We promise you an experience filled with lasting memories.

In the Heart of Old Destin. Sunchase town-homes are the original highly-desired beaches of Destin, and you can't get a better seat. You will be within walking distance to some of Destin's favorite Restaurants. 1 block from the Whales Tale There's no pool here, but the ocean is all yours. Just step off your deck onto your own beach.

A 5 min drive of outlet malls, many restaurants, and other retail shopping. Want to go to the Destin Harbor, then give yourself ten minutes driving time, and you're there.

Close to everything, comes with everything.
Purchased in 2012, remodeled in 2022 this unit is a 'no smoking, no pets. It has 2 Bedrooms which sleep between two to eight people. The unit comes fully equipped has a King Size master bedroom overlooking the ocean with a private balcony. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and twin bunk with trundle bed. The guest bedroom also has its own full bath, lastly, a foldout queen in the living room with half bath provides three separate private sleeping spaces. There is a full kitchen and 2.5 baths. It comes with a 3 Flatscreen TV's including a 55' in the living room and a DVD Player on every TV. The Full Kitchen is equipped with Appliances, Dishes, Silverware, and Cookware. There are Linens, Towels, and a private Washer / Dryer for your convenience.

The two private balconies are equipped with chairs for a relaxing evenings in the breeze. A gated private staircase allows all renters direct access to the beach and first floor balcony with an outdoor shower and beach chairs to take to the beach, The scenery is complete with both a breathtaking view of the Gulf and the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach.

The Master bedroom is next to the ocean so you can hear the waves even with the doors closed.

Beach Time
The scenery is complete with both a breathtaking view of the Gulf and the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach. Play in the beach all day and rinse off in the outdoor shower.

There are two parking spot for this rental that hold 2 standard cars back to back. it is directly in front of the unit.

Lastly, no more looking for the perfect beach spot since the unit is deeded all the beach to to the water!

We will absolutely be booking this property again! The host was responsive. We have 5 kids between 5 and 15. The private access to the beach was so great, it made things so easy for the kids and not having to load everything and drive to a public access. There is a HUGE amount of sand toys, beach chairs and umbrellas available for you to use. It saved so much room packing. The house was very clean, parking was right in front of the front door of the unit. The only thing I would suggest, is to put a taller tabletop and chairs off of the master balcony. When you sit, the railing blocks your view. We had a great stay!

Miramar get away

This is the second time I have stayed at Sticks in the Sand. Only suggestion I have is the bed in the master bedroom should be considered for replacement. Other than that everything went well and stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Beach trip

Master bed is all we slept in , needs a new mattress. Back appearance of condo from the beach ( all units ) looks weathered and in need of attention. Location is amazing , not crowded on that part of the beach so itā€™s a trade off for the dated property. We left a day early due to wanting to get home and sleep in our bed ā€¦ that was the main downside Dressers had a very musty smell which transferred to the clothes

Absolutely perfect location

We could not have asked for a better place to stay! We were right on the beach and the fact that the beach was private property guaranteed that we had our choice of places to set up our umbrella and chairs. Within walking distance to a gas station and ice cream. Centrally located and easy access to all that Mirimar Beach and Destin have to offer! So happy with this property and our stay!

You get your own spot on the beach. What else could you ask for!

My family and I had a wonderful time at this location! While it may not be a contemporary and immaculate spot, it exudes a charming seaside atmosphere. The greatest aspect of the location is its proximity to the beach, as well as its convenient location near coffee shops and restaurants. Communication was spot on and could not have asked for a better place at the price!

We have visited this property before and we will again. The place is always clean and right on the beach. Parking is tight in front of the building but thatā€™s everywhere in the area. If you want a spot on the beach where you donā€™t have to fight the crowds on the beach this is the place to go to.

Great Beach

Property had too many stairs for us but beach access was great and beach not crowded. Unit we had chosen from pictures on line was not the unit we were in, and we really like to see exactly where we will be staying. Location is convenient to restaurants. Both owner and management were extremely nice and very helpful to us.

