here there are also a wide selection of restaurants overlooking the port and there are also some shops in which to browse.' There is a market held every Saturday in Beaulieu on the town square and it is always a hive of activity for tourists and French alike. Don't forget to enjoy a coffee and croissant or even lunch in La Grande Cafe de Beaulieu opposite the square while you are there. Plage des Fosses, Plage Paloma' and 'Plage des Fossettes' are all located on the world famous penninsula called 'St Jean Cap Ferrat'. Here, the beaches are a range of big and small coves, perfect for paddle boarding or snorkeling. 'St Jean Cap Ferrat' is perfect for dining out with a range of upmarket restaurants. We recommend having a drink at 'La Civette' which is great for people and car watching while watching the world go by if you like that sort of thing!
This apartment has been equipped to ensure a comfortable stay for all our guests. The view from the terrace can only be described as breathtaking ! The property is ideally located with pretty gardens and an outdoor pool for use by guests during the Summer season. It is an extremely private yet centrally located property in the town centre of Villefranche, (Basse Corniche).

We had a lovely stay for two weeks in November and December. The apartment was very comfortable, the view is spectacular and the location was perfect for our immersion course at the Institut de Français. Although we didn't use the pool, we understand it is well maintained and popular through the tourist season. Highly recommend.

Great Location
Amazing views from the balcony which the pictures on the website dont do full justice to. Very well located to explore the area. Very clean. Great to have a garage as street parking very busy.Would recommend the local buses as well as the train but care re trains as incredibly full !!

Lovely, comfortable apartment with a view
The two bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, with kitchen, wrap-around terrace, air conditioning in bedrooms and main living area. Parking is off-street. Beautiful garden and private pool. Easy walk to Old Town. Host is wonderful to deal with.

Truly beautiful apartment
Loved it . We had everything we needed kitchen wise . Beautiful views , even from the bed . Sun on the terrace all day till 5.30pm.
Clean and peaceful pool .
Fabulous restaurants all within 15 minutes stroll. A bit of climb back up for us oldies ! Easy for bus routes and train.

La Colline
This was an exceptional place. The view from the living room and balcony that greeted you every morning is spectacular. It’s a spacious, well-maintained, up-to-date apartment. It’s a 10 minute walk to lovely shops and cafés in town, 5 minutes more to the old town. Very convenient buses to Nice and Monaco. We loved it. 5 stars.

Great views and everything you need
The views are stunning from the apartment. For anyone with mobility issues, there is the #80 bus that will run you up the hill from the port. It’s not a bad hill, but it’s definitely a hike. The bed was comfortable, Patrick was responsive and simply enjoying the views with a glass of rose was divine.
Highly recommend dinner at La Mere Germaine and daily drinks at The Welcome Hotel. Villefranche is a great place to call home.

The View Is Spectacular!
Wonderful, spacious apartment. Could use a little sprucing up, but everything that was needed was there. Definitely nice that a bus now stops right outside, because the walk up the hill is quite exhausting if Covid has interfered with your physical fitness. The view is incredible!

Five stars. Communication with owner was quick, clear and efficient. The apartment is very spacious and bright. The terrace is large and offers expansive views of the magnificent harbour. The apartment is a short walk to shopping, dinning, and train. Brand new washer and dryer. Kitchen very functional. Windows on three sides for beautiful cross ventilation and ac in every room. Check in and out super easy. Plenty of linens and towels and kitchen and bath supplies. Already booked to come back next year.

Fantastic Views
The apartment was exactly as described. It had amazing views from the balcony and was really clean with a well stocked kitchen.
It is located a 15 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop enabling you to easily visit lots of places along the coast.
The apartment is up a very steep hill so anyone with mobility issues would struggle.
I would highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to return

La Colline
Well equipped very comfortable apartment with a spectacular view.We were two couples and the facilities were ideal for us . Yes if you don`t have a car there's a bit of a hike ( a few hundred yards up hill )to the apartment but it`s well worth it .La Colline is closer to the 100 bus stop ( Menton to Nice every 15 -20 minutes ) than the train station by quite a way..I recommend the property highly

Lovely apartment we stayed in with wonderful views as in photo.Some things need attention which I think for the price should be fine as are easy fixes (as in photos).Rather than stating the rules of the apartment block it would have been good to know the local transport rather than just a bus timetable in French. We didn’t have a clue which bus to catch or where it went?One night we could not work the entrance gate, luckily another resident let us in, I did text Patrick for advice but got no response.Finally I would say a car is need to stay here as the hill to the town is very steep, especially in the summer heat but I am 55!

