Custom Log Home in quiet Blue River 7 minutes from downtown Breckenridge

This is our own home away from home and has everything you're looking for in a mountain getaway. This log cabin style home was built in 2004 with boundless charm and ambiance. The main floor has an open floor plan, great for family gatherings with an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, dining area and living room. A 1/2 bath is located off the kitchen. The first floor large master bedroom has a queen bed, walk-in closet and its own private full bath attached with a whirlpool tub/shower. Upstairs is a loft for additional sleeping space or for the kids to play, a 2nd large bedroom with a queen bed, and a 3rd bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. A full bath with a bathtub/shower is located upstairs as well. The wraparound deck is spacious and the perfect evening gathering place for stargazing and storytelling. Countless hiking trails are nearby, including some within the neighborhood. The ski lifts at the base of Peak 9 are only a 7-8 minute drive away. Free parking at the Ice Rink is less than 7 minutes away (with quick shuttle buses to each of the bases), and the main parking lots for the gondola are 10 minutes.

In 2020, we removed our VRBO listing due to increased listing costs and instead listed exclusively with that other vacation rental site (where we still have our cabin listed). In April 2025, we renewed our VRBO listing, so that is why there is a large gap in our reviews. On that other site, we have over 294 reviews and have a 4.96 rating out of 5.00. This is a really nice cabin in a great location. Easy to get to and access to the world class skiing/snowboarding we were after. It easily handled our crew of 8 adults. The living areas were very comfortable and clean. The owner was a delight to deal with and responded fully to all our inquires. The kitchen was well stocked and roomy to work in. The appliances were all in clean working condition and the gas cook top was a treat since we like to cook. The listing descriptions are all very accurate and the pricing was fair and reasonable for the market. We would quickly book this cabin again!

Great Stay in Blue River!!!!

Had a fantastic stay. So glad we rented just outside of Breck!! The owner was helpful and easy to communicate with during our stay. We were close to Breck and many great trailheads. The cabin served our all our needs and would rent again!!

Comfy Cabin

We stayed here during a summer trip through the Rockies and found a real gem. It was a great cabin located in a quiet neighborhood up in the forest. The cabin was spacious and had enough room for parents, 3 kids, plus a nanny. The proximity to Breckenridge was great with lots of stuff to do - fly fishing, rafting, hiking, etc. The Mohawk lake hike trail head was a short distance away and was excellent. The cabin's owner was super helpful too. We would definitely recommend this location for a summer trip to Breckenridge.

Beautiful log cabin!

My husband and I just stayed for a few days and had a wonderful time . The cabin is beautiful and so cozy. It is stocked so well so you dont have to buy spices, cooking spray etc.... Everything worked perfectly and all we had to do was sit back and enjoy the fires at night and watch the snow fall. You can't get better than this cabin!

Great getaway log cabin in Colorado

Took family of five for week in Breckenridge. We make annual summer trip to Colorado and are frequent users of VRBO. This place exceeded expectations. Home had plenty of room and good reccomendations for nearby activities. Owner very responsive and house was well stocked with all necessary spices, condiments and other cooking provisions. Would reccomend the place.

Wonderful Stay

House is very cozy and good location close to Breckenridge. Well stocked kitchen for the little extras and everything you need to cook. Gracious homeowner easy to communicate with who gave lots of tips and recommendations. A great stay for my family. Would rent again.

Exactly what we wanted for our family of 6!

My family had a wonderful experience here. We have 4 teenagers and this house was just what we were looking for, it was big enough for everyone to have a place to sleep, but small enough to keep us together and actually spend some time as a family! It's also a huge bonus to us that this was a Log Home, it just feels that much more like a get away from normal life. The cabin is still close enough to Breckenridge that running into town wasn't a big deal at all and there are tons of trails close by for hiking. The house itself is very comfortable and the one thing we really appreciated is that it didn't feel empty, the bathrooms have shampoo and conditioner, the kitchen has spices and condiments. It felt like a home. The owners were beyond nice and helpful! We've been going to the Breckenridge area for 9 years and this was my favorite place to stay.

Beautiful home to make memories with your family!

Our family of four traveled to this lovely cabin in March and had the most wonderful time! The cabin itself is clean, comforting and provides beautiful snow covered tree views! The owner, Mark, was incredibly responsive and kind. Our two children loved this home and all Breckenridge had to offer. We cannot wait to come back to the cabin at Blue River!

Wonderful Christmas at Blue River in Breck

My family and I stayed two weeks in this cabin for our Christmas vacation. It was wonderful. Everything you need and accommodations are just as described. This cabin had everything we needed in order to make out stay nothing short than spectacular!!! Any issues or questions we had the owner Mark, was just a phone call away. Mark was very easily to talk to, friendly, and accommodating. We also had a change to meet his family, who were wonderful. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils needed to make a warm meal after long days of skiing. The cabin is just a beautiful 5-8 minute drive to Breck. The cabin is very cozy, heaters are in great shape, and there are enough blanks and pillows to accommodate all the guest. Dish Washer, and washer and Dryer are in perfected condition. Smart TV's work perfectly and we had no issues with the WiFi connection, works to perfection. There were plenty of snow sleds, playing cards, puzzles, and boardgames to keep the kids entertained. We defiantly are planning on returning to this Blue River. Our stay at Blue River made all of families Winter Wonderland dream come true.

