Welcome to Almost There!

This well-appointed cabin at the top of Appalachian Ski Mountain is at the epicenter of your High Country adventures! You are just steps from the slopes for winter skiing and minutes from Tweetsie Railroad, downtown Blowing Rock or Boone, ASU football, the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, shopping, and dining. Almost There is the perfect home base for your mountain getaway.

The dining area, kitchen, open two-story living area with a gas fireplace, and a half bath are on the main level. Off the living area is the master bedroom, which features a king-size bed and a master bath with a walk-in shower. Upstairs is a loft with a queen-size leather sleeper sofa, two more bedrooms, and a full bath. One has a queen bed, and the other has a twin-over-full bunk bed. The bunk bedroom also has a sleeper chair. There is a 65-inch Smart TV in the loft.

There is a large backyard to play in, with a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows as the sun goes down. The wrap-around deck is perfect for sitting or relaxing in the 5-person hot tub as you listen to the sounds of nature or enjoy dinner by the outdoor wood-burning fireplace.

This home has Central air conditioning, Smart TVs, and is a 5-minute walk from the slopes. Internet TV is Roku. Guests will need to log in to their own account.

Great location and fun to walk to the ski slopes!

You can't beat this location for App Mtn skiing, and we found the home to be well cared for and comfortable, and the property management to be very responsive and communicative. Thanks for a great stay!

Great Stay

The cabin is great, in the perfect location. It just needs a bit of a deeper clean especially the light fixtures and windows. Unfortunately the dishwasher did not work while we were there, and the property management crew took a full day to get back to us when we called twice. Other than that issue, which I'm sure they will fix, we had a good time. It was nice to know someone was available to help us over the phone immediately if we needed it. Would stay here again.

Can’t wait to return

One of the best NC mountain cabins that we’ve rented. We will be back!!! Location was great. Cabin was clean and spacious!!!! Perfect for a family of 6.

Great location!

Our family had a great time at the cabin. The location was perfect. Very close to Tweetsie and 30 min to wilderness run. It was nice to be so close to the places we were going to and to be able to get delivery. The fireplace on the porch was really nice .

Family Fun on the Mountain

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay in this sweet cabin. The house was comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Lots of cozy blankets for snuggling in front of the fire. Great community of ski cabins with easy access to the ski mountain, Blowing Rock and Boone.

What an amazing stay at Almost There! Private setting with a wrap around deck - perfect for all of us and to hang out and take in nature! The deck fireplace was amazing,! House was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay! We will definitely be back!

Airy and spacious cabin, easy walk to App Ski Mountain

While looking for a family cabin near Appalachian Ski Mountain, I found this gem with plenty of space, huge wraparound deck with outdoor dining area and fireplace, and a well-appointed interior. The friendly and helpful property manager was quick to communicate with us and the easy 5-minute walk to the App Ski main lodge made this a perfect getaway. We recommend it to friends and will definitely return.

Perfect cabin

Loved everything about the house it was perfect for our event. We were there for upstate graduation. The only thing that didn’t work was the hot tub there were issues there but it was not a big deal we were so busy for the weekend. Overall I highly recommend this cabin it’s so nice laid out very well the kitchen was fully equipped.

Beautiful, clean, and great location!!

This house was spotlessly clean upon arrival and was everything listed and more. The hot tub was up to temperature and ready for use. The kitchen was well stocked. The only hiccup we had was that the ice maker wouldn’t make ice but that was easily remedied by just buying a bag. So convenient to Appalachian Ski Mtn where our little ones could ski. Also very close to Blowing Rock which was so quaint. Enjoyed our time so much just sitting by the fire (both indoor and outdoor!), soaking in the hot tub, and exploring the area. Will be back!

Perfect Getaway!!

My parents, pup & I had a wonderful week at Almost There!! The house was absolutely GORGEOUS & perfect!! The 4 of us had our own private space whether it was inside or outside the house to read, watch tv & etc! The kitchen was set up great & spacious to cook in night after night! The outdoor fireplace/dining area was our most favorite place to relax & unwind! The neighborhood was quite & peaceful! I’d also like to give a huge shoutout to Carolina Cabin Rentals for unlocking the house after we left so my parents could retrieve important medication! Y’all didn’t have to do that & we are GREATLY thankful for you!! We most definitely would stay here again!!

