Beautiful views of Mooseabec Reach from all rooms in this truly one-of-a kind home, rents Saturday to Saturday.
In addition to the downstairs bedroom, there is a loft bedroom with views of nearby islands. Watch the lobster boats, along with the sailboats. This property is a mere fifteen feet from the shore so you can enjoy the changing tides, an array of shore birds -- eagles, ospreys, and blue herons. Surrounding sea roses infuse the air with their lovely scent.
The absolute freshest lobsters can be purchased from my neighbors who pull their pots daily or local lobster pounds.

Beautiful spot with fabulous water views even from the bedroom. Easy access to hiking and biking trails. WE took a day trip to Eastport, went on a whale-watching boat with Wonderful friendly local community. Lobster fishermen are right next door and Moosabec mussels is right down the road, it doesn't get fresher than that!

Amazing cottage that exceeded our expectations. We did not want to leave!!

So relaxing!!!

We loved staying at your cottage in Jonesport! It was so beautifully decorated and clean! The stunning ocean views could be seen from inside and outside the cottage! My family enjoyed fresh lobster from the neighbour on the deck watching the fishing boats and sea birds go by. It was wonderful and so relaxing!

Lovely cottage on Bay of Fundy. We loved to see how the tide changes twice a day. The decor was so nice inside and out. Lovely garden and front porch with a bbq. Very clean and had everything we needed. There is a couple local take-out restaurants in the area which were great! If you want a fancier sit down restaurant you will have to drive 35 mins to one of the local towns. Its a very quiet lobster fishing town where we bought some fresh lobster one day right off the boat next door to us. There is some nice local trails to hike on as well as others which are an hour or so away. This has been the nicest place we've ever stayed in!

We had a truly wonderful week in Jonesport. We cooked a lot of meals and the kitchen is great for that, top notch equipment, as nice as our home kitchen plus some spices and sugar and so forth for convenience. The views are spectacular from anywhere in the house and we loved the shack that's on the rocks over the water. Great for hanging out and reading or having a morning cup of coffee.The neighborhood is quiet and restful, but plenty to do. We went kayaking twice and hiking twice.I highly recommend the trail on Great Wass, but be careful if you're older as the rocks can be tricky to climb. For kayaking, I recommend launching either from Beals Town Park and heading toward Mud Hole, or launch from Roque Bluffs (40 min drive) and explore the archipelago.Thomas is a great host, very responsive and accommodating.

Great November Getaway

Thanksgiving turkey dinner with a water view, yes please! Lovely cottage right on Moosabec Reach with a little cove and lots of wildlife right on your doorstep. Warm, comfy setting to come home to after excellent though nippy hikes at nearby preserves. Comfortable bed and living room and a full kitchen we used well since it was off season. Loved it and would return!

Beautiful house and great location

We loved the view of the bay from the big living room windows and listening to the oyster boats going by. Also, buying live lobsters from the lobstermen next door.

Perfect Place to Relax and Enjoy the Ocean

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the rosehip cottage. Beautiful view, close to the ocean, nice kitchen area, all the utensils you need, convenient laundry area with supplies. Love the lobster shed. The whole place is in a private little nook surrounded by rosebushes and bamboo. I would have given 5 stars if there were a bigger shower and one more garbage can to put the trash in the garden shed. Overall the place was better than expected and I plan to book it again for a week next summer. Thanks for building the Rosehip Cottage.

Lovely and perfectly situated cottage

The cottage is at the water's edge and is very quiet. Lots of windows with spectacular views of the water. I highly recommend the cottage, and the owner was terrific.

Rosehip Cottage exceeded our expectations

We had such a pleasant stay here and we loved the cottage it's beautiful and tastefully decorated and very clean.You will feel very comfortable and at home here. The weather was beautiful every day of our stay and we done many road trips between Acadia and Eastport. We enjoyed the views from the cottage and the lobster shed deck. It was interesting to watch the tides come in and out and the lobster boats were interesting to watch as well. Would highly recommend this place for beautiful scenery.

Tranquil setting

Rosehip cottage exceeded our expectations. Thomas did an excellent job designing the layout to make efficient use of the space. Our time there was a very comfortable and relaxing experience. This was our first trip to the Down East area of Maine. We found everything we needed within a reasonable driving distance and all of the people we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The lobster was the best we ever tasted. We would definitely like to visit again.

Beautiful cottage, very relaxing stay

The cottage had everything we needed, it was very comfortable (including the beds) with great views. We enjoyed the parade of lobster boats going out and coming back in each day, watching in the early morning from the lobster shack and in the afternoon in the nice chairs out front. The rose bushes surrounding the cottage give it a very private feel.

Great stay...

Thomas has tastefully appointed, renovated and supplied his beautiful waterfront cottage. We had the privilege of meeting him, and chatting briefly about his VRBO. It was a great, relaxing visit, and we will definitely be back.

Perfect!

We stayed for a week plus a couple of days at the end of May. Weather was about what you would expect - some sun, some rain, some fog and wind. The fascination with the coming and going of the tides just never ends, especially being so close to the water. We really enjoyed watching the lobster boats come and go. There's always something to look at. The place itself was perfect. Lots of big bright windows so even cloudy days seem less gloomy. Very clean and well equipped. Beds were nicely outfitted with quality sheets and quilts and a good mattress. Thomas was very friendly and helpful and easy to get in touch with.

Rosehip Cottage is charming and comfortable.

We're a bit under the spell of the charm of this cottage. We woke each morning to the sound of the lobster boats heading out for a day's work. The light that greeted us was clear and beautiful. We remarked on the light at all hours of the day. The house is carefully appointed and delightfully decorated. The quiet and the fresh air left us well rested. The village is a serious working lobstering harbor. Jonesport has a tradition of fine boat building. The residents are friendly - they smile and wave to everyone, newcomers included. We were there during the blueberry harvest so between lobsters and blueberries we ate very well. The listing description is very accurate. The property very clean and well-maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service. We recommend this property highly to friends and relatives.

Eckert Stay July 2016

Great Maine experience! Well appointed and tasteful house that had everything we needed to relax and have fun. Located a little further from Bar Harbor than anticipated but it worked out well, we got experience the entire coast. Acadia National Park was fabulous but a little crowded. Ventured to Cutler, Western Head trails. Campobello FDR compound in New Brunswick Canada and Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec. All very interesting and spectacular in there own different way.. Local Beals Island was a true fishing village and the Great Wass Island 5.5 mi hike was well worth the adventure. Get local lobstah', and cook at home. It is the best way to go. No local restaurants. Sandy Beach-Jonesport was 3 miles, we had it to ourselves. Really enjoyed spending time at the house. Unique location on the cove. Water views was always the focus. Tide rising and falling created unique experience for Pittsburghers. Comfortable 2-bedroom house, Wi-Fi was a plus. losbter shed & deck was frequently used. People were friendly in our cove, local fisherman provided us with lobsters and we ate mass quantities. We will never forget our "Down East" vacation!

Absolutely beautiful. Both house and view.

A perfect place to stay if you want to experience a "Mainer's lifestyle ". The Lobster house is a great place to enjoy the sites and sounds of the water while staying out of the wind and rain.

I was attracted to this property because of its proximity to the water. The cottage has good bones, but the spaces needed up dating. New windows and access doors were installed to take advantage of the beautiful water views, smells of the ocean and sea roses that surround the home.