Beautiful Cabin Minutes Outside of Breckenridge

My family and I spent an extended weekend here and had a wonderful time. The cabin itself is beautiful and very well appointed. It was nice not to have to stock up on small grocery items (spices/etc). The location was perfect, just minutes away from Breckenridge town center. The owner was very pleasant to rent from, and he put forth considerable effort to ensure our comfort. Great WiFi and awesome Smart TV. Our only gripe would be the odor from the hot water. Apparently the water is sourced from a well, which caused the hot water to have a sulfur/rotten-eggy smell anytime we used it. This is addressed in the welcome binder, where it is stated that the smell dissipates after some use - however it persisted during our entire 3 day stay. This was a minor issue for us and in no way impeded us from having a fantastic trip. Thanks for everything, Mark!

Spent wonderful week at this beautiful cabin in a pretty wooded neighborhood. Mark, the owner could not have been nicer and made us feel like we were his personal guests. House had everything we needed and kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools. Hope to come back and stay here again!

Fantastic house. Will go back for sure.

Our family of five spent a few days in the house this summer. It is very well located, very close from the main trails and very close to town. Honestly the drive is very easy, no big hill to go through until you reach Breckenridge. It took us about 5 minutes to drive to main street. When we arrived, the house was absolutely spotless. Everything was exactly like the description said it would be, 3 spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds, 2 very clean bathrooms with enough towels for all, as well as a bonus restroom on the main level. The kitchen, living/dining area is open and very cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped with all utensils to cook even for a big family. There are enough cups, plates, silverware for all. THE INTERNET WORKS VERY WELL, and so is the smart TV. The deck is a joy to sit in. The owner is very nice and gives you a lot of info on how to navigate in the area and the instructions to get in the house are very clear. He is very responsive to any inquiry you may have to improve your stay. We will definitively rent this house again and we highly recommend it even in the winter.

Wonderful location, great property!

Great Home- nice gettaway but close to everything

Great Cabin, lovely home that is very comfortable. We did the whole Flyfishing, Rafting, Hiking thing and it was great to come back to a quiet, comfortable home- grill, wine and the fire pit was a great ending to most days. We would recommend this home and the Owner is a super nice guy and very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful, clean and cozy.

The cabin is perfectly convienent to enjoy everything Breckenridge and Summit County has to offer for your Colorado mountain vacation. The instructions and information left in the cabin was extremely helpful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The homeowner goes above and beyond in providing many needed things in the cabin (you won't need to pack salt and pepper!) I highly recommend this cabin if you are interested in a beautiful mountain experience. Thank you again for the use of your beautiful vacation home.

Hidden Gem

This was our first family trip to Colorado and Mark's log home made it a very memorable stay for the entire family. The log home backs up to a mountain on a very secluded and wooded lot. It is less than 10 minutes from Breckenridge and there are lots of hiking trails nearby. The home is beautiful inside and out and is exceptionally clean and well taken care of. The kitchen is so well appointed I don't think Wolfgang Puck could find anything missing. The jetted tub in the master bath was great after a day of hiking as well. Mark communicated with us several times to ensure everything was okay. We highly recommend this log home and thank Mark for a wonderful stay. We definitely plan to stay here again in the future.

Mark can't get enough skiing, while Patty, can't get enough hiking. We both enjoy strolling in town, shopping, grabbing a drink and app in the afternoon and occasionally dining out when we're too exhausted to cook ourselves. We have two daughters, a son-in-law and two young granddaughters with whom we love to share the joy of this great home!

We fell in love with this quintessential Rocky Mountain log home as soon as we saw it, and the original owners maintained and furnished this home as their second home, full of family touches which we have continued. We live in the Chicago area, but our trips to Breckenridge to ski in the winter and hike in the summer became more and more frequent, and we wanted to find something just like this to share with our adult children and their families in the years to come. In the meantime, we intend to share it with other families like yours to help defray some of the cost of living this dream.

This is not a typical rental property with scratchy linens, tinny silverware, lumpy or saggy beds, cheap kitchen appliances, disposable furniture and beer-soaked carpets. This was, and will remain, a home used by our family for our own vacations and getaways to build life-long memories. We hope that you will see and appreciate this and treat it the same way so that when you return year after year (as do many of our previous guests), it will have the same feel and comforts as you remember from the last time you stayed with us (although you might notice some upgrades from year to year, such as new furniture, mattresses, appliances, and paving the driveway).
