We are the owners of A Scandinavian Retreat. We want to thank all of our renters from the 2023 season. We hope you enjoyed your time at our property and made a lot of forever memories while you were there. Our family also makes it to DCL several times during the year to enjoy life at the lake. We love our property and are always thankful when the visitors (both people and animals) who enjoy it are careful and respectful. Sharing a property is always easier when visitors treat a property the same as they would if it were their own. DESCRIPTION:
A Scandinavian Retreat is a fabulous chalet set upon a wooded lot on the banks of the quiet Carmel Cove. This dog-friendly home offers beautiful cathedral ceilings and large decks, paired with the stunning stone fireplace and airy loft that are reminiscent of the Swiss style. And the lavish delights of this lake chalet go far beyond the architecture! The comfort of the wooded setting encourages you to linger on the deck to take in the sounds of nature, fresh mountain air and the stunning colors of the changing seasons. The large lot is great for kids and dog to enjoy and expend some extra energy. The warmth of this beautiful chalet offers a quiet relaxing retreat while still keeping you close to area activities and family favorite destinations. The local movie theater, Deep Creek Lake State Park, and a plethora of local favorite restaurants are all just short drives from the home. At the end of the day be sure to enjoy a dip in the bubbles of the hot tub or cozy up in front of the fire pit telling stories. In the winter, being curled up with a good book in front of the fireplace as the snow falls outside couldn't be a more picturesque way to spend the day! A Scandinavian Retreat is a vacation destination that will keep you coming back again and again (no matter the season)!

Private Lake Front. No Dock Slip Provided. Swim Platform on community docks is available for guest use for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Please note that docks are only guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

4WD/AWD or snow tires are always recommended for the area during the Winter months of November - March. For more house specific driveway information, please refer to your app/guest portal after booking.

DOG BREED LIMITATIONS: Even in dog-friendly homes, it’s prohibited to bring any dog with a history or instance of aggressive or reactive tendencies. We welcome any dog which you know to be well-socialized, trained, and friendly in any situation involving others, both human and canine, as there may be nearby dogs at neighboring properties. However, due to restrictions in place by homeowner insurance policies, breeds listed as most aggressive are banned from all rentals, regardless of the training and temperament of the individual dog. AFTER BOOKING: An email will be sent to the address provided during check-out; please check for action items needed to secure your reservation. The subject of this email will start with "URGENT: Complete Your Booking For"... and may be in your Promotional/Marketing folders depending on your email provider and settings.

TOILETRIES & PAPER PRODUCTS: Bed linens and bath towels provided w/rental. No soaps, toiletries, paper products, trash bags, etc. will be provided with the exception of a welcome bag including a few starter items. Please pack accordingly.

NOTE: A copy of the contract holder's Photo ID, a signed contract, and a list of your full travel party (names/ages of all attending) will be required to complete your booking. If booking last minute, you may be required to stop by our main office to show your photo ID and the credit card used on the reservation. This policy is in place to help combat fraudulent activity that is more likely to occur in last-minute arrivals.