This was our 2nd year to stay in both the Studio unit and the upstairs unit. We absolutely love this place. Shari & James are great to work with; the convenience store is right across the street and the beach is at your back door. I would recommend this to those who love to spend their days getting their tan on!

Great times!

We rented this 2 bedroom stilt house without seeing the interior, and were pleased when we did see the inside. Two comfortable bedrooms, 2 nice baths, a very comfortable living room and a fully equiped kitchen, and WI-FI. And a grill! The porch is great for morning coffee, and there is a canal-side patio with both sun- and shade-areas. The views from the porch and patio are very nice--canal, open water, and a bit of Cudjoe Key. A manatee swam by one morning. We loved feeding shrimp shells to the fish in the canal. Many MANY activities to get you involved--we'll take more advantage of those next year. Swimming and snorkeling at Bahia Honda State Park, hiking the walkways, swimming in the wonderful pool in the park (I wanted to bring the pool home, but couldn't get it in the car...) Lunches and dinners are delicious at Square Grouper, and brunch at Mangrove Mama's. We went to Key West for a day trip. Next year, we want to try Hogfish Grill--we ran out of time this year!! We didn't plan to return to this location--until we had been there 2 days. Then we booked for a whole month for 2015! In all-comfortable house, great location, very nice amenities!

Positives-the location, and the bathrooms are decent. It is right on the beach so definitely nice for that. The negatives-the mattresses are terrible for sleeping, place definitely needs updating. The grill was very dirty so we were unable to use. Other than that a decent place, we all said we would stay again if mattresses were replaced!

Great Location, but the Condo Itself Was a Major Disappointment.The proximity to the beach is really the only positive about this property. The condo is in serious need of renovation and a thorough deep clean. The master bedroom bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, and the entire unit had a strong mildew smell that made it unpleasant to spend time inside. We couldnā€™t use the dressers because our clothes picked up the odor.Both balconies are deteriorating and felt unsafe to sit on. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable and cut in and out constantly, making it impossible to work remotely or watch TV in the evening. While the owner was communicative before check-in with detailed rules and instructions, there was no response when I reached out for help with the internet issue.Overall, this property did not meet expectations and I would not book here again.

Excellent vacation home!

This condo was in a great location, a beautiful view of the Gulf, and was perfect for our family! We had no trouble with check in, or with checkout, and everything went well the entire week we were there. Definitely will rent this place again!

Beautiful private beach!!!!! Heavenly

Love the private beach, location is great. You can walk for dining or shopping. Downfall is all the stairs in the townhouse. But overall we loved our time in the townhouse. Private walkway just steps to the ocean. That was the key factor for us.

Fun in the Sun

We loved our second stay. Love the location on the beach. Ate at Whales Tale for lunch twice, a short stroll on the beach. The only downfall was the master bed is in need of replacement.

Nice place to stay

Nice place to stay for me and my daughter for a 4 day vacation from Ohio. There was a water leak at the property, but owner was in contact with me and had the problem solved within a hour. Nice beach house for a small family or group. I will consider this place again if/when we go back.

We are not professional renters. We started renting because James's originally purchased a home on the beach and for years he rented out the first floor since he only needed half the space.. We call it Sticks in the Sand because it is on pylons on the beach. Now married with 3 children we have continued to add our rental offerings . Due to the success of the original Sticks in the Sand, We now have 4 townhomes to rent! We have studio 1,2,3 bedroom units and continue to hope to provide our homes for families to enjoy..

The units are close to everything, walking distance to a bar/restaurant and directly on the beach with private ownership all the way to the water. The townhome can be rented 3 ways, a 2 bedroom (Listing #838156) , Studio unit (Listing #838155) or if you need more space you can rent it as a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath unit by renting them both. So it was perfect to maintain all my renters in one location
