Charming Villa in Praia das MaĆ§Ć£s

Villa Praia das MaĆ§Ć£s is an independent, comfortable and bright property, surrounded by a beautiful garden and a private swimming pool. It is located in a quiet area with a great view of the sea.
On the lower floor there is a living room with fireplace, as well as a large dining room. All rooms have access to the outside garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and gives access to a beautiful winter garden with access to the outside. In the garden you will find a dining table and a barbecue, ideal for a sunset overlooking the ocean! Upstairs you find three bedrooms, two of them with a nice sea view. The suite has a double bed, closet and a balcony where you can enjoy the excellent sea view. The other two bedrooms have twin beds which can be joined at the request of guests. These two bedrooms share the same bathroom.
Praia das MaĆ§Ć£s is a village with the same name as the beach. It is a quaint area with all amenities. Close to the beach you will find a saltwater pool, tennis courts, restaurants, cafes, wine shops, pharmacy, post office, markets and other amenities! At short distances you will find Praia Grande, Praia Pequena, Praia da Adraga, S. LourenƧo and Guincho, among others!

wonderful stay

This is a beautiful property with fabulous views of the ocean, and within walking distance to the best restaurants and beaches, we really loved our stay. The host was so gracious and welcoming, leaving us beautiful cheese, bread and wine for our arrival then made us a reservation (twice) at our favorite restaurant Buzio... best food and wonderful service! The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There were comments from our friends regarding the beds and pillow quality in the secondary bedrooms (fairly hard beds) but ours was very comfortable. We loved our stay, thanks so much Maria and Helena...

Perfect coastal home

Beautiful home, with wonderful hosts. We really appreciated the personal check-in experience (including meeting us weary travelers at 8am!). The home is comfortable, with plenty of space, dishes/cooking needs, extra blankets, etc. We enjoyed walking to town/beach and the short drive to Azenhas do Mar and Sintra (take an Uber to Sintra!). We would return in a heartbeat.

Great two weeks

We had a truly lovely time at Maria home. The location was great for a family with three boys under 8 years old. The house was spacious clean and very relaxing. The view down to the sea was lovely to see every morning and evening. Perfect distance to visit Sintra and cascais. The town has loads of great restaurants and the beach is a great fun. Hope to make it back!

Incredible home - fabulous experience!

This home is a perfect gem to enjoy a true beach city prestigious experience! The house is spotless - the owner is truly a fabulous woman who greeted us with open arms and welcomed us with detail and care. The house is equipped with more than you need - cooking in the kitchen was a delight! Would recommend to anyone with a car who loves quiet luxury.

This is a beautiful home! Wonderful location, very clean and comfortable. The owner is so kind and helpful. Fabulous stay in Praia das MaƧas!

We stayed in this lovely home during our time on the western coast of Portugal. Joanaā€™s mother, Helena, greeted us, answered all our questions, gave great advice and then left us to settle in with complimentary bread, cheese, and wine! We really did not want for anything during our stay. The little village was a 5 minute walk with good restaurants and a little super Mercado, where they were very helpful and friendly. The yard was beautiful with all kinds of flowers in bloom and a nice place to sit and enjoy the ocean view, as well as a glass enclosed porch for sitting with a wonderful cross draft for the breeze. We would definitely stay here again! A lovely way to begin our vacation in Portugal!šŸ’—

Charming, perfect location, walk to the beach.

We had a fabulous stay in Colares - the property is perfect. The hosts were wonderful. We enjoyed daily walks to breakfast and to the beach. There are great restaurants nearby and it's a short drive to Sintra and all of its attractions. Would love to come back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!:)

Beautiful place to stay

We had a wonderful time at Joana's house. It was spotless, comfortable, cozy, and the view was spectacular! The pool is lovely although we did not get to enjoy it much since the weather was a bit chilly. We cooked in a couple of nights and the kitchen had everything we needed. Joana's mom greeted us upon arrival and could not have been nicer. She even left us some cheese, wine, chocolates, and a selection of fruits which was most appreciated since we were tired and hungry. The location was perfect, very close to Sintra, Lisbon, and little coastal towns nearby. We loved that we could just walk into Praia de Macas which had everything we needed; restaurants, coffee shops, beach, and little store. I would absolutely stay at Joana's house again and highly recommend it to anyone else.