The area is great. You need to be mindful that some roads are steep .
Amazing terrace and view. Pool well maintained.
Air conditioning in both rooms and lounge which was essential given tje hot weather. Appliances in good working order. Would benefit from an update but it dos not bother us
The only downside is that previous guests left dry food items and these were not removed: packets of pasta opened, ketchup opened. In bathroom strip of empty medicine in medicine cupboard.
I think this flat has amazing potential and needs redecorating. During our stay the matresses were replaced.

We stayed for a week in La Colline and it was wonderful. The view is incredible. The apartment was perfect for our family of three. It had everything we needed including a washer and dryer, dishwasher, cookware, and comfortable beds. The location is excellent. It is close to restaurants and shopping. You do need to be able to walk hills comfortably if you plan to walk vs drive (which I highly recommend). It was a great home base for exploring cities like Cannes, Antibes, Monaco and Eze. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return again in the future. We found the restaurants in Villefranche to be much better than in many other places we went this summer. One note: Do not shop at the store Cargo. The owner is awful. She overcharged us by 40 euro for an item that is sold all over. She removed the original price tag so we didn’t know we’d over paid until we saw the item in other shops. She yelled at a kid who was in the store and was generally rude. Otherwise all the shops and shop keepers were wonderful. The twice weekly market is great for fresh fruit and veggies and had some very nice and well priced clothes.

Fabulous - however . .
I stayed here for over two weeks last September. The apartment, its views, terraces and décor are all absolutely fabulous. The apartment is very well equipped and I cannot think of anything else it needed. I spent many hours sitting on the balcony enjoying the view sipping a rose wine. The main reason I chose this apartment, however, was that it indicated it had a pool. When I went to use it, however, it was clear that it had not been operational for quite some time. I spoke to the property manager and he indicated there was a crack that was probably not repairable. So, aside from everything else being beyond perfect, the fact that a pool had been advertised but was not usable was very disappointing.

We always strive to please our customers and maintain the apartment to the highest standards and we are very pleased to receive your excellent customer feedback. However, we are disappointed that that outdoor pool was not in service at the time of your stay. The pool is fully operational and maintained from May-September by the building management company. Unfortunately, at the time of your holiday, there was a fault with the pool which caused it to be unserviceable. As you can appreciate, this was outside our control but we are disappointed that we were not informed of this problem by our local agent in Villefranche. so that we could have given you some advance notice. This fault has now been repaired for the coming 2015 Summer season. We understand how it may have detracted from your holiday and we offer you our sincere apologies on this occasion. We look forward to welcoming you at some time in the future when you will have full access to the outdoor pool facilities.

FABULOUS APARTMENT IN VILLEFRANCHE!
We stayed at La Colline for a week in June and it was simply perfect! My family had never done a vacation apartment rental before, and after this experience, I don't think we'll ever book a hotel again.
The apartment is spacious and well equipped and the view is nothing short of spectacular. We ate breakfast on the wraparound deck every morning - it was hard to leave the apartment and go sightseeing with a view like that! Our young daughters had good sleeps in the twin beds in the second bedroom. And the AC in the master bedroom proved useful on a couple of warm evenings. Patrick and Lucy Travers were polite during our phone chats ahead of our trip, and provided us with detailed instructions and info, and the gentleman Frank who met us at La Colline with keys was kind, and also incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations, directions...etc. The walk to the centre of town is about ten minutes and includes a couple of hikes down fairly steep stairways. There's a wonderful Boulangerie about a five minute walk away, so breakfasts consisted of chocolate croissants and fresh baguettes. While we only made it to the pool once, it made for a nice afternoon. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to La Colline. In fact, I'm fantasizing about it right now!

Super Lage, toller Pool, sehr große Wohnung und die Tiefgarage ist ein Pluspunkt, Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter sehr gut. Die Wohnung hat allerdings überall Renovierungsstau. Die Küche aus den 80ern z.B. wäre mal zu ersetzten, dort fallen langsam die Hängeschränke von der Wand. Man bezahlt die Lage und den exklusiven Blick auf die Bucht und nicht die betagte Möblierung aus den 80ern.

Magnifique séjour
Appartement avec vue absolument fabuleuse. A 5 min des epiceries, 10min des restaurants a pied. Proprete impeccable et tout le necessaire pour les vacances fourni avec l'appartment. Communication facile pour check in et check out. Merci beaucoup!

Fantastisk udsigt og område
Dejligt område men med mange trapper. Fantastisk udsigt. Skøn by og super mad. Udlejningsbureauet ydede den bedste service og vi havde 10 skønne dage som var nær Nice, Cannes og Monaco. Bus og tog i nærheden så bil ikke nødvendigt.

This apartment has one of the best views in Villefranche which can only be truly appreciated while sitting on the wraparound L shaped terrace. It is located centrally in the village and situated close to all amenities on foot. The bus stop and shops are only a 5 minute walk away. There is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool which can be used by guests and lounge chairs are provided. There is also an underground parking space for guests to use if driving a car.
