Updated fully furnished 2 bedroom heated lakefront cottage on McCrossen Lake, Waupaca Chain O'Lakes. Sleeps 6. Quiet dead-end road with beautiful towering white pines. Enjoy boating, swimming and fishing on slow no-wake McCrossen Lake. Renowned for its crystal clear water, the 24 spring fed lakes of the Chain O'Lakes have been called the Killarneys of America. Ideal for paddle-boarding, kayaking, or a cruise on a pontoon boat, sailing and water-skiing. Large dock with swimming raft accommodates boat parking and great swimming. Solid sand-bottom swimming area with a sand beach for the little ones to play on. Just 2 hours north of Milwaukee and 4 hours north of Chicago area.

There is a fire pit ready for s'mores and relaxing in the evening, charcoal grills for cooking out, and lawn chairs. Close to restaurants, boat liveries and shopping. Near Hartman Creek State Park, and Turners Farm Market where you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Don't forget to try their famous corn on the cob.

My friends and I had an amazing time! Nancy was always available whenever we needed anything. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful cottage—you won’t regret it! The backyard opens right up to the lake, offering stunning views every morning and evening as you relax by the fire. Enjoy!

Great weekend

We had a wonderful time on our 4 day weekend. The property was what was told to us. The fishing was absolutely fantastic! Thanks! We’ll be staying there again.

Beautiful spot on the Chain

This lovely little place is right on McCrossen Lake middle of the Chain. Everything is nicely done and well kept with everything you need. We had an issue with the cable TV and the host, who lives nearby, was quite responsive. It was our third stay and we hope to return!

Weekend in Waupaca

When we arrived at the property we were quite stunned to see large dumpsters on the front lawn and tarps covering the roof. Apparently the property had been in a terrible storm in July and was under repair because large trees had fallen on the building and had gone through the roof. Our unit was clean and freshly re-modeled but there was no TV, no coffee pot and no Internet as promised in the reservation information. When I called the owner the next morning she was very prompt in getting to us and did provide a coffee pot and fixed the Internet and TV. It is a lovely lake and a lovely setting however I wish I would have known about the storm damage and the repairs that were being made. I probably would’ve booked somewhere else. Based on the condition of the property this unit was very overpriced.

Thank you for your review. I apologize for the problems you encountered. We have been trying to get our property back to its original condition since July, but the contractors and weather played a big role. They are now just starting on rebuilding the roof and it's supposed to rain again on Thursday. I'm sorry you think we are overpriced but we try to stay within the range that other owners charge. Hopefully we will be up and running 100% next spring.

Beautiful lakeside spot!

The place has been beautifully re-done inside, recently. Very clean and comfortable. The lake is right there - easy access, out in it or from the window inside. Two of us stayed there and we had one guest overnight one night, quite comfortable for everyone. We hope to return!

Lovely spot on the lake

This place has 4 units all hooked together. The area facing the lake is a common area for all the units but you do have your own front porch and fire pit to sit at. We wanted privacy so we were lucky that people left and we had the place to ourselves for a few of the days. The only complaint is that it is very noisy when people are in their unit. You can hear everything!

Great property. Very clean and comfortable.

The owners, Nancy and Al, are very attentive and are very friendly. They truly go the extra mile to make their guests feel at home. This cottage is on McCrossen Lake, Waupaca Chain O'Lakes, not Windigo Lake as it may say on HomeAway.com.