Amazing!

My wife, daughter and myself stayed at this property from September 18-21, 2019 and it was a truly first class experience! From the wonderful check-in with the hostā€™s mother and father to their recommendations, to the absolutely stunning location - it was truly an unforgettable experience! We were welcomed with an assortment of fruits, cheese and wine and they made sure to have a baby crib and high chair there for us. During our stay we had a couple small questions for Maria who was very quick to text me back within minutes with the information I needed! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Sintra region, make sure you stay here as the overall experience truly matches the incredible views! Thanks again Maria!

Best 4 days!

Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful house with varied seating areas indoors and out. We enjoyed some pool time, wine on the back patio and gorgeous views out the windows. Easy walk to town which has many good restaurants. And easy drive to many sites and things to do. Owners very accessible as needed and very warm and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

A wonderful stay in Portugal at a beautiful home!

We had a wonderful stay at Maria's home in Portugal. From the get go she was so attentive in answering my many questions about her home, the area and things to do while visiting. She arranged a special dinner delivery from a local restaurant to celebrate a very special birthday. Her mom set the table for our arrival and it was perfect. We were greeted and given a tour of the home and it is beautifully decorated and spacious. There is a view from almost every window and the open air breezes were amazing. You have options to sit on the patio, the upper veranda off of one of the bedrooms, the sun porch or in the two comfortable sitting areas inside. The kitchen has all you need to cook if you choose to. The yard is well groomed with beautiful flowers and shrubs offering great privacy but also a glimpse of the water in the distance. The pool was great! We swam even in the rain! We walked to town almost every day for breakfast or dinner or just to look at the beautiful cliffs down to the water. It is a very short drive to Sintra, Cacais and many other little towns nearby that we explored. We spent two days at the beach and the kids took surf lessons and loved it. The water is cold, but all you need is a wet suit or brave it as it is refreshing! When we had questions, Maria responded right away. It was our first trip to Portugal and it was amazing and we are so happy we chose Colares and this beautiful home. Thank you!

Magnificent home in a beautiful location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were there four nights in July. Everything from the welcome our first day to the sunsets and cozy evenings was perfect. We enjoyed the beach and small community there so much. The home is comfortable and absolutely inspiring. Our hosts were world-class and anticipated our every need. We will definitely be returning. This is a family house with beautiful interiors; garden and views.

Upon arrival we were wowed by the beauty of the house - blended modern with traditional Portuguese country styled interiors - it makes for an instant warmth. Incredibly roomy downstairs with eating areas both in the huge kitchen, dinning room and splendidly pointed veranda, overlooking the ocean. All mod cons are there. You do not need aircon as thick walls and plenty of sea breeze. Upstairs you have 3 very well decorated bedrooms. One double and 2 twins. One ensuite and another bathroom. 2 bedrooms with stunning views; including master with glorious balcony with ocean-view. Garden is lovingly presented and the pool is adequate and most definitely bigger than a plunge pool. The sea is great for a long swim!! The views throughout the day are stunning and the sunsets are panoramic. Excellent barbecue area and lovely conservatory. The house is situated within walking distance of a very beautiful beach and the local big village of Praia das Macas which offers diverse and good eating choices. Within short driving distance there are various other stunning beaches; all of which have some truly outstanding restaurants. Close by there is Sintra which is a must and the surrounding historical building and gardens and fantastic walks with breathtaking countryside. Additionally Cascais is close by and those who like a touch of class are well advised to visit 'The Cannes' of Portugal! The Villa can be used as a base to do day trips to Lisbon and the many other beautiful sites nearby. Last but not least the owners are very nice and are very responsive to any needs. We loved it and so will you!

Spectacular stay

We just left this lovely property full of high impression!s! Very cosy house on the board of ocean inside the natural park Sintra-Cascais! Beautiful sea view from the windows. Nice beaches, restaurants and supermarket within walking distance. Best place for family stay! The owners are very welcoming and responsive.
