Situated only 15 minutes outside of Waterton Lakes National Park, The Sunset Cottage has the privacy, comfort, and charm to make your vacation a rejuvenating retreat! Nestled inside the friendly hamlet of Mountain View, with a panoramic view of the gently rolling hills of Southern Albertaā€™s beautiful farm country, this is a place you will want to return to again and again! *****Please note this house is 100 years old and in the winter months the kitchen and bathroom floor is cooler. We recommend bringing a warm pair of socks or slippers for your stay****

Our 750 square foot cottage has just undergone a complete and thorough upgrade, making everything inside and out modern, fresh and new! Sunset Cottage sleeps 8 people and includes two bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, and large closet for storage. The second bedroom has 2 bunk beds (4 twins), and huge drawers for tons of storage, as well as some bedside shelves and a mini-closet. Each bed has its own reading light and electrical socket for personal use. A portable crib is also provided.

A comfortable family room includes an electric fireplace for cozy evenings, a couch (pull-out sofa), 2 sofa chairs and a flat screen television/BLUERAY player (movie collection provided). From the comfort of the family room you can look out the large double full glass sliding doors at the picturesque view of the mountains and sunset to the west, or you can enjoy these gorgeous views from the beautiful new 400sq foot deck just outside.

Sunset Cottage has a fully renovated new kitchen, including a new dishwasher and microwave, as well as a large table perfect for meal prep, dining, and game nights! The kitchen receives natural light from 3 directions, and is a gorgeous centerpiece of the house. It is also fully stocked with dishes, cups, utensils, pots and pans, crock pot, rice cooker, toaster, electric pancake griddle, and coffee maker.

The beautiful full bath has gentle natural light, and includes a tile shower with ceramic tub combination, and pretty counter/sink. A full size washer and dryer are included, and are enclosed in a closet in the bathroom for your convenience.

This beautiful property offers a 1/2 acre of land with a fire pit, tree swing, hammock, and BBQ.

Other amenities included with your stay are: WiFi access, board games, outdoor games (football, soccer ball, basketball etc...), and roasting sticks for the campfire.

Loved the proximity to Waterton park and the peace and quiet to come home to at the end of the day. Kids loved the bunk beds and the firepit. The fully equipped kitchen and barbecue made for healthy home cooked meals to fuel our hikes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 5 night stay. The property matched the pictures and was very clean. It also was very well-stocked and equipped (e.g., kitchen supplies, games, books, etc). Some select elements are starting to show wear and/or their age but overall we couldnā€™t have asked for much more.

As listed 15 minutes to the Watertown Ranger station. Beautiful drive. Cozy place with all amenities. Per the description the water does have an odor but we know that before we booked. Highly recommend

It was a beautiful place with lots of space and the views were gorgeous. Owners had practically everything we may have needed there. Only downside was we were literally near nothing so youā€™d have to drive into waterton or neighboring towns for things but thatā€™s not a huge downside. Overall loved our stay thank you!!

Close to the park (Waterton) - see the Mountains from the deck! What a nice home with lots of space for everyone. Kitchen well stocked for cooking for the whole family. Nice updates in the house, lots of good labels so you can find everything you need. Lovely yard to spend time in. Will come back again.

Excellent house with all the amenities you would need. Very clean and well taken care of home. Proximity to Waterton (15 minutes) was excellent. Just off the highway but a very secluded location. Loved our time there and would look forward to returning.

Great little get away

Had a relaxing time by the fire pit. Very quiet, loved listening to the coyoteā€™s at night. Very clean and had everything we could possibly need. Would definitely stay here again!

It's a fantastic stay

Very clean and quiet house, really enjoy the environment. 2 bunk beds are excellent for 2 kids and more, and an extra sofabed in the living room, what a surprise !

Great spot for exploring

The house was great and had everything we would need to go exploring and come home to a nice relaxing clean spot. The back yard view was amazing and the kitchen is well stocked. The labels on everything were very helpful. The beds were comfy and we really enjoyed our time here.

Spring Break get away

This well-designed, clean, and brilliantly located cottage was a wonderful place for a few days rest and exploration of Waterton National Park. The little hamlet of Mountain view has a nice general store for the items we forgot, and we had horses in a paddock out the patio window as foreground to a great view of the Mountains. Our hosts were responsive and professional. My family is excited to visit again.

The house is delightful, the kitchen is very well equipped, beds are super comfortable, and the deck furniture allowed us to enjoy the stunning view from the outside as well as the inside. Overall, a lovely stay!

We loved staying here. So peaceful. Love the decorating. Well stocked kitchen. 16 min to Waterton national park. In the park is Cameron Lake worth the drive so pretty. Would stay again with no hesitation.

Welcome to our (your) home away from home! My name is Stephanie, and this charming little home is the culmination of my life-long dream--to hold a sliver of property in the hamlet that captured my heart as a child: Mountain View, Alberta. I grew up in this extraordinary place, then left to attend college at BYU in Utah. After graduating, marrying, and starting a family, my husband and I began a lengthy search to secure property in my hometown so that our children could frequently experience the wonders, beauty, and adventure of this most remarkable haven on earth! This year we decided to open up our cozy abode (AKA Sunset Cottage) to other families and individuals who are looking for the perfect place to relax and recoup between all of their adventures and memory-making in the fantastic Waterton Park area.

We love the comfortable coziness of our cottage, as well as the privacy of our property. On one side the cottage has an area that is completely sheltered by trees. This is where we spend our evenings laughing and relaxing around the fire pit, where the trees protect us from the wind, and we can enjoy the beauty of the stars.

Location, location, location! Really, the location is so ideal. Our home is sheltered by trees, but just across the road is a wonderful country store with several amenities, including--but not limited to--delicious waffle ice-cream cones! Our family loves morning walks (either for ice-cream, or exercise!), afternoon catnaps in the hammock, and starry-night evenings by the campfire. The brand new large deck is the perfect viewing location to watch the frequent breathtaking sunsets, lie on your back and look at the stars, or maybe even catch a glimpse of the occasional Northern Lights (if you are super lucky!).

A significant and unique benefit of our vacation home is the combined skillset of our vacation home managers, my brother Brandon and his wife Nicole. Both are known for their kindness and attention to detail. They will do everything in their power to make your stay exactly what you have in mind. Brandon is the mastermind and master-carpenter behind the gorgeous renovations you will see throughout the house. He can do pretty much anything, and is on call should you need anything at all! Nicole's expertise and passion is in the travel and tourism industry. She loves serving people, and helping them discover the wonderful things our area has to offer. Nicole has worked serving tourists in several premier Waterton Park area hotels and restaurants, including The Prince of Wales Hotel, and Waterton Lakes Resort. She has connections to many local businesses, and can offer unique Vacation Packages to our visitors. Nicole is also an avid runner, hiker, cross country skier, adventure-seeker and mother of 3, and can give you first-hand recommendations and information on most of the area's trails and sightseeing.
