We have been back to this home several times. It is always cozy, and the perfect place for a high peaks getaway. My family loves to gather around the fireplace and play chess in the evening. The beds are cozy and clean, the kitchen is lovely and the bathrooms are both nice. Rebecca is an attentive host who does not interfere, but does reach out to make sure you have everything you need. It's a quiet location with no traffic, but it's a quick drive to Wilmington and other nearby areas of interest.

Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed this spot. The location is excellent, nestled beautifully in the Adirondacks with good access to hiking spots, restaurants, and nearby Lake Placid. What the house sometimes lacks in modern comforts, it makes up for with plenty of charm and beautiful nature around it!

A great base for our visit

We had a quick 3 night stay as part of a bigger road trip with two families. The house was an ideal base for us to visit Lake Placid and some of the historic townships in the region. We were very comfortable at the house and it had everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains.

Great place near white face mountains

It was the perfect location for the region, the house and the check in process was smooth. Only complaint is lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms and could have been problematic had the weather been hot and humid.

Great to have George and his family visiting us. Also fortunately, it's rarely hot for long in the mountains :) so using the ceiling fans is usually all that is necessary for a great nights' sleep. Thanks for the good advice though. Please visit us again!

Annual visit and our third lovely stay!

My family and I had a lovely time, yet again! We enjoyed fun day trips, easily accessible from this great location, including The North Pole, High Falls Gorge, John Brown's Farm, shopping in Lake Placid and Keene, and more. And we loved coming back to cozy nights by the fire to relax with our kids and dogs and play board games! Thank you for helping us create beautiful memories!

Camp Onondaga is a wonderful retreat

This is our third consecutive year at the cabin to celebrate our anniversary, and each time it feels just like coming home. Rebecca and Wayne could not be kinder, more gracious hosts. We are so grateful to have found them and this place. It is the most relaxing and well-stocked place we have ever stayed at, and is centrally located to some terrific Adirondack adventures. Thank you for having us again - we already can't wait to come back!

Cozy, warm chalet in the woods

Our first time renting a property, what a great experience. The owners were very easy to contact to answer questions, the house was nestled in the woods with an awesome trail to ski, snowshoe or walk on. Great family house, loved the open living room with fireplace. House was clean. We would definitely rent there again!

Great Time

Owner was proactive in making contact, and made extra efforts to relay us useful information for the property. Our small family had plenty of space to spread out, and the pet friendly status made this ideal. I look forward to coming back sometime when it is cooler so that we could use the wood fireplace and outdoor fire pit.

Perfect home close to Lake Placid/Whiteface

We were looking to enjoy some time in the Andirondocks to meet our cousins and enjoy a Hallmark winter wonderland. This home was the perfect place to serve as a cozy base for our adventure. We enjoyed the comfy beds, the well stocked kitchen and the TV to watch our team win the bowl game. We enjoyed playing in the snow on the large lot and enjoying the warm fire within. Marjorie was great to communicate with and we loved our stay.

Solitude and access to trails

The property is very clean and spacious. My siblings and I spent a delightful long weekend there, taking advantage of the trail literally outside the front door to go snowshoeing. The bedrooms were all very comfortable, and the fireplace and sitting area was a great place to play board games. The kitchen is fully equipped, with sharp knives and even a salad spinner. The internet connection was very fast, and the TV room was nice and cozy as well. I would definitely recommend staying here. The owners were very responsive to questions as well.

wonderful long-term stay

Very well stocked and cozy home. Very responsive property owner. Beautiful trails in forest behind house for hiking or cross country skiing. We enjoyed many nights with a fire in the fireplace (wood supplied). Convenient location for access to high peaks hiking trails and to skiing at Whiteface. Close (35 minutes) to shopping but feels like a peaceful and secluded retreat in the woods.. . . .perfect for rest and relaxation.

Our Annual Autumn Getaway

Every year my family and I head to the high peaks area with our dogs for a long weekend in October. This is our 2nd year in a row at this property, and it felt like coming home, in a way. It's a beautiful, quiet place, and it has all the comforts of home. Rebecca is a caring and attentive host, who is always a quick text away, if needed. The kids also enjoyed the new ping pong table, which came in handy during the monsoon-like weather we had Satuday! We hope to return again! Thank you!

The perfect honeymoon retreat

I can't say enough about this gorgeous cabin or the wonderful people who own it. We spent our honeymoon here and it was the most perfect week. We were so charmed by all the antiques and impressed with the very-well-stocked kitchen pantry. Everything we needed, or might have needed, was all right there, and the location is very accessible to some incredible hikes. Rebecca and Wayne are thoughtful, appreciative owners, and their genuine passion is written plainly in everything they do. We are so thankful to have found this place. We will long remember our morning coffees on the porch and evening fires in the living room. This was truly the best honeymoon retreat we could have asked for.

Perfect Adirondack getaway

This was the best stocked home that we have ever stayed at. Perfect ranch home with ramp for easy accessibility last house on a dead end street. Fully stocked kitchen, working grill with utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, lots of blankets, towels, you name it they have it! Lots of games for the kids to play with, Wifi worked great and so did the cable/smart tv. Very cozy and definitely a place we will be coming back to no complaints at all. The owners are very nice and responsive. Some of the pictures may look outdated but don't let that fool you the house is very cozy and a place anyone would be happy to stay

Quiet house at end of lane

Spacious Adirondack-style house in clearing in forest - amazingly well-equipped and well designed for a comfortable stay. We have friends close by, so we ate out for two of our 4 evenings there - but it was a cinch to prepare food and eat in on the other two evenings. Might be best to bring some basics as nearest big grocery stores are in Lake Placid or Plattsburg. Great breakfast place in Upper Jay - Adirondack Mountain Coffee Cafe - as well as Sugar House Creamery. For a self-catered vacation, house can't be beat - and we didn't even use the games room with big TV, or the large gas grill on the porch, or the fire pit, etc - get the picture?

Comfortable base in the North Adirondacks

This was a comfortable, well-stocked base for our visit to the northern Adirondacks. We had several days of rain, so we spent more time in the house than we expected. The house is nothing fancy, but roomy and cozy. Baseboard heaters are really effective. Beds were comfortable. Wifi was strong and reliable. Kitchen was well-stocked, in both kitchenware and spices/sundries. Lots of puzzles and games in the TV room. The basement had a ping-pong table, but we did not use. We had a few questions for the owner, and got a prompt response - within hours.

Return to a mountain jewel

This is the second year in a row that we returned to this lovely chalet. Rebecca and Wayne have created the most spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped winter chalet that I and my friends have rented in thirty years of winter reunions for x-c skiing in the Lake Placid area. The furnishings are casual as a generational family retreat should be, but lack nothing. There is a game room with a TV and fold-out bed, one children's bedroom with two single beds, and two adult bedrooms. Our group of three couples and one teenager never felt crowded. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for major meal production, with plenty of fresh supplies from the owner's and previous guests, so there is no worry about forgetting to bringing baking soda or cinnamon for pancakes. The fireplace has the best draft I have ever seen, it fires up quickly without a hint of smoke spilling out into the living room, which is important for an asthmatic like myself. The owners are nice and responsive. As long as this chalet is available at its very reasonable price we will never again shop around for our winter retreat.

As a visitor to the Adirondacks from 1980 the area has year round activities. Skiing, snowshoeing, bobsledding, toboggan runs, ice skating, etc in the winter. Hiking, kayaking, canoeing, mountain climbing, biking, gondola rides, etc Spring, Summer and Fall. The leaves in the Fall are spectacular. This is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy family, friends and scenery.
