Great views, disappointing accommodation
Lovely welcome by the agent. Wine and fruit provided. Friendly owners who left us fresh eggs twice. Views and facilities from the upper patio are fabulous, in fact just like the photograph. Quiet area and very well situated for walking into Soller so long as you don't mind a little effort on the uphill return (we didn't mind at all). Good Wi-Fi connection. Plenty of hot water. HOWEVER, the accommodation wasn't what we booked!! The photo on the Home and Away website is of another property on the upper patio level whereas the accommodation provided is actually built under the upper patio area. We consider the photo of the exterior is"mis-leading" advertising. It's rather like putting your house up for sale but marketing it with a photograph of your neighbour's property because it is more attractive!!! Had we known what the accommodation looked like from the outside and where it was positioned we wouldn't have rented it. Additionally, we searched for a property with an oven and a dishwasher. The website clearly stated oven, grill, dishwasher. None of these were actually provided. When we complained the agent removed them from the Home and Away website. Had the details on the website been correct the property would have been filtered out of our search. As we enjoy cooking it was very disappointing to have to manage with a microwave and two halogen rings for two weeks! We also didn't realise from the photos that the bed was actually wedged into a corner so tightly that the person sleeping next to the wall would have to crawl over the other person in order to go to the bathroom during the night. Impossible to walk around the bed as it was accessible from one side only. As a result I, being the shorter person, spent two weeks sleeping on the sofa. There was a lovely large patio in front of the accommodation, albeit not the patio we thought we had booked, although it was slightly marred by the blue transit van permanently parked to the right side of our view. We were also told not to worry if we sometimes heard vehicles as it would only be the the owners family. Almost every night at about 2:30 in the morning we were woken by the same car arriving. Every morning it was in front of our view. Again, not what we booked. In summary, this could be a great property to rent so long as potential customers are not misled into believing that they are renting an entirely different property. There are a lot of positives but we came away feeling rather let down.
