Beautiful Year Round House On Sunset Side Of Elk Lake.

Our wonderful vacation home is on 135 feet of gorgeous Elk Lake. It is located on the dead end of a small private road and heavily landscaped to create maximum privacy. We have a small sandy beach perfect for the kids, spectacular swimming off the dock, the best sunsets, and what we feel is the perfect location. We are 6 miles from the cute village of Elk Rapids on Lake Michigan, 23 miles from the Traverse City Airport, and just over an hour to exploring the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore to the west, and Charlevoix/Petosky/Harbor Springs attractions to the north.
Our cottage is uniquely positioned just yards from the water. We love the close proximity of the shore, dock and hoist to our kitchen and deck as well as the sound of the water at night from our bedroom.
As our photos show our ground floor living space is completely open between our large family, kitchen and dining areas. This has facilitated so many great memories with everyone of all ages congregating in the same area whether playing games, watching tv/movies, listening to music, cooking or dining..On cooler evenings the fireplace and it's wood burning insert make ir all cozy. We also have a portable brass firepit for evenings on the beach for marshmallows or smores.
Our ground floor master bedroom is located off the kitchen with windows looking out the beach and lake. It has a queen bed with a large walk in closet. It also has an oversized bathroom and shower which accommodated the first owners wife's' disabilities. Sliders out the side lead to a covered grilling area between our house and the garage. This makes easy access between the kitchen and the gas grill and/or Big Green Egg smoker.
The second floor holds three bedrooms. At the top of the stairs is a large bedroom overlooking the lake that sleeps four with two twins and trundle beds beneath. It has it's own ensuite full bath.
Across the hall is a nice bedroom with a queen size bed. It shares a full bath off the hallway with the fourth bedroom that is over the garage at the end of the hallway. It is a very large room with four twins and sitting area.