Relaxing getaway

We had a very nice time this weekend. Our family found the cabin comfortable with a nice amount of room. It was pretty easy to get to, check in was perfect. I had one quick question about the check out process, sent a message on a Saturday night, and received a fast response. The location and layout was user friendly. We loved the back porch for relaxation. Wifi was brisk enough for a little office computer work, the kitchen worked out fine, and everyone slept well. (While a little creakier than we would like the beds were soft..) So all in all a successful weekend. Plus App State won!

Nice but not nice

While the house is nice overall, no real views from the property as it is somewhat surrounded by other homes. When we arrived, one of the gates was off its rails and blcoking the entry and hot tub cover was off and tub was empty. Called the management company and they simply blamed the wind and asked it i coudl refill the tub. Not sure why no one had checked on the property prior to our arrival. The kitchen 'stock' needs an audit. Very few bowls, one dish towel, pans and lids did not match. All pans are warped so touch to evenly cook anything. Garbage - fine to take garbage to the recylcing center. But if you are only going to leave 2 garbage bags, how about something with a drawstring? Or if you are going to leave the cheapest bags possible, how about also leave the ties to close them up. Doesn't look like anyone has cleaned underneath the furniture in years. Gargbage can was disgusting. This could be a very nice property. But it needs some basic attention and better management.

Peaceful Cabin but no Mountain View

Overall we really were happy with this cabin. This was my first time booking through VRBO. The process was seamless. Also, the management company was excellent at responding before and during our stay. We had to reach out during our stay because the indoor gas fireplace kept beeping. In reading past reviews seems like it has happened before. There is a remote control along with a wall switch and it really isn't user friendly. The remote was reallllly dirty from being old I guess but I cleaned it thoroughly. The fireplace outside had a broken steel mesh fence which should probably be fixed or replaced. It was scary since wood was wet and wood pop and embers/flames would fly out. It was also left dirty from previous use. Also, the mattresses where really uncomfortable. So much so that my husband ended up sleeping on the sofa because his back couldn't handle the king bed after the first night of our 6 night stay. My daughter who is only 100 pounds also found the bed upstairs to be very uncomfortable. Our biggest disappointment was probably the lack of mountain views and lack of privacy. When I did my search I specifically entered mountain view and this property came up. Overall the cabin was cozy and we really enjoyed it being that we came from Florida and were looking forward to snow and we were lucky enough to get one snow day!

Holidays at Almost Home

This was a beautiful property in a great, central location. My family enjoyed a great holiday there. There was plenty of space for family to watch movies or play games at the large table. TVs and WiFi worked well. The hot tub was a bonus! The kitchen was well equipped for almost any cooking need. It was definitely cozy, comfortable and upgraded. One small criticism - the bath mats in the master bath were not clean and looked old and ratty. I was surprised this detail was missed. That said, overall, this was a top-notch property and I would recommend it!

Almost There cabin in North Carolina.

What a wonderful spot. We did enjoy our New Years spending time in this cozy cabin up in the Smokey mountains of N Carolina. Blowing rock is a cool little town, cabin is located right next to Appilation ski mountain which is very convenient. The pictures of the cabin were accurate and very nice. It does give you a bit of a false sense of the size but overall it was very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well and cable along with Netflix and all other sources of entertainment works very well We got a lot of usage out of the fireplaces which was very nice and we enjoyed the complete set up.

Loved Almost There

This is a beautiful mountain home. Due to COVID, we were looking for a place where we could relax while avoiding contact with others to the extent possible. Almost There fit the bill. We loved the fireplace, the comfy bed and couch. One of our dogs moved her bed in front of the fireplace and spent most of her time there. Unfortunately, we did not get to use the hot tub. One caveat, it would have been nice to have a heads up about the shower having reversed hot and cold. The management company was always responsive to our queries. We had a great stay and would come again.

Cute and cozy with great master setup.

Loved this little house, great master suite. Awesome Outdoor fireplace Which came in handy since it rained most of our stay. Not a super private location but really quiet which we knew from other are views. Loved the wrap around porch which was all enclosed to keep our dog safe. We would go back.

Summer mountain getaway

Great way to escape the heat of summer, nice property and I can see the location is perfect during winter as well. Was very central to Boone and Blowing Rock and all the sights we wanted to see, felt very clean and safe also.
